  4. Everyone, prepare yourself around noonish. Don’t be alarmed by the sudden boom, or any shaking crockery and cabinet doors. No reason for alarm. It will just be the sonic boom emanating out of various aggy recruiting websites from the hyper-speed backpedaling they’re doing in regards to Jordan Thomas.

  5. I think wet markets need to be banned. They are Ford in my analogy. Trump is the distracted driver. The issue isn't that China is blameless when it comes to the initial spread of this virus from bats to humans. Its that some Americans seem to want to bear no responsibility at all for their own actions. China's response to the virus has been infinitely better than ours. This isn't the first virus in history. It won't be the last. Even if wet markets dissapear completely, there will always be another virus. We need to fix our response plan. Our economy shut down because of us, not China. It has been prolonged because of us, not China. The fact is that the "world's greatest country" doesn't give a shit about its own citizens, so we also have the shittiest stopgap plan in the industrialized world. The fact that a virus has polarized our populace even more than it was already is also on us, not China. We are a failed state because of us, not China. We were on the brink and dysfunctional well before the virus. All it did is expose our dysfunction. So while you are eager to shift blame elsewhere and pretend we are okay, it just isn't going to happen. You are going to have to take a cold hard look at our own flaws if you want the country to keep moving forward. It isn't ever going back to what it was.

  10. This is a Rouchefoucauld. The thinnest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is the sports watch of the '80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail!

  11. Yes, because waiters are briefly walking by only a few people - their fellow colleagues in the restaurant (host/hostess, other waiters, cooks/chefs), people coming to the restaurant to pick up food orders for delivery, and now people coming to dine-in. Certainly the people who are stupidly dining in can't eat with their mouth covered, can they? Sure maybe other restaurant workers are wearing masks, but not all of the delivery boys. Oh and complete misapplication of the term Karen. I don't understand how someone allegedly in healthcare can make the type of posts that you do. For the sake of the American people, I just hope you are not in a position of authority.

  12. Maybe unpopular opinion thread: But people baby the fuck out of cast iron. “Oh noes two ml of liquid soap hit my cast iron, better sand blast it down to base metal and spend the next 3 months seasoning before I actually use it for cooking a meal. My mother in law used an aluminum spatula on my comal! Sigh, just going to sell it for scrap and look for another vintage griddle online!” Meanwhile the thing that makes them great is Po Campo banging them down the trail in the wagon with miles of dust slowly sticking to last nights lard before it gets shoved directly onto the coals or WW2 widows cooking morning eggs in last nights grease with a couple charred onions still clinging to the side. Wipe it down throw some Crisco on it for an hour at 375 and it’ll be damn near the same as it was 17 years ago. It is cast iron not Waterford Crystal.

  14. It happens when you get a bunch of uneducated, low IQ individuals who are tired of living like uneducated, low IQ people live. So they tell themselves they aren't stupid, YOU are stupid. They know better because guns and freedom! And while they're proud to cosplay in camo, you won't find them anywhere near a recruiting station.

  18. On all of those you have direct control over food temperature and hand washing before anything touches your mouth/face. When you dine in you don't have control. Even if you go wash when you get there how well if at all were the menus disinfected? How many places are thoroughly disinfecting the shakers/sugar packet containers/drink menus? How many other situations are you in relatively close proximity to other people sans mask in the same room for 40+ minutes? The variables are too great to properly control in that setting. Yeah, there's risk in everything right now but only an idiot wouldn't look at relative risk. Comparing the risk of dining in to going through the self checkout at Kroger fully masked and taking proper precautions is like comparing the risk of letting your kid cross your neighborhood street vs crossing I35. The other problem is while the risk to an individual is definitely increased, the risk gets magnified exponentially when you talk about millions of people doing this every week going forward. Doing this without proper oversight in place and without the ability to know without a 14-21 day lag how deadly it's being just to not have to pay low income workers unemployment benefits during a pandemic is criminal.

  19. I've enjoyed watching people I know on Facebook decide that all the experts all over the world have been dead wrong, so in these times we must turn to the real pros on epidemiology and pathology: Candace Owens, Bill Mitchell and a guy who runs a doc in a box clinic in Bakersfield.

  22. You're going to have to provide me with some convincing evidence to prove that is anything more than a bullshit conspiracy theory. Don't fall for the trap. Our economies are too intertwined to wage biological warfare on each other and global society is too interconnected to target one people with a pathogen like the coronavirus without targeting all of them around the globe. That wouldn't make sense.

  23. Internet tough hag is my favorite, Karen. Tells everyone on the board they don’t have balls right before she pulls the “you’re bullying this poor old woman” card and then when everyone gets mad at her she says she’s leaving for a week only to start posting 12 hours later.

  27. Any family barbeque my dad hosted. We lived in a tiny 2 bedroom cinder block house a block behind my parents grocery store and meat market. Several times a year dad would fire up his barrel pit and cook brisket and chicken and sausage. We always had aunts and uncles and cousins drive in from all over the state to visit and scarf down dads' primo BBQ. We had 2 of the old coca cola metal coolers packed with Big Red and Coca Cola. I remember the smell of mesquite smoke waking me up waaaayyy before sunrise and going out and hanging with dad while he tended the pit. That's about 55 years in the rear view mirror, but I swear it seems like I can still smell the smoke today.

  32. They’ve got themselves stuck in a unique situation. They are openly paying players. They openly tell players they do not have to go to class. Even going back to Jimbos FSU days, his locker rooms aren’t exactly full of culture fits. There are normally different types of recruitments. Recruits who have somewhat clean recruitments with parents and coaches involved. These kids want to go to strong programs that win on the field, but are also disciplined. These kids won’t consider aggy right off the bat. Then you gave recruits with elite talent that want a payday. Aggy will get a foot in the door with these guys. Here’s the problem... the elite sec teams pay as well and why would any kid with talent choose to go to a perennial loser program over Bama, LSU, UGA, etc. This is how they end up with random recruits from the east coast or Florida that have never visited that all of the sudden commit. These are usually guys with some talent with their hands out but don’t have committable offers from the elite schools. They pick aggy, get their payday. This is who aggy lands. These guys are mercenaries that will transfer the first chance they get if they don’t get playing time. Obviously there are exceptions but this basically Jimbo’s recruiting strategy.
