  1. Listened to Roachs podcast so you dont have to -Jonathan Brooks is massively underrated per Nick Harris. Thinks he should be a mid 4star and has absolutely elite vision and balance -They both like where Texas sits with Mukuba and Cooks- Mukuba will put out his commit date this weekend -Brooks is recruiting LJ Johnson hard and wants a 2 back system -Bitching about high school football games being cancelled due to covid and not getting sideline passes...WAhhhhhh! -Landon Hullaby and Caleb Burton were both at the game, they think coaches receiving tickets and giving them to players will happen quite a bit -They are all in on Jacoby Jackson because they have to be...then they compared him to Cosmi. Expect more offers -Think Texas and aggy are tied for Kevin Banks but mentioned he may live in a maroon house -Texas leads for Campbell and in top 2 for Hudson. Have work to do with Dewberry -Guilbeau is close to making a decision and "Texas isnt out of it by any means hahaha" really sneak Roach definitely cant figure that one out -Thats it..at least hes not breathing so heavy anymore

  2. Anybody who jumps off a ledge vs eating a bullet or 20 in the fight we need is complicit, as far as I'm concerned. I know you're using a well known saying around here, but it's about to be the time for action, not cowardice. I really hope to hell I'm wrong. I'm lucid and sober right now. I wish I was sad, RBG deserves that, but I'm furious and full of terrible thoughts.

  4. Another woman chiming in as in favor of taking the nasty label and owning it. Trump uses school yard insults like that because he thinks it will bother his target. By taking ownership of that insult and embracing it as a positive thing, we’ve neutralized it. Someone like Trump thinks I’m nasty? Damn fucking right I’m nasty to racists and sexists and fascists and disgusting people like Trump. I’m not going to fall into the sexist trap of women having to “be nice and gentle”. Fuck that. I’m damn proud people like that think I’m nasty. That means they see me as a threat and an obstacle to their goals. Bitches get shit done and nasty women make people uncomfortable. And I’m proud to wear both labels. Being polite is getting us nowhere.

  5. Maybe it's just me, but I love to mask debate. I usually mask debate right before I fall asleep each night, and I mask debate as soon as I wake up each morning. I mask debate on my way to work, and I typically mask debate while I'm at work. I sometimes even mask debate in the shower. I love mask debating.

  6. Cozumel puppy update. We were diving in Xcalak and some asshole abandoned two babies at the dive shop while we were gone. My friends decided to adopt the female. The male was so sad and scared, I would have been lower than Bob Stoops to leave him there alone. Xcla and Tigger:

  8. I hear this all the time, and honestly it's complete and utter bullshit (no disrespect intended your way, cause you're a great poster). I live in a place that 99% of the American populace would classify as Butt Fuckin' Nowhere. If there wasn't football, I'd fall back on the plethora of hobbies that I hardly have time for as it is like mountain biking, road biking, kayaking, hiking, beer making, etc. I can go to world class breweries within 20 miles of my house. Prior to COVID it wasn't hard to find live music, theatre, or interesting lectures at the nearby college. This isn't unique to me, either. I could start pulling examples from all over the Big 12, Big 10, and SEC of places that offer a lot of diversions. Sure, it's not the west coast, but what good is having so many entertainment options that you could never cash in on it? The football things truly is a cultural difference between these parts of the country. In the South and the Midwest, people just care more about football than they do on the coasts, and it's not really due to a lack of options. It's something that people grow up with, and it comes to represent their homes. Their homes that are frequently denigrated by people from the coasts. It does foster an intense pride. You also have the massive influx of people from other parts of the country on the coasts, which means a lot of the people in LA (for example) have no reason to be invested in USC or UCLA. You see less of that in the Midwest and South.

  14. If you're posting in here but not donating, organizing, and getting prepared to get in the street over the next few months, you are a part of the problem. I love this subforum, but there are too many observers on this site who pontificate all day about polls and "suburban voters" yet never get in the trenches and fight. A big part of "getting involved" entails putting pressure on feckless Dems to pack the courts. You are already know Biden is going to have to be dragged to this position.

  16. I don’t know if there’s a good solution, but there’s something broken about our system here. It seems cruel that she felt that she needed to stay on the court through all of this and it seems cruel that her dying wish was a political one. I don’t blame or begrudge her; it makes sense given the way our system works, but it’s somehow broken. I’m probably doing a poor job of articulating my thoughts.

