  1. In reality, he redshirted as a kid. He’s actually college freshman age right now. One of the issues with the NIL hoopla is that it’s currently very PR driven in terms of forum perspective. There are players on the UT end getting into the 6 figures and not hyping it. There’s a decent chance that Robinson and Card both make $500k or more this season. The big time players are all going to get paid. This Ewers bit is a PR stunt as much as anything and, yeah, if he’s not a starter and bails, it will be hilarious. Everyone’s concerns should remain around building something to last and the guys who aren’t the Heisman candidates or starting QBs. One funny story on NIL I heard from a good friend is in regards to Bryce Young. My friend has been inside Saban’s inner circle for over a decade. I asked “Saban goes to the THSCA convention and talks all of this shit about Young already bringing in close to $1million. Next day, he downplays the whole thing and won’t speak on it at SEC Media Day. What happened?” The response: “Bryce Young’s dad went apeshit on him. Called him and tore him a new asshole and told him never to use his kid as a prop again. He basically said that his son could start at QB anywhere and he’d be happy to prove it with more of that bullshit.” Saban has mostly shut the fuck up since.

  4. It is. Here in the Texas game week thread we are concerned that we won't be able to beat their strength because first they will destroy us with their weakness.

  5. Texas knows fully well that they will have to stay on top of the Tapp recruitment the whole way through. Many on the staff have won kids out of Louisiana for other schools and know the drill. While change is slow and facing headwinds, there is work to get the gears greased and grinding. There’s been work being done from all sides since Sarkisian got here. Texas has a long history of looking the other way in basketball and that is being pointed out rather sharply these days. Regarding NIL, Texas is being reserved out of caution on team morale concerns and first mover disadvantage. I think both of those notions are bureaucratic vaginal shit, but there you go. As long as Plonsky has her thumbs on the scales in compliance, this is going to be an uphill battle. I’ll say this though - there is more activity and inquiry right now from the alumni base at every level than at any time in history. Things like Burnt Ends are highlighting that the masses have gained unprecedented power that cannot and will not be ignored, and the bigger money is fucking tired of watching guys like Quinn Ewers and Jaylen Waddle matriculate elsewhere. In the AD, I just imagine Crystal looking down at a delivered head of Chris Plonsky in a basket and saying the quiet part out loud: “If they can sack Plonsky, they could sack … me.”. The day is coming for some of these fucks and notice is being taken. Still will take awhile.

  6. I misplaced my phone last night, couldn't find it anywhere. I asked my wife to call it so I could track it down. She calls but nothing. We walked around the house, her calling and me listening intently but still nothing. She eventually sees it and I'm really irritated that it didn't ring. I checked and it wasn't on silent so I'm just cursing apple at this point. She looks down at her phone and says, "Umm, it's not your phone's fault. I was dialing your work number this whole time. Sorry.".

  7. I was sitting on about the 30 yard line on the east side of DKR for a Monday night game against Arkansas. ABC TV had moved the game to September 1 because they wanted the UT/Ark game to be the first televised game of the new decade. There was great energy on campus in the run up to this game, and anticipation for the new season. We destroyed piggie, in what started out to be a very promising, but ultimately disastrous season. I just realized that we are now exactly the same amount of time removed from that game, as that game was removed from Germany's invasion of Poland. No wonder the youngsters think I'm old...I am old...furk.

  8. Fucking Vince, man. I thank God every day for the sun rising, good parents, good food and Vince Young. Watched him at Madison all the way through his last game in the NFL. I could die 100 years from now and still believe that he is hands down the greatest college football player I was ever fortunate enough to watch. That dude and that team washed away a lot of CFB pain for so many long-suffering fans.

