Stallings is a family friend. And I can’t stand him. He’s a world class asshole. He used to hunt at my granddads ranch in South Texas. One time he was hunting and was supposed to kill an 8 point management buck. I’m hunting nearest to him so I drive him in my Jeep and drop him off. My stand is less than 1,000 yards away. It was a calm morning with no wind. I hear him shoot. I knew it was him. The next closest hunter was a couple miles away. If you hunt a lot like me, you know the difference between a hit and a miss by the sound. This was a clear hit. So i wait about an hour and go pick him up. I’m 24 at the time. He’s probably in his 60s. This was 2001. I pull up in the Jeep and ask him where the deer is. He says he missed. I asked if he was sure. He said he was. I asked again and say it sure sounded like a hit. He said he missed and that he was shooting at an 8 point 400 yards the opposite direction of the feeder. That sounded like bullshit. But I didn’t want to argue with my granddads friend. So we get in the Jeep and go drive that way looking for blood. Find nothing after looking for 20 minutes. Head back to camp to eat. After breakfast I grab my cousin (age 18) and we go back. We drive to the feeder. There is blood everywhere. And a dead yearling 6 point 50 yards from the feeder on the edge of the brush. This was opening morning. So it was his kill. Fucking liar. But an aggy never lies, cheats or steals right? We told my granddad and took the deer back to clean and tag (mld). Not sure if he ever said anything. But that fucker never was invited back. Everyone makes mistakes hunting and it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal. But he lied his ass off to me. Bonus story. That trip we flew down in my granddad’s King Air. The plan was for Gene, my cousin and me to fly back. Drop Gene off in Dallas and then my cousin and me in Houston. But when we took off we learned Dallas was fogged in. So pilots decided to fly to Houston to drop us off, get more fuel and then take Gene to Dallas when the fog was cleared. We were on the way when pilots told him of change of plans. God he was pissed and yelled at the pilots. I guess that dumb fucking aggy wanted to cruise around Dallas and run out of fuel waiting for the fog to clear. One more about him. We had one tv at the ranch back then. A big screen in the lodge. I had the remote and was watching Texas play someone decent. Think it was a Big 12 team like K State or Okie State. Back then the sec sucked and was boring as shut with the run, run pass punt crap. He wanted to watch shitty ass Bama play some other boring sec team. Remember, this is 2001. We are in the national title hunt. Bama is shit and whatever team they played was shit. I told him no. I was watching Texas and wasn’t changing the channel. Zero fucks given. I have a low opinion of that aggy.37 points

So, it sounds like they'd still take two more WRs out of the remaining three that they've been working on. Dixon brings the advantage of being a potential nickel or gadget back as well. Sounds like they want Fuonji to visit, they're working Dixon hard, and if nothing falls with both of them, that LVBS visit will happen. The desire to take four guys if they can get them is driven by new thoughts around attrition. It's reasonable to assume Moore ain't coming back and that someone like maybe a Woodard will want to transfer. They're at 21 + 2 WRs + Ringo + JUCO LB or White = 25 There's a decent shot that they could hit the max number, in my mind. Also decent shot of finishing at 23. While I recognize that multiple $9.95ers are stating that the Ringo hope is more fleeting than a fart in the wind, I continue to believe that Texas has more than a puncher's chance, for multiple reasons. Not the least of which is that there are major smoking embers inside the UGA camp being stoked by early rumors of an NCAA investigation.25 points

They're claiming that rumors of TAMU players getting into a fight after the game are coming from Herman and that, therefore, Herman and his staff are liars... But also, Herman and his staff are lazy (but apparently not too lazy to use moments immediately following a big victory over oSu to fabricate tales about TAMU's locker room and post them on numerous message boards). But apparently these calculating, conniving Texas coaches are not smart enough to post them on TAMU message boards, but only to post them on Texas message boards. And recruits and their families are "realizing" this...15 points

If you don't think Eagles and Smith are explosive playmakers, I don't know what to tell you. And they'll have another full year of Yancy/training and a lot more targets without CJ/Duvernay around.14 points

It’s the reason I lost all respect for His Holiness Robert Mueller. He hid behind “purview” and “bailiwick” and “I’d refer you to the report” for six hours, fully aware our POTUS had opened himself (and the country) up to blackmail. All because he reportedly didn’t want to get dragged into partisan crossfire. This whistleblower has 100 times the patriotism and courage that Mueller has.13 points

It's definitely a new article of impeachment. Pelosi needs to have a brain and not adjourn the House. Keep the pressure on. Dotard is cracking. And it's going to lead to a Colonel Jessup moment.13 points

No it's not. Frederick H. Fleitz (born 1962) is an American government official, analyst, and commentator. He is the President and CEO of the Center for Security Policy, serving since January 2019.[1] He previously served as the Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary of the National Security Council from May through October 2018, during the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.8 points

Oh I am a little bit obsessed with them. They are really amazing. I mean we have cursed schools in College Football. We know Oklahoma State will always fuck it up against OU. We know Iowa State will have their dreams crushed. We know most of the schools in the Big 10 have nothing but their trophies and grainy black and white images from the 1950s to keep them warm during the long winter months. But nobody experiences the same season over and over and over and over again without it ever really impacting them like Texas A&M. Nobody acts like they have Patriot results when they are in fact the New York Jets like Texas A&M. Nobody puffs out their chests and brags about their glorious fake history like Texas A&M. They are truly amazing. Every once in a while you think "Oh well A&M is finally starting to lose its weirdness and is coming back down to earth, it was fun while it lasted" but no like a phoenix they restore themselves and go forth again to do the same thing.7 points

It stems from a comment Herman made during an interview while at UH. Here's the excerpt: We understand the price of a championship. That price is the same for Alabama as it is for Ohio State and UH. In order to pay that price, you've got to be willing to invest. There's a price for nine-win seasons and prices for eight-, seven-, six-win seasons. Those prices are a lot easier to pay. And if you're satisfied with going 7-5 and going to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl, then great. Then you're in the wrong program and we'll find a place for you to go. I hear there's a private school up in Dallas that's really looking to try to get to seven wins. We can certainly find you a home.6 points

Let's check in with our resident "sane" aggie and see how his predictions are going thru 1/4 of the season. I think it pretty much holds up, maybe a tiny bit closer to pushing the oline into the "possibly" category, but overall pretty spot on.6 points

Nobody is disputing that Bama has been great under Saban, or that Florida was great under Meyer - or even that Auburn was great for one year when they bought the best player in the sport. What is fucking asinine is the common refrain by talking heads and idiot fans that implies that "SEC football" is an entirely different and superior) sport than what everyone else plays. You hear it all the time - "SEC speed," "SEC defenses," blah blah blah. It's not that Alabama is overrated - it's that Vandy and Kentucky and Tennessee and South Carolina and Miss and MSU and A&M, and to a lesser extent Auburn and Georgia, are overrated because they play in the SEC. Most teams in that conference are wildly overrated. That's why it's annoying. That and the fact that on-field results never seem to have any effect on this SEC dogma - Georgia lost to Texas because they were disinterested, not because their archaic offense was completely suffocated by better coaching when matched against similar athletes; Missouri, a perennial B12 also-ran wins the SEC East twice in its first 3 years in that conference; A&M's best years in the SEC were their first 2 - after defecting from the B12 (where they weren't particularly good); etc.5 points
