  2. I am a Christian and I try the best I can to set a good example, but fuck this virus. On April 22nd the music minister from my church in The Bronx passed away alone where he lived at in Harlem. I did not want to ask what he passed away from when I got the call from one of my fellow singers in the choir. I was told though a few days ago that he had Covid and was telling everyone the day before in a Zoom meeting for the choir (I missed this meeting and regret it now) that he was beating Covid and he would be back one day singing and leading us in worship when we could go back to church. He was gone the next night. Gary Samuels was a great human being with a powerful voice. He sang in over 30 countries and had tributes paid to him from around the world online because of the impact he made on people through singing. He was so kind to me and he gave me some materials to learn how to play the keyboard so I could, in his words, take his place and give him a break one day. I remember I told him one day during rehearsal that I couldn't hit a high note and that my voice was just naturally deeper. He could hit ALL the high notes and he tells me "Yes you can you are just being lazy". He was right on that because I was being lazy. I hope when we can all gather again that we can give him the homegoing he deserves. If you happen to watch it the saxophone player also plays at my church every Sunday morning when we are able to go. I remember seeing him perform at Showman's Jazz Club down the street from the Apollo back in February and I felt something tell me I would never see this man perform again. Sad that that is the case. Fuck this virus, fuck this stupid ass worthless president for being the cause of people like my music minister dying because of blatant inaction and fuck every last one of these idiots on here and around the country who keep supporting a completely sick piece of shit like Dotard. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. He cares about himself and that's it and everyday you keep supporting him you are enabling his behavior and will forever be a part of this and are as guilty as he is for what is going on. A lot of us have lost friends and family members because of this clownshow in Washington and enough is just enough.

  5. There's so much bullshit out there I stopped trying to educate people on most of the garbage posted. Apathy sucks but at first you were able to provide some good info and show people where not to look. Now it's such a clusterfuck you don't know where to start. It's pretty deflating as a physician trying to do the right thing. I didn't even have the energy to shit on Moderna's terrible study that sent stocks to the moon yesterday. Of course, I am human and did get a good laugh out of the crash back down today. They fucking spoke out of their ass when our dumb fatfuck of a president assembled a round table of 'experts' on when a vaccine could be manufactured by. I should have been in that god damn thing and said I already have one made of HCQ and clorox bleach...a proprietary blend. I just need the 4 billion to get it to the masses. I'm fairly certain I'd have been given some serious funds. Then when nothing pans out...make like Trump himself and ride the next grift. As long as someone in your company can stomach kissing his bloated ass, you'll always be good to go. Anyways, fuck C19, but fuck our dipshit president even more. At least C19 may force his morbidly obese ass to the sidelines, or grave. He sure as shit isn't going to do anything about C19.

  10. Hey new guy, it's a message board. Folks are prone to making flippant comments and tongue in cheek accusations that they probably don't 100% believe. Especially on a website like this one. Maybe you should take that into account when you attempt to measure tone and before you respond with 100% seriousness and intensity to some guy's throw away joke he's probably not all that invested in in the first place. You seem fairly invested on the Hager train, so maybe take a deep breath, or maybe consider thickening up your skin a bit while you get the lay of the land before you dive head first into the deep end. Would you have preferred it if he had subbed "wild-man" instead of psychotic? That being said, Hager gave bizarre interviews, cried like a bitch on the sidelines on multiple occasions, was not a great player while being an outspoken penalty machine, and sported the hair of someone not of Polynesian descent or outside of a band should ever, EVER wear in public. For those an other reasons alone, if he wants to call the guy psychotic, well, I can make a case.

  11. Galveston is gross like your fun old divorced aunt who chain smokes and sun bathes and loves Jimmy Buffett and drank margaritas with you when you were in high school. Bolivar is gross like her slightly older, harder partying cousin from the other side of the family who has lived in a trailer on your aunt's property since getting out of jail and maybe went down on you when you were drunk off margaritas but you aren't sure.

  12. The "consenting" is tricky. Think about it. She’s out in the middle of nowhere with some dude she barely knows. She looks around her, what does she see? Nothing but Lake Cumberland. “Oh, there’s nowhere for me to run, what am I gonna do, say no?” If the girl said no, then the answer obviously is no. The thing is that she’s not gonna say no, she’d never say no…because of the implication. The implication that things might go wrong for her if she refuses. Now, not that things are gonna go wrong for her, but she’s thinking that they will.

  13. The Russian government orchestrated a successful international criminal conspiracy with members of the Trump campaign to get Trump elected in the 2016 presidential election. Once Trump discovered the FBI was investigating these crimes he decapitated all the leadership at the FBI and installed his own FBI Director. Trump relentlessly obstructed the investigation by preventing witnesses from publicly testifying and he attempted to fire the special counsel via Don McGahn and others who are also forbidden from testifying publicly. Trump then fired his own attorney general for not successfully covering up crimes and installed his own attorney general who then quickly ended the investigation and misled the public regarding the findings. It was a textbook and well documented cover up. The above statements are not based on opinions. They are based on well documented evidence, easily observable facts, and Trump telling everyone what he was doing while he was doing it. But let’s get back to Flynn being forced to lie to the FBI, because that’s the real story here.

