  2. Are you seriously worried that the football team might be overlooking LSU based on what is being posted on a fan internet message board?

  3. I admit I chugged the Kool aid early on. We're getting a hard nosed disciplinarian, just what we need after cookies and orange slices, yada yada yada. I live in the Midwest and actually went to South Bend, Manhattan and Ames for each of those fiascos. After Ames I just checked out. When Iowa State fans avoid eye contact because they feel sorry for you, you know you've hit rock bottom.

  7. Playing a really bad opponent makes it difficult to draw any but the most elementary conclusions. FCS Georgia Southern fits that description to a T. Poor, one-dimensional offense led to short drives ending in punt or turnover. Consequently LSU was on a short field all night. GSU's defense was in a 2 high safety look with 5-6 man box most of the night. Usually that's an invitation to run. It also makes it difficult to disguise blitzes and coverage schemes. LSU generally used about half of the 40 second play clock. That is definitely faster than last year. It may give some SEC opponents difficulty but it's old hat to Orlando. That's a standard to slow pace in the Big XII. The replay video missed the first drive but of Burrow's 21 pass attempts I saw, he completed 18 of them. I frankly didn't believe the stat line when I saw 24 of 27 but it makes a lot more sense on viewing. What I saw was dominated by ultra-short pass completions (5 yards or less) with many of them behind the LOS. 12 of the 18 completions were in the ultra-short zone. 5 were clearly behind the line. All of those should have been in front of the defender. Of the other 6 completed passes, 3 were short (6-10 yds), 2 intermediate (11 and 16 yds) and one long (35 yds). Average completion was 5 yds past the LOS. YAC against simple, static scheme and inferior athletes seems to have accounted for approximately half the passing yardage. It definitely helped that GSU couldn't get any pressure (zero sacks and QBH). What is interesting to me is that what was already a mediocre LSU running game last season managed to look worse against such a weak opponent. 3.7 YPC when there were no sacks to distort the average is not good. That's doubly true where the opponent makes no special effort to stop the run. After watching the game, it's clear that the OL still has a serious problem giving up penetration. LSU surrendered 7 TFLs and they are fortunate that the number was so low. GSU defenders were in the backfield repeatedly. They just weren't athletic enough to finish the play in many cases. The number of TFLs could easily have been double against a better defense. LSU's OL were also pretty poor trying to pick off defenders in space in the screen game. The WRs did a much better job blocking on the perimeter than the linemen. Pluses: Burrow showed good accuracy even if the passes were mostly very easy. He got the ball out quickly 70-75% of the time. No sacks and very little pressure allowed. Only 2 drops by the WRs. Minuses: No consistent running game. OL still looked slow and could not keep defenders out of gaps. Not really tested or challenged since week 1 opponent was terribad. Conclusion: Burrow was very accurate throwing short passes to initial pre-snap reads or short check downs with 4-5 seconds in the pocket and minimal pressure. He's still hit or miss on intermediate to long balls. He won't have many clear reads next week. I doubt he'll have anywhere near that amount of time or protection either. Not being tested yet, we have no idea if that accuracy will hold up when screens don't get it done or he has a defender in his face. A lot of the bubble screens and short hitches will get stopped on the spot by better defenses. Throwing the ball a bunch against a bad defense that has no ability to turn you over or create negative plays is low risk. It often translates poorly against good defenses, Just ask Mike Leach. I have even less concern about LSU's running game now than before week 1. An FCS team stopped them pretty well just playing an honest box. That's a lot worse than the bowl game where a G5 defense had to load the box to achieve a slightly better result (against the run at least). I can see Texas playing a lot of dime with a 5 man box (3-2) and 2 overhangs

If anyone is still dumb enough to polish the resume of the worst coach in Texas’ history I recommend you get on YouTube and rewatch: 1. 2014 BYU 41-7 loss 2. 2014 UCLA both halves deferred special 3. 2014 KSU shutout 4. 2014 TCU 48-10 massacre 5. 2014 Texas Bowl 59 yard offense special 6. 2015 ND opener “new and improved” spread offense special 7. 2015 TCU 50-0 in 3rd qtr 8. 2015 Iowa fucking State shutout loss 9. 2016 Cal dropping 50 on Charlie’s 3rd year defense special 10. 2016 OSU 3 fucking extra points blocked 11. 2016 Kansas’ first win over a Big12 team in 2 years We can talk after you’re done with that.

  10. We don’t give two shits what you think you mouth-breathing, sister-fucking, neanderthal. Your head coach has the IQ of the shit my dog took this morning, and no coach has ever been more reflective of his team’s fan base. Your university is a joke, your state is a joke, and I’m honestly shocked you were able to muster the brain power to post on an Internet forum. Other than that, enjoy Austin this weekend and best of luck!

