  2. A bunch of cool people got together at the Troubadour and paid tribute to a song thief. But we got this gem out of it. I read about the show but didn't think it would be recorded. Still, someone got a decent video of it. Isbell and Sadler also did a cover of Kodachrome.

    RIP Melanie

Hell. She played at Woodstock. Early on, people were lumping her into the Joni Mitchell track. Had a couple of borderline hits that got critics talking....then Brand New Key came out and all that critical praise went away. Bob Lefsetz had a long article about her recently. I kind of liked this song. She wrote this one after Woodstock. The person before her at passed out candles to the crowd.

    Power Pop

Have you heard Ted's album with Aimee Mann?
  6. This is a great analysis of Wichita Lineman. Strong Songs is a great podcast if you enjoy song structure, writing and arrangements. Dude is super talented and spends a lot of time dissecting songs. https://strongsongspodcast.com/search/wichita lineman
  7. In my house, the vegetable drawer is just a staging station for the compost piles. I probably have the most expensive compost in the county.
  8. See did get an implant but couldn't hear the beeping. And yes, that is exactly what she was doing. Me under the detector and she is under one of the hallway lights. Very helpful.
  9. I start hearing a random beep......need to find the suspect detector bitching about a low battery. Wife is following me around as I try to locate the beeping. Constantly asking, "which one is it?" Kitchen smoke? Nope hallway smoke? Nope Upstairs smoke 1? Nope Upstairs smoke 2? Nope Now I'm standing under the carbon monoxide detector waiting for that motherfucker to beep. Her: Maybe it's one of the light bulbs!
  10. Thanks for trying to get this back on topic @uoftorange. And strong effort by wife. VERY strong. For the rest of you motherfuckers. FOCUS. We don't need advise from Dr. Phil or Dr. Ruth....we just need to wallow in each others pain. Now, back on track me homies.
  11. Fuck you Hulla! I found a better version: What a fucking band.
  12. I've been trying to post this since the original post.
  13. Dammit. Forgot this. https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/country-cajun-legend-jo-el-sonnier-dies-after-performance/
  14. From the article Jo-El Sonnier was an American original, a country legend, a Cajun hero, and one of the last real deal performers in music. https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/country-cajun-legend-jo-el-sonnier-dies-after-performance/ Let's enjoy, shall we.
  15. McMurtry. "Cashing in on a 30 year crush. You can't be young and do that"
  16. Thanks. I used to listen to Joe's podcast but lost it in a switch to a different platform.
  17. When the doors are open, it cools the kitchen a little too slowly, but it does a damn good job of keeping out of date and spoiled lettuce at an adequately chilled temperature.
  18. Open drawer talk not going away.... Wife was putting away the groceries while was doing something else in the kitchen. Her: "I'm too hot in this sweater. I need to go change clothes. " ... And off she goes. Notice the placement of the asparagus......I would assume that is temporary.... But would likely be wrong. Upon turning around....
  19. I could have offloaded this on you.
  20. OH>>>> from the above pictures. Storage bins full of kids artwork. Grouped by grades.........You are looking at a stack belonging to the oldest daughter. Now 35 years old.
  21. I feel ya @SHOOTER12 . Pictured here are 2, 7 ft tall side light windows from some hurricane damaged church in Florida. She found them in some 'antique' shop in Port. St. Jo, FL while we were on vacation. OOOHHHHHH the plans she had for these. I had to wrap them in bubble wrap and cram them down into kayaks to get them home. I can't believe I didn't break any of the glass. That was 10 years ago. Here they still sit....leaning against a basement wall, along with a bunch of art/maps that have never been frame, and about 13 other pieces of furniture that we don't have room for. And then bitches because of all the junk in the basement. Fuck. And fucking open drawers. I will NEVER understand that.
  22. Is that Bobcat Golthwaite's daughter?