  14. I just like the idea that Trump can accuse Obama of treason and say he should be in prison, and Obama is supposed to just sit there silently. He responds with basically "I think our leaders should act like adults and be responsible" and Team R turns into "Why I've never! Someone shut up that awful negro!".

  23. No offense, but you really need to read past the headlines (and stop taking HCQ if you still are) because literally every sunshine pumping article about COVID and treatments for it that you post has an incredibly low sample size. In the case of this study referenced by your article, the sample size was N=7. Seven datapoints is just a few orders of magnitude short of a statistically significant dataset that you can confidently make predictions and assumptions based on. Stop facilitating the spread of disinformation.

  24. this just might be the worst post ever in the short, illustrious surly history, typical of the delusion and ignorance of the republican party. trump is the wanna be dictator, not the dems. they're the ones fighting him, in case you've been locked in a closet. he's the one that wants to limit the press, shut down any and all critics, fire anyone investigating him or that has anything to do with an investigation of him, lies, steals, cheats, most dishonest president ever, only president ever to refuse to release his tax returns, only president ever to refuse to divest from conflicting financial interests. we no longer have a system of checks and balances. he has centralized power in the executive branch to the point that we now have a dictatorship.

  33. Agreed. Just looking at through lens of if someone who has underlying health conditions chooses to go out into the world, I shouldn't have to shelter in place to protect them from themselves. I am willing (and do) wear a mask when I go out. I wash hands religiously but am starting to open up my life (had dinner out Friday night), am going to a friend's house for Memorial Day etc. People are stupid.

  34. For your livestock update, packer runs continue to rise with cattle nearing 85% of capacity, and hogs about 83%, fresh pork continues to edge lower, but remains about 30% ahead of normal, fresh beef faded as well but looks to be getting into its plateau and roughly 80% ahead of normal for this time of year. At the pace we are recovering packer capacity, the first full week of June should have us back to 100% or so.

  35. It's a long story, but the first thing I did upon arriving in LA was to drive on the beach. We took the Katy Freeway all the way to the sea. I turned into a wrong driveway pulling a UHaul behind my truck. I made another wrong turn onto hike and bike path running along the beach. Then I got stuck in the sand of the beach as I tried to turn around and escape the worsening fiasco. A very inauspicious beginning to my ten years in Los Angeles. One local dude walked up and, looking at my plates, asked, "You from Texas?" "Nah, man. It's a Japanese truck. I just drove in from Japan." He just walked on. Toto, we're not in Texas anymore.

His face is still droopy, he still has trouble walking, we're still awaiting the test results on if/how far the meningitis has spread into his brain, and he still may have to have surgery, but for now he's doing well enough to rest at home. hallelujah. was a tough couple days before now. and just look at how happy he is:

  39. Really? You're in healthcare? You're saying there's no evidence of what happens to coronaviruses in the fall? LOL You can say they overreacted to the very clear evidence of what is most likely to occur in the fall but only the dumbest MF doctor ever would say 'there's really no assessment in threat level that can be made' about what happens with coronaviruses in the fall. Are you an ortho device rep or? You've pretended to be a doctor in a few posts and I'm pretty sure you're full of shit. Here's some guy from Harvard who managed to assess the threat level of a coronavirus in the fall. How did he ever do that?! https://www.ama-assn.org/delivering-care/public-health/harvard-epidemiologist-beware-covid-19-s-second-wave-fall Fall will be difficult Lipsitch said that despite hopes that summer will bring continued relief from the spread of the virus, “fall will be very much like the spring,” and the usual pattern of coronaviruses is likely continue with new transmission peaking in November and cases peaking in December. “We will have a harder time controlling coronavirus in the fall ... and we will all be very tired of social distancing and other tactics. The hard thing will be to keep enough of it to protect our ICUs and keep the number of cases from flaring up,” he said. Controlling the virus may call for a return to the tactics that have worked in spring and a continued focus on maintaining resources such as personal protective equipment and increasing viral testing.

  40. Inspection came back the truck is in great shape. Needs new brakes (25% left), new tuner (that little dash board thing for towing), all systems good, engine and transmission are good, rear diff is clean and the seals are in good shape, shocks, and more. When we asked him if he would be willing to use it to tow a 12000lb load to CO in the mountains he said he would. He said we would need to care for it, and that includes fluids and a cycle of stuff for maintenance - the stuff you can see coming - and have it looked at before each tow to be safe but that this thing could go for a couple hundred more easy. I’m not afraid to spend a few thousand per year to keep it up. It’s $14k not $75k so we are way ahead of the game, and I bet if we keep it up the depreciation is all but over on this one. Can’t see it going below $10k if it’s treated well. I like new, but the truck took 70mph easy and wasn’t that rough of a drive. Interior was ok and gently used for 20 years. We have some ideas on how to make that work for us. Man just recalling the sound of it starting up with ease and quiet, running still with only the notable sound of a Diesel engine letting you know it has the power. Unassuming truck. Something about an old truck man, sexy as hell. Sexy won’t tow to Colorado unless sexy means a helluva truck. Sounds like we found one. Gonna put all our road trip and national park stickers on the windows and roll out two hippy Texan chicks in a big ass, old 7.3L with Simon & Garfunkel “Homeward Bound” blaring with the windows down, all the way to the mountains. Full on cult members.