  11. I used to be embarrassed when foreigners would justly make fun of an American President. Even if I didn't vote for the president, I still felt a connection to him as a representative of the United States. Now, I cheer every snub and insult because they're braver and more honest than the most important people of my own country. Nobody should shake this fucker's hand. Nobody need show restraint in regularly referring to this parasite as a liar. Every mention of Trump should call him either anti-democratic or anti-American for his declarations of whom should go back to where they came from or whom is an enemy of the state or what traditional institutions foster treason. Every Democrat ought to say that they are part of the squad. They won't because they're as always timid. The four congresswomen should not be standing alone. Don't distance yourself out of fear, embrace them and their honesty with courage. If you go down, at least you can respect yourself. Allowing Trump to declare the squad as anti-American without rising as a single, furious voice is typical of the pathetic party I vote for. "Let's tippy toe to a victoy, boys!"

  12. SEC Rant is seriously upset that our fans actually believe in our team or have the audacity to talk trash. Apparently we're being cocky and arrogant. Have they spent five minutes reading their own board? We're being mean because we don't recognize LSU and the SEC are comparable to the NFL while the "BDF" and every other conference in college football is comparable to pee wee football. We should be thankful just for being graced with their presence and the chance to witness greatness. Upset that we're not kissing the ring. Fuck them, fuck their new Big 12-lite offense, fuck their backup choice Shrek on the sidelines, fuck the use of the word frick, and fuck A&M fans who think their school suddenly learned how to play football just because they put a different patch on their jerseys.

  13. This moment is the absolute best time to be aggy. The team is fresh off their meaningless win agains a far inferior opponent and the anticipation of their own coming greatness is fresh, new and electric. There are 6 full days of wishing, hoping and postulating “if...” this is the prime time to be an aggy. When all your accomplishments are still possible and you are brimming with promise and excitement for the new era which is undoubtedly near. You can see the end of your goals, they are in sight although the farther you swim and the closer the shore seems you are never quite able to get there, paddling endlessly and exhausted into the vast horizon forever adrift on the sea of dreams. gig them

  17. There's certainly not just those two types of people in the world. That's a very naive take on the world and humanity in general. And I think JimmyJames' post went over your head. Not to oversimplify the issue, but a drug addict's drug of choice fills an insatiable need that leads to compulsive and irrational behavior to placate that need. The same way that you will find a way to sleep when you get tired enough, eat when you're hungry enough, or fight to get above water when you can't hold your breath any longer, a drug addict will do whatever it takes to get their fix until they find recovery. That is why the prohibition of drugs and alcohol is ineffective. If tomorrow the government made a law that the possession and consumption of food is illegal, you would become the type of person who doesn't follow laws. Now you might be thinking that comparing using drugs to eating is ridiculous, but it's not to an addict whose brain has been wired that way. It's the same type of craving. That does not apply to guns, and we know gun laws work because we can point to any number of countries in the western world where they do. That's not to say a criminal won't ever get his hands on a gun or a mass shooting will never happen again when the person is motivated enough, but if you make it difficult enough you save tons of lives from people who won't go through the costs and effort of finding a gun. Or possibly at least delay them enough to where they might have a moment of clarity and come to their senses. The AWB of the 1990's saw a decrease in gun violence that predictably increased again once it expired. I'd gladly take my chances on gun prohibition before depending on the "good guy with the gun" who rarely ever shows up in these scenarios.

  18. 1-4 - I was thinking "well ok, that sucks but first year it'll take some time to iron it out" #5 - I was thinking "holy shit, what the fuck? 59 yards after all of the bowl preparation". That's when I officially became worried. #6 - I remember Burt's awesome catch in the beginning of the game and nothing else, tequila. I do remember watching how pissed Ricky was in the postgame though. #10 - The 3 blocked XPs were so ridiculous it was silly. That's one I couldn't even be mad at, I was like "fuck it". I actually started laughing at the absurdity of the spectacle. I think that's the one that broke me, I went from being pissed to not giving a shit. By the time we got to #11 on that list I wasn't angry anymore, it was more like a quiet reservation. The loss to Kansas felt like the moment when you're holding your dog one final time as the vet puts the needle in his arm, that was the death knell of Charlie at Texas. Looking back, I don't know how the fuck we managed to keep our sanity during that stretch.

  29. Holy shit. This Spider2YBanana guy has to be stopped. I don’t know what he’s posting because he’s on ignore, and frankly, he’s really hard to read even when quoted, but the volume when he’s around is overwhelming. He’s like a text tsunami of insipid word vomit. What makes it worse now is he’s the poster attempting to deal with opposing fans coming in for drive-bys. Other people can’t even get a word in edgewise. This cannot happen all season. So, if we start a gofundme and raise like $5k, can we pay him to go inhabit another fanbase’s board somewhere? I’m just spitballing. I’m open to anything. We can buy him an Internet-free vacation to Vancouver that ends in mid-January for all I care.
