Lighten up, it's the off-season. Bitching about players is what we're supposed to do. Just like anointing the new recruits better than the previous recruits.

I guess. Obviously there’s a reason he’s playing.  The coaches aren’t willing to send their careers down the shitter to prove a “white boy” can play or prove a point to other players, etc.   Not sure why anyone would give Taaffe any grief for his play.  If there was any better option those guys would play and Taaffe would never see the field.  These coaches see the players everyday and play the best players at every position.  Unfortunately stupid fans want perfection I guess.  Fans hear about how talented some other players are and don’t realize talent doesn’t always translate to production on the field.  If you want to get upset with someone gets pissy with those “talented” players who can’t get their shit together and show the coaches they deserve more playing time.  It’s not Taaffe’s fault that he’s the best option.  He’s exactly the type of player that has gone to some other schools , in the past, and has terrorized Texas. But sure let’s complain about Taaffe.  He’s a damn good player and Texas is lucky he’s on the team.  Period.  Someone should tell Arch how much Taaffe sucks.

This is the 12th post on this page of this thread.

Post 1) Confuses an English philosopher with a football recruit with a completely different surname.

Post 2) Covers recruiting forecast changes for previously referenced recruit.

Post 3) A meditation on Austin then vs. now as seen through the lens of the author of the Anarchist Cookbook.

Post 4) Exploring a new ranking system, as arbitrary as any other.

Post 5) Someone analyzes what sooners think of Demarco Murray on Twitter in regard to recruiting.

Post 6) Brief analysis of recently discussed recruit's film and upside.

Post 7) Pedantic clarification of position target for said recruit.

Post 8 ) Nervous posting of a witty-ish gif in response to Anarchist Cookbook post.

Post 9) Someone wants to get high on kitchen cleaning products.

Post 10) Reference to some Austin politician's forehead that idiots on Surly have been obsessing over for years.

Post 11) Further tie-out between the Austin politician and the most important English philosopher of the 19th century.

Well done.  What are the chances of getting a summary of each page going forward?  It would probably double my productivity at work.  Less time on Surly.

I’m sure that the initial limited releases were good but I’ve been disappointed in my recent purchase of the JD barrel proof rye. Think I’ll stick to the store pick single barrels where I’ve had better luck. Also the JD BiB rye may be the best bang for the buck out there.

No complaints here.  It is surprisingly smooth for 129.1 proof.

It's true. He might be the only coach in FBS history be both the OC and DC at the same school.

Greg Davis did a lot for opposing defenses so he should count as well.

  5. So Bama paid players under the table and had the best coach.  Two huge advantages which are now gone.  I understand why they don’t like it but well…too fucking bad.  I’ll never understand how some people think it’s unfair to have an open market(bad) vs paying players under the table(good).  Insanity.

Yeah it’s been studied that a championship or championships in those 2 sports increases applications in the short-term. But when you win 6 in 12 years, it’s like a rolling window that stays open

My son was a Senior last year and national merit.  We did a quick tour of colleges throughout the Southeast and the only reason we stopped by Bama was because of all the football success. Damn sure wasn’t the academics.
