How is anyone watching this without subtitles? I tried it for a little bit and missed probably 25% of what they were saying.
Yea tried it first 2 episodes but then I was rewinding and turning them on for certain parts anyway because I missed some things. They stay on more

Bakersfield should be a city for the homeless. No money should be needed for that hell hole, I can’t believe people are moving to Kaufman county but some friends just bought for 230k next to the prison. Man we used to sell a shit ton of drugs in that field. Crazy times

Ye man that’s Santa Monica, cross the 710 and it drops drastically. I wouldn’t go past the 605 though that’s back to Collin county area with mountains. My gf sister lives in el segundo it’s amazing as hell but I’ll visit like I visit my ppl in highland park, @Rex Kramer save me a room

Not all. Lake Highlands isn’t expensive. I am sure there are comparable areas in Houston like Briargrove, or even Tanglewood or West U. I’m less familiar with Austin neighborhoods as I left in ‘96 and haven’t returned.
None of those are comparable to lake highlands? I think you live in the Johnny sack world but call it lake highlands

It took me a long while to adjust to Cali-Mex. It’s not bad, but misses by a mile if you’re looking to quickly clog your arteries.
@closetohumping There’s a place in Costa Mesa that’s supposed to be pretty good. I haven’t tried it yet, but will probably bring my son to stand in line with me after we get back from spring break.

Yea it fucking sucks and I’m tired of mfers telling me about authentic Mexican shit. Bitch I’ve lived in Monterrey and Guadalajara suck my nuts on authentic, good food is good shit good is shit. Sorry kind of airport bar tipsy and my Uber driver to LAX this morning wouldn’t shut up about the Mexican food here vs Texas.
Also on COL and other shit has some wild claims here, not surly top 50% but 130k in little elm was boring, meh and shitty compared to 160k in LA (okay Monterrey Park) but close. Yea I’m not on the coast but close to it. Don’t listen to the morons and try it out if you can I regret nothing- 2

I’m guessing plenty of people feel California’s state leadership is horrible also. Opinions are going to vary. I think California is wonderful if you’re a 9 figure type. And probably one of the best states for deadbeats who don’t want to work much. For those in between, it would be tough.
I’m closer to deadbeat than 9 figures and I love it here.

Apropos of nothing, but I'm curious: when someone transfers within a company from the Bay area to (say) Austin, do they have to take a pay cut?
No that’s not a thing or if it is I hope those people quit

I think I posted this in another thread, but it seems like a huge trend with my demographic (age, kids' age, jobs/education, race) is that people who bought into Frisco when it was considered the BFE and South Oklahoma that no cool or hip person would move to, built/bought a house for 300-500k like 20 years ago. Well, the last 24 months through present, everyone is selling for $1-2mm then going even further to north Prosper or Celina and buying a good amount of land (or at least acreaged lots) and custom building the dream home with best in breed trim and fixings, and still pocketing a huge amount of cash liquid.
This worked really well during Covid-19 and when WFH was 100%. What sucks is if you have to get downtown as, with traffic, it's like a 90 minute drive in rush hour. Seriously. Even just getting back to Frisco/Legacy West is like 30 minutes. Might as well report in to an Oklahoma City office at this point.
Yep when I lived in little elm getting to the office downtown was 90 minutes on a normal sometimes a hell of a lot longer. Getting to Kroger on 380 a couple miles down the road to took 30-45 and a complete beating. Most of the people moving to those areas have no idea how much that sucks. LA traffic sucks but I can hit a few stores in 15 minutes or a Mercado on weekend easily.

My fear of flying is unrivaled. I thought I was over it and booked a plane ticket to San Antonio when Tennessee was playing Texas AM and pussed out and drove anyways. My last flight to Brazil I had 9 beers at the airport and was still in shambles the entire time. This thread has not helped me at all!
I have been flying around 15 times a month since October and I only ever read this damn thread at the airport.

Baltimore Bridge Disaster

Glad I’m not the only pussy who doesn’t like driving over big ass bridges. Not sure what it is now but damn I don’t like them and it’s kind of a new thing for me only notified I puckered up a few years ago in St. Pete. Missed a damn exit in Long Beach last weekend and had to go over that one and I was not liking it at all.
