  1. Just popped up in my facebook feed. Came to shaggy just before this game to try to get a read on Texas football (found by thujone's UT pimp MSpaint). Pregaming at Scholz beer garten (or just outside I think in this pic) before my first visit to DKR. And then went inside Awaiting the incoming

  3. That's weird, I didn't get any West Side Story ads when I watched the video. All I saw were ads for dick pills and gay cruises. I guess it just shows random ads.

  4. The incessant equivocation in these Looch chats between feigned momentary perception of reality and indomitable blind homerism is absolutely delicious. I’d be surprised if there aren’t big changes this week, but I don’t think there will be big changes because there don’t need to be. I’m not going to say that we’ll win the national championship next year, but we’re still on track to win the national championship next year. I need to see more from this team, but there’s no need to be concerned. Second year coaches often lose 3 or 5 or 6 games and still win the national championship in their third year. It happens all the time. Jimbo just needs to push his players more to stop making so many mistakes. (Apparently, coaching is simultaneously the problem and the solution.) They’re going to tinker with the options they don’t have on defense. Mond is going to run more, but not much more. Losing Corbin and Williams hurts, but Cordarrian Richardson is the savior. Our TEs don’t know what they are doing, but are elite. (Maybe they are elite at not knowing what they are doing?) We can start stronger in games by being more aggressive earlier, but we’re already being aggressive enough early. Mond is Justin Herbert, but better. Jimbo is Nick Saban, but he is the most honest coach I’ve ever seen and doesn't hide behind HIPPA. Auburn has the best defensive line in the country and probably maybe the best in the SEC. Unlike the Clemson and Auburn games, we are going to try to beat Arkansas and not just run out of time run out the clock. Aggy is the great paradox of our time--truly a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, if there ever was one. The only key is the aggy collective delusion.

  6. Nobody is disputing that Bama has been great under Saban, or that Florida was great under Meyer - or even that Auburn was great for one year when they bought the best player in the sport. What is fucking asinine is the common refrain by talking heads and idiot fans that implies that "SEC football" is an entirely different and superior) sport than what everyone else plays. You hear it all the time - "SEC speed," "SEC defenses," blah blah blah. It's not that Alabama is overrated - it's that Vandy and Kentucky and Tennessee and South Carolina and Miss and MSU and A&M, and to a lesser extent Auburn and Georgia, are overrated because they play in the SEC. Most teams in that conference are wildly overrated. That's why it's annoying. That and the fact that on-field results never seem to have any effect on this SEC dogma - Georgia lost to Texas because they were disinterested, not because their archaic offense was completely suffocated by better coaching when matched against similar athletes; Missouri, a perennial B12 also-ran wins the SEC East twice in its first 3 years in that conference; A&M's best years in the SEC were their first 2 - after defecting from the B12 (where they weren't particularly good); etc.

  8. The only way to really settle this argument (about the relative strength of conferences) would be to swap a few teams from the Big XII into the SEC and see how they do. If, in this crazy hypothetical, say a mid pack Big XII team wins its SEC division after the swap, then we would have a good idea about which conference is tougher. But that will never happen, so we have this thread.

  10. Quick update to my existential meltdown last week. Poster on here got me in touch with a friend at a state agency who can help with low vision/blindness. That person got my info to a local state worker. Been taking Uber to work and co-worker giving me rides home. Employer sent me some ADA paperwork in case I need it for any equipment/accommodations at work. No booze, much gratitude.

  12. Aggy pays Jimbo about $1M per win. It sounds ridiculous at first, but when you consider the quality injury reports, it's actually a much better deal than initially thought.

  15. Took a run at some Brown Butter Gnocchi for the first time. Did it with guanciale. I've heard it's better than pancetta, but I've never cooked with it before. It was a better texture and overall just felt like a better cut of meat (and fat), but it was a lot saltier. It's not super easy to find so I just took whatever they had at my local Italian grocer, but I wonder if with a little more research, I could find some that wasn't cured so heavily in salt. Anyway, I figured it out pretty quickly in the process, so I just adjusted accordingly and kept my salt levels low throughout everything else. Each piece was about a half pound and I only used one as I didn't want to overpower it with too much. Cubed the guanciale and prepped about half an onion, some garlic and some mushrooms. In one pan on low heat, melted about a stick and a half of butter and infused it with some garlic cloves and fresh basil. I think you're supposed to use sage leaves here, but I only had basil so I went with it, just something to brighten it up a little. In a separate pan, sauteed guanciale, onions, mushrooms and garlic. After dropping the gnocchi in boiling water for about 3 minutes, strained and added to brown butter after removing basil and garlic cloves. Bring it up to medium heat, add the meat and shrooms and let it all cook together. I also hit it with a squirt of lemon here which was a much needed pop of acidity. This is a really rich, rustic dish and upon tasting, it needed to be brightened up a little. The squirt of lemon was the perfect balance. Serve with a little fresh basil and of course...fresh grated parmigiano reggiano.