  14. Look, we know what this is. They're trying to do a pseudo end-run of Roe by not categorically banning all abortions by adding these ridiculous qualifiers into these laws. That's what these cocksuckers do: they try to find loopholes and they fuck them to death. And we know why they do it too. They know full well that outlawing abortion isn't going to make it go away. In fact, that's the exact same argument they give against gun control; that if you pass such restrictive laws, it won't get rid of guns completely. But what they also know is that abortion restrictions overwhelmingly are targeted against people not in a position of financial security. It's easy for some rich blonde cunt in Plano to get an abortion even if it's illegal in Texas. If she can't get it in Texas, she'll just have her husband fly her out to some blue state where it'll get done. Financially insecure people don't have that. So what you'll have is a bunch of lower-middle to lower class women getting pregnant, either trying unsafe techniques/methods for aborting the child or having the child born into a home that never really wanted it and not having any means to support it. "Oh but that's ok because they'll have medicaid, food stamps, welfare, etc." Not if GQP's get their way. They're dead set against those things for reasons that have nothing to do with what they say they do. They say it's for budgetary concerns, but it's hard to save dollars when you're only looking where mere pennies are spent and ignoring where the actual dollars are spent. "Oh but that's ok because they can opt to give up the child for adoption." They can, but that's still a burden on the biological mother especially if she's on her own. And that's in a country where 84% of the states do not have paid maternity leave. And they will still have to take leave unless we're saying it's socially acceptable to expect a women to work until the minute she goes into labor, has the child, and comes back all in the same fucking work day window. Think that's an exaggeration? Nearly 60% of Americans say they live "paycheck to paycheck." Think they can miss a day of work in the 42 states that have no paid maternity leave? Oh and are you ("you" being a fanatic clown of the religious right) going to be the one to adopt it? "Oh but she can just apply for unemployment if she loses her job." Again, not if the GQP has its way. "Oh but that's ok because the child will at least be educated in our guaranteed public education system." Yes, and what a wonderful system it is! It's the same system that teaches Abstinence Only education in the states that have the highest rates of teen pregnancy, repeat teen pregnancy, and abortion! Just think of the multiple generations of unwanted children, one after the other! This is the colossal failure that the teachings and policies of the religious right have always been. If they were really concerned about abortion: -They would support sex education being taught in public schools -They would know that abortion accounts for a small fraction of the services that organizations like Planned Parenthood provide and would therefore actively support their existence. They would also support the idea that those organizations be publicly financed to the point where they can have free contraceptives. -They would support adequate public education -They would support legislating a living wage into existence -They would support universal healthcare ...you know, shit that other first world countries have. When people are willing to concede those points, I'll be glad to hear what they have to say about abortion. But if one is a sick lunatic that envisions a society in which abortion is illegal, medicaid/welfare/food stamps don't exist, public education is a total failure, et al, I have no desire to speak with one about this topic because such a person's thinking is so narrow as to only be summarized as a regurgitation of assumed teachings in primitive religious texts. Those minds are worth less than the dust I just cleared off of my coffee table. EDIT: I know full well nothing I said above is brand new information to people who know their ass from a hole in the ground, but it nonetheless bears repeating to remind everyone of how twisted, perverted and depraved the minds of the so-called "Pro Life" contingency really are.

  15. You really are a stupid mother fucker. He's negging you because you are talking shit about this website, which you post on and talking shit about things that are completely false. 10k EACH puts the TE room at Texas, pick any one of them. in the TOP 5% OF ALL NIL DEALS SIGNED at the guaranteed minimum. That is also going to renew YEARLY, so playing TE at Texas for 4 years is worth 40k. Sustainably. That includes the walk-ons. You are a dumb-fuck know-nothing shit talker, this is way different than a gofundme and there are specific entitlements, merch, and events happening with the players as well as over 30 hours of exclusive content being generated, which if consumed ONLY by the paying people would be over 7,500 hours of listening/reading time.

  20. A whole shitload of these people are being described as "they really loved everybody, even if they didn't agree with them", "there was not a selfish bone in their body", "they would help anybody at the drop of the hat!" FUCK THAT. These motherfuckers were doing everything they could to prolong a fucking pandemic. These motherfuckers took up hospital beds and helped overwhelm our hospitals, leading to a shit-ton of healthcare professionals getting burned out and/or quitting. These motherfuckers are leaving the rest of us with their hospital bills (SOCIALISM YO!) and relying on fucking GoFundMe's to cover the bills for their kids/spouses/funerals, etc. They are the very fucking definition of selfish. If they were helpful and loved everybody, we wouldn't all be chipping in $20 so their their widow can keep the lights on for their little kids.

  22. Yeah, for all the talk about press man CBs, they play a lot of off coverage and rushed four while dropping 7 into zone/match schemes. They don’t have many explosive defenders in the front 7 or create many negative yardage plays. Also not much crazy blitzing. They basically just keep everything in front and make you drive 10+ plays. This should be fairly easy for our offense. We should be running it for 5 yards a pop consistently with Bijan and Card is good at executing the system when things are clean. He seems to struggle the most when teams create pressure. ULL creates almost no pressure. They were 90th in the country in sack rate and 95th in the country in passing down situations. Card should have a fairly clean pocket in which to operate and just has to make the right read and get the ball out on time. Overall, ULL was 111th in Defensive Line yards and 116th on standard down (ie on schedule) line yards. So basically, they give up a high average yards per play, don’t create much pressure, and were bad in almost every single individual defensive statistic, yet their overall defense was 30th in the country per FEI. This is because they make you earn every drive and a lot of CFB teams can’t execute. They were 89th and 76th in the country in drives that fail to gain a first down or result in negative total yards, so they’re not a team that gets you on 3 and outs. They try to make your drive stall 30 yards in. They were also 9th in the country in INTs per game, so their DBs will make you pay if you start forcing things downfield. It’s like Fud said, they play very conservative and make you execute for 10-15 plays on a drive. Their success comes from the offense failing to execute, not them winning a lot of battles or creating negative plays. Our physical superiority should give us some margin for error in executing on O, and we should be able to establish the run and routinely gain 5 yards per run on them. If we can’t, it’s going to be a long game and a long season, because we will face much better run defenses after them.

  27. First of all, you never let on how much you like a girl. “Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV

  28. I’m the most fiscally conservative person on this board, and there’s nothing “conservative” selectively or otherwise about the 2001, 2003, or 2017 tax cuts, all of which I benefitted from, and all it cost the country was accelerating structural deficits as far as the eye can see. so, please- a Republican I can respect. A conservative I can respect. Even honest self-interest I can respect. But insane and unsustainable policy choices that strictly exist to transfer wealth from the impoverished majority of the future to the enriched minority of today is nothing if not radical and should be described as such.
