We did Quandary Peak last summer. We used the shuttle from Breckenridge that drops you off at the trailhead. It was mid-week and parking at the trailhead didn't seem to be an issue. No idea on a weekend. It was a fun hike. We took our time, and I think we did the round trip in about 6 hours. Got up close and personal with a few mountain goats along the way. 316DC5DF-20A9-4AA4-B7FE-F963A19FA27B.HEIC B31A2C12-E887-471E-ACDE-FB955C0D2F20.HEIC FA0D057A-E28B-47BE-A051-96091C09E866.HEIC 0311B1F3-40EF-4547-B6D0-EF7F32091AB0.HEIC

What a monster stage. Jonas looks great. Gritty performances all around. Shame for Remco. Tadej looked to be riding defensively - bring on Ventoux and the Alps. Is the dude with the antler helmet the same Jackass from a decade ago? Seem to remember him particularly at the Tour of California. Waiting for him to trip and spear a rider or a spectator. Would be happy to see the gendarmes take him to the turf…

My biggest difficulty was that I don’t know when leach was named coach at tech. The difference in coaches between 2000 and 2002 or 2003 makes a difference. -

Yeah. I’d love to know the actual OSU take on that one how hard (if?) they tried for retention. My sense was they were just loading up talent and figuring they’d have an open tryout and everyone who didn’t win could fuck right off and once Quinn reclassified and they liked their guy they didn’t care all that much about Quinn, but that’s me making assumptions and surmising not anything I know.

Yeah, @Goredho pretty much nails it on drop D. Besides the general heaviness, it lets you play chunky chords in riffs that you otherwise couldn't This is an old demo from 30 years ago when we were doing a bunch of drop D stuff for that reason.

I put in 40 ft of metal edging hoping it will divert water flowing across the surface from a heavy rain. The hole had about the same water as the last time. Makes me wonder if that's the wet weather ground water level. Hmm. Some friends:

Pretty sure Les Miles was still in Stillwater, Dan McCarney was in a corn maze, and RC was still in the pasture, but otherwise looks pretty good…and Steele for Baylor. Can’t remember who was at Kansas before Mangino because Glen West was already gone by then…right? -

It’s a relief when certain posters, especially BOW but others as well, disagree with me on here. It’s a better confirmation of how right I am than just about anything else. what’s funny is that with a lot of posters - futureman, helobious- Im fairly confident that it’s a bit or that they’re trolling. BOW definitely likes to troll, but he’s bad enough at it that you can tell when he’s being serious. I honestly doubt that hes that big of an asshole IRL, but on here hes something special. I would be honestly shocked if 90% of the people on this board dont remember Spike Dykes. First, because you’re all old as shit, and second, because his son is coaching at TCU. -

Yeah, drop D is the gateway drug to alternate tunings. One thing not discussed yet, and why it (and drop C) tuning is used a lot in heavy, chugging djent style music is the ability to hammer on and pull off power chords on the 4th, 5th and 6th strings. You can play heavy power chord riffs in drop D that would be impossible as power chords in standard tuning.