  18. Seriously? -- Trump blocks aid that was on the way -- Trump says you know, we do a lot for you financially. I'm not saying it has to be reciprocal, but... I do have a favor to ask -- Trump says, it would be great if you investigated the server and Biden's involvement in the investigation. Will you talk to Barr and Rudy? -- Zelensky says yes -- Trump says great, I have a feeling your economy will be improving very soon. That's about as clear cut as it gets. And that's just from a sanitized transcript of one call in a series of transactions reportedly detailed in the whistleblower complaint.

  19. Even for aggy, this all seems pretty far-fetched. I mean when has a rumor about A&M that started on a UT site ever taken root so strongly that it’s now universally considered an established fact?

  23. 500 days down. Literally, the last time I had 500 days without a drink would been sometime in my childhood. I've done enough of what they told me to do for 500 days in a row and it's worked. It hasn't always been easy but it's always been manageable, since the management takes place at the level of the God of my understanding rather than in my own brain. I owe my sponsor a gratitude list and while I didn't really want to be awake at 3:20 in the morning working on it (sick as a dog and can't sleep), I'm grateful that I'm alive in this nice, quiet house with my wife and daughter sleeping, about to sit down with a cup of coffee and make a list of the things that make me smile. I would not be here today without the grace of God and without Alcoholics Anonymous. And for THAT, I am grateful.

  25. Stallings is a family friend. And I can’t stand him. He’s a world class asshole. He used to hunt at my granddads ranch in South Texas. One time he was hunting and was supposed to kill an 8 point management buck. I’m hunting nearest to him so I drive him in my Jeep and drop him off. My stand is less than 1,000 yards away. It was a calm morning with no wind. I hear him shoot. I knew it was him. The next closest hunter was a couple miles away. If you hunt a lot like me, you know the difference between a hit and a miss by the sound. This was a clear hit. So i wait about an hour and go pick him up. I’m 24 at the time. He’s probably in his 60s. This was 2001. I pull up in the Jeep and ask him where the deer is. He says he missed. I asked if he was sure. He said he was. I asked again and say it sure sounded like a hit. He said he missed and that he was shooting at an 8 point 400 yards the opposite direction of the feeder. That sounded like bullshit. But I didn’t want to argue with my granddads friend. So we get in the Jeep and go drive that way looking for blood. Find nothing after looking for 20 minutes. Head back to camp to eat. After breakfast I grab my cousin (age 18) and we go back. We drive to the feeder. There is blood everywhere. And a dead yearling 6 point 50 yards from the feeder on the edge of the brush. This was opening morning. So it was his kill. Fucking liar. But an aggy never lies, cheats or steals right? We told my granddad and took the deer back to clean and tag (mld). Not sure if he ever said anything. But that fucker never was invited back. Everyone makes mistakes hunting and it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal. But he lied his ass off to me. Bonus story. That trip we flew down in my granddad’s King Air. The plan was for Gene, my cousin and me to fly back. Drop Gene off in Dallas and then my cousin and me in Houston. But when we took off we learned Dallas was fogged in. So pilots decided to fly to Houston to drop us off, get more fuel and then take Gene to Dallas when the fog was cleared. We were on the way when pilots told him of change of plans. God he was pissed and yelled at the pilots. I guess that dumb fucking aggy wanted to cruise around Dallas and run out of fuel waiting for the fog to clear. One more about him. We had one tv at the ranch back then. A big screen in the lodge. I had the remote and was watching Texas play someone decent. Think it was a Big 12 team like K State or Okie State. Back then the sec sucked and was boring as shut with the run, run pass punt crap. He wanted to watch shitty ass Bama play some other boring sec team. Remember, this is 2001. We are in the national title hunt. Bama is shit and whatever team they played was shit. I told him no. I was watching Texas and wasn’t changing the channel. Zero fucks given. I have a low opinion of that aggy.

  26. She’s a member of a cult. She views Trump as some kind of tortured messiah. Why? Because he says so. Never mind he’s a rich turd who’s never earned a fair buck and has never done a single kind thing for another human being in his wretched life. He got up on the TV and said we should lock up brown people and That Awful Hillary, promised to make our every sad dream come true, and then recounted how mean everyone is to him. He’s a hero. A saint. A god. Because he said so. Times like these peel back the veneer of humanity and reveal just how fucking pathetic our species is. Most of us are stupid and selfish. It’s sad. The robot overlords can’t take over soon enough.

If she trapped him in amber and used his DNA to open a theme park, how would that not constitute recklessness under the TPC?"
