Ditto. i’m an elder in the PCUSA, and I remember the dust up over gay ordained ministers back in the 90s. In our contentious session meetings you found out who were the conservative haters, and who welcomed to anyone into the church. I remember one particularly homophobic elder who was also butt-chapped because our pastor said no - we’re not gonna stick in American flag anywhere near the pulpit. it always killed me that the ones having real problems with gay people we’re almost a perfect venn diagram with people who had multiple divorces. Because I’m the same charming person I am at church as I am on Surly, I would ask them why they cared so much about a subject that Jesus did not find to be a problem, when they should be spending time on what Jesus repeatedly said was a absolute no-no…getting divorced and remarried multiple times. I also asked them if they thought advice from the same group who gave us the menstruation tent command should be listened to before the advice from the sermon on the mount guy. Most of those folks wound up joining one of the PCUSA defectors who aligned with some evangelical Presbyterian Church that was essentially Southern Baptist with a different name tag.

Its an interesting decline when viewed against the laughably ridiculous trend where just about every athlete interviewed on TV after a game begins with some variant of "first I would just like to say that all things were made possible by my lord and savior jesus christ, and I couldn't do anything without him." I heard a guy the other day that practically began with a sermon. And then they probably all shower, hit the bars, and fuck a bunch of women out of wedlock. Its almost as if celebrity culture increasingly demands you at least pretend to be religious, which I find bizarre when fewer of us give a fuck about the subject every year. My observations of friends, family, and peer's lifestyles mirror the trend of declining religiosity in everyday life, but for some reason the meathead contingent feels the need to parrot the same phrases every time they open their mouth. Maybe its in their NIL deals, who knows.

I guess my mindset when it comes to Gilbeaux (And idk maybe its coaching) but even when Taaffe and McDonald were playing Gilbeaux was still giving up plays and doesn't seem to have situational awareness. I'm not saying the Secondary is in this shape because of him, but he seems to have a knack for giving up the 3rd and 5-7 yard plays for the first and playing the corner position likes he still at star (always giving up the inside in coverage but is physical and play the run and tackles well). Plus, you're a three-year letterman with starter experience. If you still need a Safety to get you lined up or put you in position you shouldn't be on the field. D. Williams I think needs some time to get back acclimated but provides great depth. He was good last year in the limited time we seen him. Filsaime I agree, but I chalk that up to experience. Manny started off the year strong but has definitely given up some plays, but overall he's solid. When you play aggressive at Corner you win some and lose some. Littleton has done more than I think anyone can ask for, yes he gets beat every now and then, but with more experience he's a star in the making

I don't know guys, I'm starting to think the guy who was best friends with Jeffrey Epstein for 15 years and went on the Howard Stern show and answered "Well I wouldn't have sex with a 12 year-old" when asked how young he would go..... just might have been involved in some child rape. Maybe we shouldn't have made him president I guess. Oh well, hindsight's 20-20.

I am certainly assuming that is is says Virginia under that redaction. I haven't seen a report anywhere else that says there is a different name under there.

Thanks. I hadn't caught that. And, anyone else find this quote kinda funny in retrospect:

The 1968 drip edge AB165 is intriguing but already is at the top of what I'd ever want to pay for it. But I'm eyeballing that hat and those flared pants. /signed 5'10" and definitely chubby /5'10" and chubby should be the new Surly motto

What I want is an annotated table, organized chronologically, that shows Trump's whereabouts and explains what other relevant people were doing and events were underway, which would help contextualize the communications and shed light on what's significant. Many of the smoking guns are only smoking guns if you understand what was going on at the time the emails were sent or received.

I just read Brian Daboll is in the hunt for the PSU job and that would be the most Penn State hire they could make. *chef kiss* -

Derek Thompson and Ezra Klein both pimp that book and Neil Postman’s “Amusing Ourselves to Death” more than any others. Brooks spends the first part grounding this and I don’t think it’s accidental he starts with the Greeks rather than early Christians. He’s reaching for a morality than transcends specific cultures or generations. As far as your gentle needling about Brooks, I get it-I feel like 50% of his writing could have “Was I an idiot for being a conservative?” as a thesis.

It's the same email you posted man. Not having "Virginia" is a pretty critical redaction if the question is whether Virginia knew about it.

I will rep this every time it’s posted. This will be my sign at the next No Kings rally.
