  2. so the Big 10 gets to be the conf that turned the college world on its head in august by quitting, got a hanger-on in the Pac 12, and side hussle agreements with the WAC and BigSky Conferences which forced the ACC SEC and Big 12 to completely reschedule their games, cancelling all the ones that pay the bills for the smaller schools, then sit back and not play the first 7-8 weeks of the season and THEN they think all they have to do is start playing in late Oct and now qualify to be in the national champion discussion.... fuck that.

  5. Man. Last night was fun for a guy with a 3 year old who got to get shithammered and drink till 3 am. @NorLa Horns Sorry man. Just complete asshole buffoonery on my part. I’d try to explain what I was thinking but in the light of day I can’t even make an educated guess. Just straight up drunk fuckfacery by me.

  6. As you know, there have been reports regarding BJ Foster quitting the team and leaving yesterday’s game during the game. I spoke with sources. Am told that he did indeed leave the game out of frustration. But, I am told that he has already apologized to coach Ash. He is set to meet with the whole staff and it sounds like he is repentant for the decision and will express that to the coaches. I know in the football world walking away from your team is seen as the unforgivable sin. And, I get that. But I do believe that when you consider the staff changes, the external pressures on the kids through Covid and social unrest and the fact the Foster went from being a star defensive player to a back up, it would be wise to consider this situation more carefully. I do believe that if he does express his remorse (again, I’m told he has and will in a more formal meeting) the coaches will make path for him to redeem himself. And, I personally would agree with that position

  7. It was interesting how they played it immediately. It seemed to work out well. On a side note, I looked around the stands to see who or who was not singing it. Two of the stadium ushers next to us were black and they had their horns up and were singing The Eyes. I saw a few black fans also singing. No real point, more just an observation for folks not there.

  9. Will the usual crowd here dig into the cops’ backgrounds to decide if they deserved it or not because they had a parking ticket or a use of force complaint? Or is that just reserved for when cops murder a black man and we gotta decide if he was arrested 5 years ago so he deserved to be murdered?

  13. No, the other usual crowd will assume the cops have already done something for which they deserved this. What a stupid and worthless fucking post.

  14. I would love if VY invited Bush and Leinart and let them both keep saying they were the better team and that Bush deserved that heisman that year on the strength of 1 fucking game in which his team's defense couldnt stop their opponent from scoring so that Bush got to keep running back KO returns for 25-30 yards at a pop that somehow got counted towards his "total game yardage" being over 500 yards that game, but meanwhile VY throwing for 300 and running for 200 against Oklahoma State earlier that year didnt count for him getting a "combined" 500 + yards that game. fucking ESPN and their bullshit

  18. I remember seeing this clip in a documentary before the election. I never cared for Barbara Walters, I thought she pandered to her interviewees. But I'm glad she took this clown to task. Press is bad, but they write about me, not the bankers. He's an attention whore who disparages those who distribute his message, just to gain more attention. Guy hasn't changed one iota. Not his hair, his suits, his ties, his goals, nor his methods.

  22. Exactly fucking correct. Foster should be a linebacker. Full stop. There is no doubt in my mind that he would have a NFL ceiling in that kind of role. That said, Todd Orlando exacerbated (if not created, don't remember his hs tape vividly) his ineffective missile tackling issues, which in turn created his injury issues. He wasn't receiving ideal position coaching, nor was he in a viable scheme to suit his skill-set. Now his DC is his position coach and Ash is (probably) coaching him much harder than Foster is accustomed to in an effort to correct Todd's "coaching" mistakes. Chris Brown is an animal that Foster didn't see coming and I imagine the frustration of not achieving his self-determined 3 years and out potential must have been simmering. Texas football has not been good to BJ Foster. Some of that is his to own, much of that is not. If he can make amends, he deserves to. Tom got a 2nd chance with new coaches, BJ should receive the same courtesy.

  23. You’re blaming Fauci for not telling people to take Emergen-C? Seriously. You also going to get pissed when you find out he’s drinking water and exercising regularly? Sweet Christ, the world is full of the dumbest fucking people.

  24. You know, a guy like Josh Moore did something very stupid. He learned from it, worked hard on the scout team and came back to earn a starting spot. If Foster decides he wants to play for Texas again, I would present him with this option if I were Herman.

  29. No chance. He’s one of the funniest posters on this entire site. He’s about as myopic as one can get. He declared the Texas brand dead in 2017 and said we’d basically never recruit well again only for us to sign the #3 class in the country the next year. The guy rivals Fat Ketch with the accuracy of his analysis, so you just never take him seriously and get a good laugh in when he posts shit like this.

  34. People from both sides do the same thing. When someone from the “other team” does something bad it means the whole crowd is bad - they’re either all Nazi or looters/ rioters. When someone from “their team” does something, he was a lone wolf, everyone else is cool. Tired of that bullshit, hypocrisy on these threads.

  35. Granted, the big 12 shit itself yesterday in spectacular fashion, but their constant yammering about how easy it is to win in a conference that they won exactly one time in 16 years and only finished above third in their own division three times will never stop being funny.

  41. Yeah, the homer network that brought in Andre Ware to call a game and then ran a short segment of Texas lowlights against him. They fucking suck. And now I want VY to have a talk show on the network and invite his buddies Leinart and Bush to be guests so they can talk about how much better the Fox Sports studio crew is than any of the ones on ESPN.

  42. Great isn't it? Are you aware that the "E" in ESPN is for Entertainment? So having discussions about current events is very much a part of who they are and sports can be progressive in that regard. It's funny because just about everyone has a personal story from their younger years about a coach who was "old school" and "old-fashioned" and sometimes, dangerously out of touch (that's the kind that didn't allow water breaks until someone vomits from heat stroke or something). Or had prejudices that were known but never openly discussed. ESPN made its mark from the NCAA basketball tourney and landing Dick VItale. Given the demographics of basketball, they would have had to BE a rock to not recognize some of the issues that athletes faced then and now. Fox may tell athletes to shut up and play ball, but Jim Brown, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Arthur Ashe, Serena Williams, Tommie Smith and John Carlos let us know they were here and had something to say, each in their own way. I haven't even listed others, like Jackie Robinson or Ali or the Syracuse Eight who paid the price for their courage and activism through punitive actions and abuse. Or talked about the female activists for gender issues or gay rights and so on. One of the stories you can share with your son that is a testimony to courage and doing the right thing even when it is not easy is the tale of Peter Norman. Not Greg Norman, the golfer, but Peter Norman. Ever heard of him? He won the silver medal in the 200 meters at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. He was on the podium when Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their gloved fists in protest. He did not raise his fist, but he wore a badge for the Olympic Project for Human Rights. It made his stance clear. Returning to his home in Australia, he was a pariah. Although he was not stripped of his medal, he was never allowed to represent Australia again despite running the fastest times and qualifying over and over again, was not recognized in 2000 when the Olympics came to Sydney and when he died in 2006, Tommie Smith and John Carlos were pallbearers at his funeral. They had kept in touch for almost 40 years. It wasn't until 2012 that the Australian government apologized for its treatment of a talented hardworking man who stood up and stood with fellow men in support of what was right. If I recall, you mentioned that your son likes track and field. So do I. It's history is littered with amazing achievements, cheating scandals, what-might-have-been opportunities, and in the case of second place Peter Norman: someone who our President would call a loser but was a winner all along.
