Fitz and Rory look like a couple of brothers out playing a round. They even walk similarly. -
Oh for sure, they shouldn't be releasing names outside of the families. And it's obviously great news...just poorly worded and unclear news.

Why wouldnβt a recruit shop an offer? They could be doing it for a few good reasons. First, they may want to flesh out whether Texasβ offer is truly best and final, in the hopes of having Texas move up. Second, they want to see how much more they could make elsewhere. That then allows them to make an informed decision. Even if a recruit is locked in to Texas, it makes sense to still do a check on the market. Posterβs angst is stupid, unless the recruit is lying to Texas. -
No shit. I'm surprised they didn't select a much smaller font size for the year.

Wait⦠They had face masks and helmet decals in 1939? Destined for the 75% off rack at Academy. Maybe

I'll take your word for it. Grinder?

Let's not let the truth get in the way of a good hit piece.

Finally, some good news. Kerr County has revised the number missing from over 160 down to 3. It's not entirely clear by the reporting how many of those no longer missing are actually alive, but they haven't revised the death toll upward, so I assume most of them were simply not in the area when the floods hit. We'll see.

This thread has officially become more entertaining than the actual Astros team. Sad dayβ¦

Man, that looks great for a Sunday lunch!!! -
The Late Show was losing $40 million a year, and CBS shut it down. The WNBA lost $40 million last year and the players want a raise.
-
For sure. Iβm loving this week and think the golf course is great. At least guys arenβt just slapping a 3i off every tee to avoid the bunkers like at Liverpool.
-
KY police. Probably the same ones that arrested Scotty.

It's funny as hell. But the reason general counsels hate the scenario is not just because she can say "I was afraid to break it off, because of retribution." It's scary because evey happily married person who *didn't* get a huge raise/promotion can allege they would have, if only they were sleeping with the boss. So the individuals that have the company over the barrel isn't just that one person, its virtually everyone. Corporate doesn't care if the line cook is fucking the waitress. But when its a boss, its a problem.

I don't know shit about fuck, but I think Cooper is quicker through the hole, I think playing both sides of the ball and being a track guy makes him a better fit for Sarks team. I wouldn't mind having either, both have high ceilings -
That and I sure wouldn't want my name on a list if I were just out on a trip and no one knew where I was. It would be ridiculous to release names.
-
If Sark screwed over the entire Texas team and entire fanbase/alumni base over the priority of 1 player then he's a pretty sorry coach. I guess we'll find out in a little over a month given who the opponent is.
-
It will put the WNBA in the black, but that could be short-lived if the TV demand is not sustained. If demand is not sustained or grown, they are just moving the losses from WNBA ownership/NBA over to the broadcasting companies. Unless someone wants it as a loss leader to sell toilet paper and cheap electronics (Amazon)...

It's like the player's association asked a PR firm for the 5 best and 5 worst slogan options for WNBA player promotion - and the player's association mixed up the lists. Group requests of "pay me what I am worth" have typically failed, largely because they are tone deaf. They are getting paid between $80k-$250k per year for 40 games and playoffs - in a presently money-losing business. Most (all?) finished 4 years of college; I would think at least one of them would have taken an economics or finance course. That said, there is a very "with us or against us" mindset in the WNBA. Economics be damned. Details of the WNBA finances are difficult to find, either because it was not interesting before last year or they are so bad, the NBA does not want to share how much it is funding. Some reports say 2024 revenue was $200mm, with a loss around $40mm. The entire salary pool for WNBA players is presently near $19.5mm (13 teams * 1.5mm per team - cap is lower, but some go over cap). That's about 1/12 of the overall costs using the revenue/loss numbers. For reference, NBA players earn around $5B on NBA revenue of $11B - overall profit of $3B. For the new CBA - here are some ideas... Players: Baseline revenue of $200mm. As revenue increases, so does our income. Up to 10%, end of season bonuses for each player commensurate with delta between baseline and revenue. Above 10%, salary cap, min salary, max salary increases. Above 25% ($250mm revenue), renegotiation of CBA is triggered). Owners: Revenue increases imply demand is increasing. We need more games. Salary cap increases will motivate game expansion. 2-4 more games per season (scheduling problems may occur). Perhaps the reasons are obvious (like the finances really are a mess), but player's association should dive deep into the finances. They may be willing to give up some of the "frills" that contribute to the $240mm expense - and to help the league become solvent. Maybe not