  24. I understand your point, and understand you mean no offense. However, at this point, maybe we're going to have to disagree on that one? Women have been called a lot worse, I know I have countless times for damn sure, for simply politely refusing a man or even a male stranger's request/demand on the street for attention/words/sexual favors. So grabbing the word 'nasty' by the pussy and redefining what it means gives women (or at least me) some solidarity over the label. You (speaking collectively here) attack Yamiche Alcindor, Weijia Jiang, or Mary Louise Kelly for asking a pointed question in an interview and call her nasty, you're calling women who speak up or ask intelligent questions about policy nasty. If calling a woman 'nasty' takes on the persona of 'badass' then women eventually might decide to phase out its use when it ceases to have power over them but instead is owned by them. If one is comparing it to calling certain people deplorable, let's stop and think of the context of the usage of each of those words and whether the context matters. People might not stop and consider the context (if that's what you're saying), but when the powerful use names in a pejorative way, we recognize that it stings. You're saying, don't use the word 'nasty' because no one likes 'nasty' anything, but I'm saying help the world change the conversation. Maybe it's not possible. I don't know. My ideas are not fully fledged on how to neutralize language in that manner. I'll consider your point of view, and maybe some others can weigh in w/o completely derailing the thread as I have done, but hey what have we got to lose?

  30. Other coaches and recruiters are pointing out Hand's failures in developing several highly rated guys at Texas, as well as pointing to the communication struggles the OL had last season and their inability to adjust in-game. That OU game featured Cosmi-Braun-Shackleford-Angilau-Kerstetter. If your OL coach can't make adjustments in-game with that group - a group that had played A LOT of football... Hand doesn't really have film to combat their arguments. His contemporaries/competitors do. Kerstetter is in his 3rd year with him and a 4 year guy, ditto Cosmi. Okafor 3rd with Hand and 5th in the program. Angilau, Ghirmai. Moore. Jones. (even Hookfin/Johnson). Those guys have had a lot of time in this program. The S&C program and diet is top-tier, the new OC is one of the best in the country. If the OL unit at this point isn't exemplary (and it certainly wasn't in 2019) it falls exclusively at Hand's feet. it's not a hard argument for the opposition to make. it is clearly a hard one to combat. He also fell way behind in the class and that is on him. He got Conner and that was/is HUGE. His work with the Brocks and his long dalliance with Foster led to absolutely nothing and in the process he fell behind in the relationship building with the rest of the 2021 class. Those relationships can help smooth things so that you aren't flat-footed in tougher conversations. Covid came and smashed his recruiting angle -- specific to his personality. (BBQ/camaraderie) Right now he needs for Hookfin/Jones to take over and be badass and for Angilau to continue to improve because the recruits have already been conditioned to note that Cosmi is a one-hit wonder and that his own internal fire/drive had more to do with his successes than Hand, and right or wrong it's coming at them from several sources. Perception/reality yada yada. His panic offers and misses to guys that should maybe be PWO candidates at a school like Texas only exacerbate the feel that he's struggling and doesn't have a plan - I haven't heard anything about that being a conversation point but I can say that if I was recruiting against him for anyone else in the 2021 class it would come up, so assume that it is. The struggles in 2021 have already put him behind in the relationship building for 2022 and as noted his style is severely hampered by the Zoom/Covid world. He's going to need the 2020 OL to be really good AND he's still going to need help. For sure. He is the coach most impacted by Covid - in terms of his style of recruiting.

  31. Jordan's admitted kids committed to both schools get bumped and/or get dropped. No reason to keep beating this dead horse. He's been pretty objective for an aggy and he's shown he wants to have a real discussion. I appreciate an aggy perspective that isn't just "whoop this and whoop that".

Make SEC! teams play 9 game conference schedules and disallow FCS matchups. Kaepernick statues at every mile marker on every interstate in former confederate states. Require all southern schools to play New York, New York on the PA after the pledge. Free firearms to NAACP members. Replace God Bless America with WAP during the seventh inning stretch. Tax churches at the top marginal rate to fund planned parenthood and transgender surgeries for anyone who wants them. Ban the DH. Death penalty for driving slowly in the left lane. Trains. Lots and lots of trains.

  40. I don't know, we've seen over and over again that people will seize any opportunity to continue supporting Trump, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Biden will no doubt have a word stumble or a pregnant pause and FOX will run that (and that alone) on an endless loop. Even those who actually paid attention to the whole debate will let that one loop dictate their takeaway. It's not called "cultish" behavior for no good reason. Besides that, I don't think 5%-10% of the country is undecided. There is no viable 3rd candidate and the entire country is pretty much bought in, one way or the other.

  41. This is the trump strategy - he used it in the 80s and 90s while losing a fortune in the casino business. When shit goes bad, distract. If the news isn't good, change the news. It's trump's single greatest strength and is key to how he has remained untouchable. He can't dazzle us with brilliance, so he baffles with bullshit
