  1. Past hour
  2. you lost me at "wins at Arkansas and VT". You are trying too hard. I guess that means Texas fans should be over the moon about the win at MSU. This is just intellectually dishonest.
  3. I'm not suggesting that at all. I am saying the SEC is very deliberate about their scheduling, with indirect protection of the 'better teams.' It's not absolute, of course, but I'm saying this season's results are not just 'Awe shucks, our best teams just didn't play each other a lot. ' It's cumulative with the November bye games and the 4th OOC game. The SEC is deliberately pedantic towards any 'standardization' of scheduling. That's their prerogative, I guess, but don't be all pissy when someone( Texas) gets hosed. It's the game the SEC has chosen to play, and certainly is not directly UT's fault. It's in fact the opposite of that. I've long advocated 1) 9 conference games 2) 13 weeks to play 12 games and 3) maximum of 1 non P4 opponent. That's for all P4 teams. Pipe dream stuff, I know.
  4. Doesn't mention it being patented. That would probably be a difficult thing to patent, being basically an elastic cord, but would be fun to try.
  5. I think you're confused. The records indicate ranking at time for historical purposes. That's just documentation, not analysis. All the actual analysis is based upon what the teams turn out to be. Things like FEI, SP+, and you know, the actual playoff rankings, are all based upon the full season context. For our purposes, when comparing playoff resumes, you do that analysis based upon the complete picture. Suggesting otherwise is moronic.
  6. I’ve always maintained the team should come out on the field to Cowboys From Hell
  7. Was Texas ranked after the Ohio St loss? Would THAT ranking have them safely in the field?
  8. Emotionally and stress-wise. I could see in they guy's face and hear in his words that it really was a gut-wrenching decision. He loved it at Ole Miss. He had meaningful relationships with his players, coaches, administrators, people in the community. He really wanted to coach his team in the playoffs to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He was forced by the system in place to make a fast, life changing decision and forgo all of that. Sure the guy gets paid a ton, but money doesn't always cover everything.
  9. Yeah but Ohio State beat the #1 team in the country*! *On week 1 based on pre-season rankings
  10. Exciting final week coming up. Six teams alive for 3 playoff spots. Four of the six playing each other.
  11. Where did you write two of our road losses were to #1 and #3 in the country? I can’t find it.
  12. Texas talk coming up after break.
  13. I started to write something about being fair to OU for awarding zero points here, but then I saw they suspended the teacher, so scratch that.
  14. Classic play, just be completely wrong, get called out, double down.
  15. The strongest argument against Texas - other than just "hurr durr three losses" - is our performance on the road this season. We'd almost definitely play a playoff game on the road, so the committee would ask - can this team win a game against a playoff team on the road? We played five true road games this season, going 2-3, and losing to a team who fired their coach. We were blown out by Georgia and our "best result" was a 7 point loss to Ohio State. Not a good data point when your best result is a loss. And even the wins were suspect - we needed OT to beat another team who fired their coach and a big comeback and OT to beat a below average Mississippi State. Now let's look at some of the other teams: Oklahoma - wins at Tennessee and Alabama. Alabama - won at Georgia (this easily cancels out the FSU loss even though that loss is worse than ours at Florida) Notre Dame - blowout wins at Pitt and Arkansas. Yes, I know pig sucked but they did what you are supposed to do and destroyed them. Miami - blowout at Pitt and VT (again, they suck, but that's what you are supposed to do) While this isn't the only data point, it's a pretty strong one that doesn't work in our favor.
  16. 5 of those came pre-OU when he was playing at his worst 2 in the back half of the season. Also only had 1 game with 0 TDs (Kentucky) 1st half of the season - 17 total TDs (12 pass / 5 rush), 5 picks 2nd half of the season - 15 total TDs (12 pass / 3 rush), 2 picks
  17. I’m betting that some surly sleuths can locate these Instahoes. Get to work fellas!
  18. I never know Elliot was the genius behind it. I thought it was mostly Andrea, or them doing it together. He invented it, gave her one, she used it in an emergency and bam.
  19. Oilers fan?
  20. I watched "Together" last night. Did a search and haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. It's a supernatural body horror film. Allison Brie and Dave Franco are the leads. Kinda similar to the Substance but not nearly as bat-shit wild. Worth the watch, if only to look at Allison Brie.
