  1. After all this is done I wonder if, for people buying/selling a house, tjis house is tied to grid "x" which means in a large power outage you will ve the last one power off and first onw powered on. That might sell better than any landscaping, pool, etc.
  2. Curious how Westlake RB Minors only got offered by Yale, Air Force and Lamar. 8 yards a carry and really like the way he runs but no D 1 offers?
  3. I haven't checked in here in a while it feels like. Work is slammed at the golf course. Rounds, lessons all through the roof. Thanks covid I guess. But between the Rona and now the election, post election, DC riot I found myself thinking I'm glad Sammie isn't here for this. That upset me. Is it wrong, am I wrong. I know depression and suicides are way up during this. I know mine is up, I'm tired of living like this. But it angers me that I'm somehow glad she's not here through this. It's not like I don't think of her daily and miss her but damn if this ain't a depressing time to be alive. But I go on, still here.
  4. Dairy Bar in Brenham and Tailgate Grill on 2920 between Waller and Tomball.
  5. I'm hanging in i suppose. The 30th of this month will mark 4 year anniversary of Sammie's suicide. Trying to work all i can keep me busy.
  6. I've wanted to post but haven't knowing its not going to be popular. My twin step kids graduated high school on the 6th, of course Sammie would have been, should have been graduating then too. As much as I love my step kids that night was a dick punch. Work, from a business perspective, has been through the roof good. We broke every company record during the month of May we've had in 33 years at the golf course. Just under 10k rounds, and just under a half million in revenue. June was off to the same start. Never in that time has any of us who work there, worn a mask, or gloves, we handle cash daily and none of us have been sick, 0 missed days since the Rona. No sports nothing worthwhile on tv, now this cunt judge orders masks. My anxiety makes it a difficult task at best, news is all Corona, protest, rinse and repeat. If I ever hear new normal or unprecedented times, it makes me want to flat throw things. If this is indeed what life will be going forward I'm not real sure I even want to do it anymore. Wife loves me, twins surprised me with a brand new gas grill for father's day but theyre on some keto diet and nothing they eat even sounds good. I'm flat out down. Feel like I've fought thru hell for 4 years since Sammie's suicide, and what do i get going forward, a fucking mask and everything is doom and gloom.
  7. Yes, obviously playing the red tees. Full disclosure he won the DuPont World Amateur in Myrtle Beach in 1988. And multiple club championships at Walden on Lake Conroe and The Hills at Lakeway. I hope I can swing a club at 92.
  8. Right now I'm only happy when I'm at work. I work at a golf course and amongst the staff it might as well be a high school boys locker room. Very unpolitically correct humor the whole day. We're the only ones inside aside from someone coming in to use the bathroom. Business is up through the roof. Wednesday thru Friday alone this week was over 1000 rounds. Home is different altogether. Wife is a special ed director for a school district she's on video conferencing all day. Her kids, twins 1 boy/1 girl are both working since school is out but are both super bummed out about no prom and no grad ceremony. Just watching TV is a beating, every commercial is coronavirus related, wash your hands, and alone together. Like we're supposed to figuratively hold hands and sing kumbaya. I dread being home. Did have Friday off and got in a round with my soon to be 92 year old stepfather. Old man still has game and shot 79 while myself and another pro played together. Went by mom's house after and helped stepdad take down part of a tree in the backyard. If I actually stayed home every day I feel pretty certain I'd go crazy, my anxiety and depression would flare up and get more dangerous than the virus for me.
  9. Had myself, one of our other assistant pros and my soon to be 92 year old stepfather out at Walden Lake Conroe. We played tips, my stepdad played the red, all 3 rounds in the 70s. The 851st time my stepfather has shot his age or below. I'd kill to have his game at his age.
  10. I know, i hear it from our members and customers every day. I think the powers that be want us closed though. Which obviously if they did it would affect my paycheck but not my ability to practice and play since I have keys to the property. I'd just play every day then.
  11. Courses in Houston are mostly still open. Driving ranges are all closed
  12. I've been on pretty good roll lately after passing my PGA playing ability test 2 weeks ago at Raven Nest in Huntsville. Went out this afternoon with our other assistant pro after we checked in 300+ rounds today and got in 14 holes before I said I had enough and was tired, threw 4 birdies, really swinging my driver well at the moment. Which of course now means because I said I am I'll likely develop a snap hook for the next 2 weeks LOL
  13. Most everything in Houston has reopened except for Gus Wortham and Memorial park. I'm assistant pro at Cypresswood and we're not closed and in fact never did. Sheriff office came by asked what we were doing. Inverted cups so ball doesnt go to the bottom, individual carts that are washed and sanitized before and after each round. No water coolers on course, dont touch rakes. Supervisor said you guys are good to go and has been business as usual. Did over 200 rounds today.
  14. My wife is the special ed director in a district and she's been non stop on zoom i guess. Its non stop video conferencing all day from our kitchen table.
  15. Harris county judge has another presser at 815 tomorrow morning ordering stay at home county wide.
