  1. Lucky bastard doesn't have "service for 16" in the drawer.
  2. James Garner once got in a road-rage dispute, and he fared about as well as Rockford.

    Getting old sucks

This is my 2nd round. First time was in 2019. I have a terrific hand doc. He did the Xiaflex injection. So, he did the fairly painful injection in several locations in the hand. The hand turned black, formed big nasty blisters, etc. It was a mess. A few days later, you go in, he numbs the hand, and then manually "snaps" the fingers back in place. After that, it's several rounds of occupational therapy. When he did it, he told me "see you in a few years". It came back, but not nearly as severe. This time, it was just the pinky, but it was bent pretty severely. He offered to do surgery, but said it was strictly my choice, so I opted for the injection again. This time, when he did the snap, he also did a "needle cut" on one particularly nasty band of fascia. I haven't started therapy yet, but my hand is drastically improved. This round was much better than the first. One of the big problems with the first was that my skin had tightened in the claw shape, so when the fingers were straightened, it tore the flesh and I had nasty open wounds. Also, this time he waited 5 days between injection and manipulation. He said that FDA guidelines still say 2-3 days, but he went to a conference in Toronto, and other docs were reporting better outcomes with a longer wait, so he's doing 5 now. The doc told me that this condition is usually found in men (by a large percentage) in their late 40's and older, and almost always of Northern European extraction.
  4. PHOENIX — This winter, Kari Lake was facing a daunting reality: The voters who rejected her in her 2022 run for governor could now jeopardize her entire political future. If Lake — “Trump in heels,” as she has referred to herself — didn’t begin to quickly change the minds of those she had shunned or ridiculed, she could lose, again, in her 2024 Senate bid. “I have never thought of myself as divisive. But it’s not enough for ME to believe that. I need to prove it,” Lake wrote in a social media post in December, acknowledging the need to step away from her tendencies to make incendiary comments and broaden her appeal. Do you have a news tip? Let us know But with just over seven months until the election, several key Arizona Republicans tell NBC News that they believe Lake’s campaign is facing an increasingly uphill battle. “What I hear is, everybody has just resigned themselves that we’re going to be stuck with a Ruben Gallego — that’s what I hear from all the major players, the big-money people,” Shiree Verdone, a longtime GOP fundraiser in Arizona, said, referring to Lake’s Democratic Senate opponent. “I haven’t heard anyone say, ‘Kari Lake is going to win.’” Lake continues to deny that Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, tweeting this month about President Joe Biden: “81 million votes, my a--.” She continues to call her 2022 election loss “a sham,” promotes right-wing provocateurs like Laura Loomer, and hosts fundraising events with controversial political figures like Roger Stone at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. Since launching her Senate bid, Lake has set up meetings to mend relationships with other Republicans she cast aside during her run for governor, like Kathy Petsas, a former local party chair in Lake’s home legislative district. Lake’s campaign tweeted at her in 2022: “Kathy, You’re exactly the type of demographic that we feel no need to appeal to.” “I don’t know one person that she’s gotten on her side of the people who she offended,” Petsas said, suggesting Lake’s overtures have fallen flat. “There’s nobody from my circle that she’s gained, and she’s even alienated some previous supporters, too, who I know.”
  5. That Ueli Kunkel wrote some cool tunes for a fucking nihilist.
  6. This old white guy (and huge Chris Rock fan) really loved "Good Hair". I had no idea how much went into black women's hair.
  7. To clear the record: “Magnum” wasn’t part of Rockford. The Selleck character was “Lance White”
  8. I'm running out right now, but food for thought: it's easy to take the train from SD to both Angel Stadium and Dodger Stadium. The Anaheim stop is in the shadow of the stadium, and the dodgers run free bus service from Union Station to Chavez Ravine. I'll have more for you later.
  9. He's so old that he can't even remember who was Governor of "commiefornia" when "Rockford" came out. (hint)
  10. you're the asshole that went all political on a fucking TV thread. Go fuck yourself.
  11. wait 'till you see the episode about the "tort reform" governor in the wheelchair with millions in the bank from his lawsuit. That one's a hoot!
  12. 853 OKG motherfuckers. Angel Martin is one of the best TV characters ever.
  13. I wear a size 14. My shoes didn't fit in the little cubbies, and I looked like a fucking asshole wearing those stupid tiny slippers to the loo.
  14. oh, I think it's clear that Mick is the greatest frontman ever. Who's better?
  15. Apache went down in WA yesterday. Both crew in the hospital, but at least they survived.
  16. the conductor does 95% of his work during rehearsals. And individual musicians cannot hear anything more than the asshole next to him. The conductor holds it all together. In a small combo, the "rhythm section" (bass and drummer) are the conductors.
  17. unfortunately, weather looks shitty this weekend.
  18. Agree on the guidebook. We had an actual Tokyo resident showing us the ropes, and it really helped.
  19. from last year: https://nypost.com/2023/01/23/donald-trump-claims-victory-in-club-tournament-despite-missing-first-round/ Donald Trump claimed credit for a club championship despite reportedly not competing in the tournament in the same time parameters as everyone else. Trump, the 45th president of the United States, claimed victory in the Senior Club championship at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach over the weekend. “A great honor to have won the Senior Club championship at Trump International Golf Club, one of the best courses in the Country, in Palm Beach, Florida,” the former president wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “Competed against many fine golfers, and was hitting the ball long and straight. The reason that I announce this on fabulous TRUTH is that, in a very real way, it serves as a physical exam, only MUCH tougher. You need strength and stamina to WIN, & I have strength & stamina – most others don’t. You also need strength & stamina to GOVERN!” Nevertheless, the Daily Mail reports that Trump did not compete in the tournament at the same time as everyone else. While the tournament was slated for Saturday and Sunday, Trump was attending the North Carolina funeral for the vlogger Diamond. However, according to the report, “competitors arriving for day two of the contest on Sunday morning were surprised (although not exactly shocked) to see his name at the top of the leaderboard with a five-point lead over the overnight leader.” The outlet explained that Trump shot a stellar round on Thursday. Trump counted this round, which was a score of 40 using the Stableford method, which gives one point for a bogey, two for par and three for a birdie. This score was five points better than the top mark from Saturday’s round. A Trump spokesperson did not immediately respond to Daily Mail’s request for comment. Trump has long faced allegations of bending the rules on the golf course. “To say ‘Donald Trump cheats’ is like saying ‘Michael Phelps swims,’” longtime sportswriter Rick Reilly wrote in the book “Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump”, which came out in 2019. “He cheats at the highest level. He cheats when people are watching and he cheats when they aren’t. He cheats whether you like it or not. He cheats because that’s how he plays golf … if you’re playing golf with him, he’s going to cheat.”
