Like soon from a condition, or like the rest of us from being idiots and having to live out our lives for another 40-50 years? -
As I already pointed out - the NBA wasn't subsidizing the WNBA out of altruism. They were getting a return even if it wasn't showing up in the WNBA's ledger. The Golden State Warriors were brought up to show how insignificant the 40 million dollars in losses is compared to the 10s of billions in revenue the NBA collects. That 40 million was 3/10ths of 1% of the NBA's total revenue. It was equivalent to an MLE contract. Patrick Williams, a shitty PF and roughly the 8th best player on the Bulls could subsidize the WNBA for two years on his contract alone. The Bucks just paid Damien Lillard 113 million to go away and not play for them. That 40 million means nothing to the NBA and subsidizing the WNBA was/is the equivalent of a 3 month long commercial to grow the game. Yes, Caitlin Clark is a huge part of the recent surge in popularity the WNBA is experiencing and that will help to drive the new CBA (which Caitlin will benefit from). I'm not sure it really needs to be said, but if that somehow validates you - there you go. But Caitlin won't see your post and she's definitely not going to fuck you. 20 years of losses have nothing to do with this current crop of players - as you yourself have said, the player leading this new wave of excitement is only in her second season.

And for those who were vexed with Wesley being traded away, here's your 2nd chance!!! Wizards, a team devoid of good players, didn't even give him a real look. Interesting. Gotta be able to shoot these days. -

If we land Cooper, and he sticks, our RB might be the nastiest in the nation next season. -

Closer to $450k over this and last year. Shopping an offer is fine. But when you tell a staff one thing and decide an OSU visit is needed. We don't use hard checks to close but do expect loyalty. Hence the Ojo no go. I have the benefit to know I'm dying and really don't need money for retiring now. Easy to give some to Texas. And no I don't have sway other than declining to up what I'd given. -

The NFL has existed for over 100 years. The NBA has been around for 75 years. As recently as the early-to-mid 1980s, some NFL players had offseason jobs to supplement their pay. Today, the average NFL player makes $3.2mm. In 1985 it was $160k. Players claimed it was 28% of revenue; owners claimed it was 44%. Regardless, they NFL was making a profit. Right now, the WNBA is 27 years old and (allegedly) loses $40mm on $200mm in revenue (2023). Revenue is clearly rising, as it was $102mm in 2019. In 2019, they were paid around 17% of league revenue and now around 10%. When costs are 120% of revenue, it is difficult to justify giving everyone a raise, but (as already noted before) we really do not know how the WNBA manages its P&L. NBA's CBA has players at 49%-51% of BRI (Basketball Related Income). WNBA should strive for that. The real problem is how is "income" calculated? Is it gross? Is it net? If net, they get nothing. The WNBAPA will need a really capable negotiator and financier on their side for the next few rounds of CBA negotiations. And clarity in how they report and manage P&L.

I know about Jap Road. Been to the Boondocks many times as a kid and fed the gators in Taylor’s bayou. I’m almost positive there is/was a Jap Lane as well in Orange County if not Vidor proper.
