I have no idea if the person who fed the lines into the LLM knew it or not, but George Lucas was originally slated to make Apocalypse Now for Francis Ford Coppola, and Lucas planned to shoot it on 16mm in Vietnam, in the early 70s, you know, while the Vietnam War was still raging. So yes, I found this very amusing. And it's a huge "What if" - what if Lucas goes through and makes Apocalypse Now? Does it do well? If not, does Star Wars never happen?

I’ll be honest. I had no idea who this man was before earlier this week. That’s mostly just because I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to much in the way of pop culture and whatnot. I found him to be funny. I know this is from fours years or so ago, but this bit made me laugh because it seems like something that’d actually happen in real life in this timeline.

What evidence do you have that Crowell is elite elite and Cooper is just very, very good? -

Elvis started following Shane Gillis

Shane is funny. I like his comedy. Tires is funny and low budget. The gun stuff in the second season proves a lot of @Derka’s points. I also like Jim Jeffries and Bill Burr. I’m not a fan of Tom Segura. That’s just for reference.

I'm not going to directly engage in any of the other various arguments Derka is getting into here - and I have mixed opinions on all of it - but this is not true. Shane blew up then he got absorbed into the Rogan borg and I am very confident that I have that timeline correct. That said - he hasn't really needed Rogan for anything - and among Rogan and Tony Hinchcliffe's crew Shane is the most marketable and enjoying the greatest PUBLIC commercial success of any of them including Joe and Tony (because Rogan obviously makes stupid money behind the scenes...). If anything Shane elevates their whole operation. Kind of like Adam Ray. He is an elite stand-up, his podcast produces a ton of funny clips, and he has this All-American, aw-shucks vibe to him that is non-threatening enough to get him gigs like hosting the ESPYs. All of his success - however - all of it - mainly stems from how killer he is on stage. You can like him or his comedy or not - but that is a fact.

I don't even know how to feel about this season. I feel like we somehow overachieved to start the season given the injuries and iffy offensive production. But, at this point we are trotting out a AAAA lineup on a consistent basis (not much Espada can do about that) and gonna be even worse now that Paredes is out for weeks. Not sure we have enough farm system depth to be able to plug the holes at the trade deadline at this point.

Just got home from tonight's sold out show at the Moody Theater. 2nd stop of his current standup tour that started in Houston last night. 3 warmup comics, who were all very funny, then a long, funny show from Mo. The DJs playing beforehand said they had big surprises in store, & I saw the stage set up for a band, but I didn't think too much of it. When Mo was done, he brought out Robert Glasper & his crew. They played for a while, including backing up Mo singing Minnie the Moocher and What a Wonderful World, before Mo brought out one more guest to play - Gary Clark, Jr. What an amazing and unexpected bonus on top of a bunch of great standup. Awesome night.

We aren't getting Roseboroug. The staff is all in on Lee. I guess if Roseborough picked up the phone and said he wants in, I doubt the staff would turn him away. As for Cooper, he's a really good player, but he's a notch below Crowell. Crowell is elite elite. Cooper is very, very good. There's a difference. I'm not some hudl expert, but the difference in theirs is drastic. Not to mention Crowell has been on one side of the ball his entire career, as far as I know. Cooper played defense and offense. Coopers rushing yards from last season don't inspire a lot of confidence that he can cone in and be a bell cow, but who the fuck knows? -
