  1. Past hour
  2. Botterup’s putting looks like mine
  3. “Summer Long Balls” was one of Ray Wylie Hubbard’s best songs. I’m pretty sure I’m remembering that right.
  4. NC State is still blocking out punts.
  5. Lets me ask you this sir? Do you know who the HC was at Tech before him? Or can you name all the head coaches in the big 12 when he took over the program. Im guessing more than 90% of this board couldn't name half on a good day without google. But you know Mike Leach. He was an offensive innovator in the sport and had a huge personality. That might not have equaled wins. But the Leach tree is big and significant. His contribution to the game can't be denied. Love him or hate him, his was a name. Be it his contribution or his personality. He might not have been someone a Bluebliod would hire. But tech and ol miss put butts in the seats. And produced an entertaining product. And I really think that's the most we can ask from those kinda schools.
  6. Yeah, you're probably good. You get UT acceptance/CAP/PACE/decline in late January to mid February, depending on how on top of their shit they are (they got 90K apps this year, so they fell a bit behind and had to send out the "give us another few weeks notice" in late January). You accept CAP agreement and pref campus in early March, so the two events are disconnected. A few other interesting things about CAP. One, only around a third of the students who take CAP end up at Texas. I have done some digging around on why that is. Of course, some of it is that they don't hack it, but the majority of it is that the kid in question ends up at whatever campus they end up at, decides they like it there, whatever they are pursuing, etc, and decides to stay....which has been the UT System's goal all along. That won't be my kid, but it sounds like it ends up being a lot of them. The second is that I have heard a lot of rumors that CAP is about to be wound down and retired in the near future. Nothing concrete but that's out there on the breeze.
  7. Can’t find my way home and midnight rider are two songs that I dint think were recorded in drop d but are fun to play that way.
  8. I watched Untamed, a murder mystery set in Yosemite. Eric Bana is a NPS investigator. Decent enough plot but the scenery, even if it is cgi, was worth it.
  9. Why not turn it down if it is such a difficult needle to thread? I don't like him, seen small bits and just didn't find him funny or even thought provoking, seemed like he focuses on low hanging fruit, but each to their own. I also can't recall the last time I watched the ESPY's and found the network has gone from what it was in its early days to the presumption they are a new organization taking themselves WAY TOO seriously. Based upon what you described and from what people describe his comedy it seems this was a situation he would relish because he would get to insult and offend as many people as possible which I never understood that style of comedy. Responding to a heckler is one thing, but insulting others?
  10. You musta missed that opener against NC State where we got FUCKED.
  11. no, no, no, they didn’t…
  12. Bravo. And the enchiladas from the kitchen therein.
  13. 1) Give him a break. He checked with the Head of HR and it was fine (I’m just assuming I’m not the first person to say that) 2) 55 years into having sex, my single mom blonde Cajun coworker from “back Vacherie”, as she called, still sits atop my record books for ‘best oral sex orgasm ever produced’. This is the same gal who would drive to my apartment when I was sick and give me homemade gumbo and blowjobs so I would feel better - and then leave. As I learned today from this thread, she may have had Brazilian ancestry. So let me just throw a, “not so fast, my friend” in here.
  14. Fitzpatrick's tee shot looked like one of mine.
  15. Make sure the trailhead parking areas are open. There is some construction along that area on them. Quandary is a good one but the parking fills up very, very fast. Get there early. You can also head to the Baldy Mountain trailhead and the the loop that goes to the Sallie Barber mine and then back to the Baldy trailhead. The Baldy trailhead has a lot of possibilities.
  16. Our first trip to Maine since moving to NY was to Boothbay Harbor and Red’s was enroute there. IIRC, I got the lobster roll and a basket of clam strips enjoyed them both. If it weren’t for the gd in Dallas I’d be tempted to retire on Maine coast.
  17. Fitz might have engaged Meltdown Mode. That was an awful tee shot.
  18. All fun and games until they told you to get in the barrel?
  19. when i see the word "gage" my brain renders this:
  20. I've only had the chance to go backstage twice. ZZ Top and Parliament Funkadelic, both over 25 years ago. Has nothing to do with this thread, but wanted to humblebrag a little.
  21. '53. It was still only a quarter in '61 when I was a freshman at Texas. A gallon of gas and a longneck were both $0.25 then.
