There was a stretch where it seemed like Die Hard was constantly playing, and my friends with HBO would get annoyed when I was over at their house and insisted on watching it. One of my friends that had it, it was hooked up to a TV in den, across the house from the parents bedroom. When I was staying over for D&D or whatever, I'd ask to watch whatever late-night smut was one. He would tell me "Somebody could walk in on you watching that" and my response would be: One time he said "yeah, but what if it was my mom?"

I've thought about this for years. I graduated from Paschal in 1978. We were so-so in football at the time, but we were a state power in basketball and good in baseball. As you Fort Worth folks know, PHS has been one of the most dreadful football programs in the upper divisions for decades, beginning I believe in the 1980s. But for several years, Arlington Heights, Southwest and Eastern Hills fielded some good - not great, but good - teams that regularly sent players to play football on scholarship for good college programs. Everyone knows that when the suburban schools open up it usually preordains a slow death for "inner city" schools. But Fort Worth struggled in football even as they were more than competitive in basketball and baseball. But it feels like there was more to it than simply suburban schools popping up. What it is/was, I honestly don't know.

I was just at one last weekend. The one near campus is no longer there, which is where I discovered Kerouac. I picked up a copy of Dharma Bums for like $2 at the Half-Price books near campus, then went on a Kerouac and Hunter S. Thompson binge in the 90's. While they still exist, you can't buy books for a couple books anymore, they quit selling the older books with the old marked prices a long time ago. -

Yeah, they asked Mitch if Sochan was ok health-wise and he just said "yeah..." Ok, so why didn't you play him more? https://youtu.be/HYOC0CvudFY?si=NIvOcRsLy0x96Vs- -
UCLA dominated the second half. Betts vs Smiley should be fun in a couple of weeks

Exactly what I’m saying. I don’t understand the “Georgia will blow us out” thought at all. We may lose, but the path to a blowout isn’t really all that likely IMO.

Just got home but I think the final score of the Aledo Saginaw game was 80-12. Last five games for Aledo have out scored opponents 363-22. [emoji15]

More highly rated than Gunnar Helm and Jack Endries. Debatably whiter though. Doomed.

For sure. I wouldn't rank it above Deadwood or The Sopranos, but it's a good series.
