  1. I don't know. I don't buy pitchers anywhere. We were drinking bottles. And they were ice cold.
  2. Sharkey's bar in Port Aransas Memorial Day weekend 2004. Now wife and I had just started talking and were on a group trip with mutual friends. My stomach was upset because we had eaten fried stuff for dinner and back then I was a health nut so stomach not used to it. I did not want to go out that night because I felt like shit. I went because wife was (and is) hot and that's undefeated. About an hour into it, my stomach is on fire and guts are churning. I go into the nasty bathroom, which is about 90+ degrees due to no A/C and smelly like you would assume a non-airconditioned bar bathroom would be on a weekend when the place is packed. I sit down and take a shit like the scene from Dumb and Dumber. The stalls have no doors and there are people just walking by while I am shitting out my intestines. Did feel better and started drinking again once that was over.
  3. About to book ten days during Thanksgiving. Ready to go back.
  4. I went to Sam's Boat Sunday with friends and our kids to sit on the deck and eat crawfish. Have not been there in decades. Their crawfish was amazing. And price was reasonable. I was skeptical when my buddy suggested it. But I highly recommend. I live walking distance from Bayou City and Rajun Cajun, and Sam's Boat was better and cheaper.
  5. Already binged it with both of my kids, 10 and 12. Actual history is great. Good to know the history of slavery, its evils, and how prevalent it is in world history. Actual history is great. Not garbage like the 1619 Project that tries to argue the Revolutionary War was largely a slaveholder's rebellion.
  6. What a heel. Zero business holding any office.
  7. I got rid of mine. I am now the guy who gets invited and pays for everything -- fuel, booze, food, cleanup at stack storage -- and still come out way, way ahead. Often times I split with another guest. But the boat owner ain't paying for shit when I am on. I do love a boat. Just no time now. I hunt a lot and work a lot. Once I retire in a few years and am strictly a referral attorney, I will get back into boating. Center console bay boats are about my speed. I am sending both kids to sailing camp this summer. Want them to learn it. I know enough to be dangerous but eventually want to get proficient. Nothing like sailing and not hearing an engine.
  8. Sandlot, Little Giants, and Home Alone.
  9. Not a great movie but one I watch when it's on -- Uncommon Valor. Hackman is pretty excellent in it.
  10. I like Central Market's sandwiches.

Giacamos on Westheimer near Lamar High School is really good.
  12. And Aspen, Crested Butte, Salida, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Creede, Ouray, Lake City, etc.
  13. Clint Black's first major album was a great pure country album. Think it was 1990 or so. Nothing's News, Walking Away, Nobody's Home, A Better Man, Killin' Time.
  14. Gorgeous scenery. Have your FIL teach you as much as you can soak up in the next 5-10 years.
  15. Hotel St. George's is open. Get a reservation and eat there. Paisano is open. One thing we did is went to the local hipster grocery store -- The Get Go -- and put together a charcuterie plate. Grab some wine and we ate lunch in the Paisano courtyard. They did not care as they were not open for lunch. The drug store in Fort Davis has good food also. Make sure one day coming back from state park you drive the river road to Presidio and then up north to Marfa. It is a gorgeous drive.
  16. Grant P uses a mix of post oak and mesquite
  17. Anyone bought a suppressor in the last 3 months? Wondering if the new electronic form submission makes approval quicker. Still waiting to get one I bought last spring.
  18. That time of year even on a warm day it should be comfortable with the breeze.
