"yeah, somebody picked it up, yeah that's what happened. he picked it up."
-
Yeah- I assume everyone we signed the other team would have been happy to retain, I just wonder how many guys we got that would “top the list” from the other school. off the top of my head I’d say arguments for: Mitchell- Gerogia Makuba- syracuse DT or Quinn- OSU (I know they wanted to keep him/ I don’t know who else they’ve lost that they wanted to keep to the transfer portal) I suspect they would have liked to keep Quinn but when the other guy hit maybe didn’t want to spend those resources? Moore- UTSA DT- Syracuse. He was a Freshman AA at the hardest sport to recruit- they damn sure wanted to keep him- but have they lost anyone worse? Endies- Cal? Don’t know who else they’ve lost lost that might be more major but a projected second string AA has to be pretty high on the “ouch that hurt” scale.

It's funny we're talking alternate tunings and then just wind up on drop D, which... is an alternate tuning but it almost doesn't count. And it's so obvious why you want some familiarity there in the arsenal - both the sad (Speed Trap Town) and the gritty (Choctaw Bingo) version of that sound are so great and so reliant on that low D. For something that will be entirely unappreciated by this crowd but makes me want to go put on girl jeans and a too thin t-shirt with song lyrics ironed on to it - the goal there of course is not mastering the neck and then expanding past, it's... doing this one thing that makes this specific sound. in practice-

Rory got very lucky. who knows if anyone picked up his ball and then because of that he gets to place it.

Colorado Vacation Destinations - Not Quite So Crowded, But Still Cool

I’m now on week 2 in Salida and I’ve seen a ton of (what I presume to be) hot lesbians at Topo and elsewhere. Most of them are pretty tall and lean, so not fitting the more stereotypical “butchie” look I see more often in Austin. Actually, most everyone here is like Texan minus 20+ lbs, even at Walmart. -

Let me as YOU this. Can you name the schools Leach coached at? Guy didn't even become a senator after leaving Tech -
If Rory can pick up another shot, he may sneak into the final group. Unlikely, but would be awesome to watch.

A good example of a song you can learn to play in drop D that illustrates some of what I am talking about to use that droning D to good effect while concentrating on melody on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings is "The End" by the Doors.

Ideally, and I think it would be fun- we could have like top 5 or whatever players from every school in America. So subpar to mid definitely fits in the spirit of this thread. 20 or so posts in my take is still that Texas has no names on the list. Some of this is really interesting in things like- oh Gabriel is a big loss right? Oh, Oklahoma shoved him out the door? If you weren’t plugged in your probably didn’t know that. If you are plugged in and saw Jackson Arnold sucking you might know it but not understand it- but there’s some subtleties that fans of the school might have more insight into than us.

Hah! I would not have taken you for a comics girl. And yes, I think the times call for a slightly sillier or lighter version of comic book heroes than the Snyder “Greek Gods battling each other, humans behold in AWE.”

Being popular gives you the benefit of the gallery backstop to keep you out of any real trouble.

Damn, Rory. Another terrible tee shot. Looks like all the players have lost their blood sugar.

I’ll take a stab. I need something to distract me from my wife’s driving. frank Solich, Bill Snyder, Mike Gundy, Bob Stoops, Mack Brown, Mike Sherman…in drawing a blank on Kansas and Iowa State, I’ll take a stab that Missouri was Gary Pinkel, obligatory fuck Gary Barnett, and Baylor was either Guy Morris’s or Kevin Steele. I think Steele. And of course Leach replaced Spyke Dykes. of course Kansas at could be the Ron Prince era, and maybe Nebraska had already moved onto Pelini Piss Pants. im guessing I got at least 2/3 of that right. -
Fortunately, nobody was interested in me.

I have an ex-coworker who got married to a Texan in California, then immediately accepted a position to head up an office in Brazil. A couple years later, he and his new Brazilian family look like they're doing really well.

Shane Gillis is lumpy. He can be very funny, he can be very not funny. The awkward delivery style doesn't always help. The act the other night had its moments (the friend's wife as WNBA star in particular went hard) but he's no Ricky Gervais.
