  1. Yep. Takes much of the excitement out this weekend.
  2. For real. Not a great year for Wout so far.
  3. Soon, indeed. Also a little cobble appetizer today.
  4. What spectacular views on the descent of the Col de Pradell in Catalunya today! Also many sightings of GC KUSS clothing and signage. Unfortunately, the gestation period of his form must not mature until grand tour season. Poor Tadej must be bored at this point.
  5. Ridiculous is an apt description. Can’t really call it a rivalry with Van Aert right now. MVdP is in a different place this year.
  6. Man, if Schultz doesn’t make that head check at 100m to go to see Pogacar in full acceleration, he gets caught. Never assume assume you’ve got that guy beat. Great finish!
  7. You also have to wonder if the last minute replacement of McNulty for Del Toro messed with UAE’s prep or race day results. Maybe McNulty could have driven harder on Cipressa.
  8. Tadej said they didn’t go hard enough on the Cipressa and left too many strong riders leading up to the Poggio. That was a diverse group in the last few km. Mohoric’s move looked good for a moment, but didn’t hold. Pidcock’s blow up was something to see. Seemed like he had flown the coop with a few hundred meters to go, then got swept up and dropped by the winning group. Finished outside the top 10. Lol. Nice sprint for Jasper to pip Mathews with the throw at the line.
  9. Max picked up a handful of early season races. The Giro will be the last race available for 2024.
  10. Pretty tame for Reddit. 😂
  11. That’s the big question for sure. With MSR, it could be sprinters day or a breakaway depending on the day. It’s always interesting to see the start list and how each team is approaching it. Plenty of great sprinters and their lead outs, breakaway and one-day race specialists, agitators & tv attackers, and then complete lunatic on two wheels competitors like Pogacar. How can you bet against that guy? So many riders capable of winning this race that I didn’t name. Hell, even before todays performance, Bettiol’s name showed me that EF was serious about MSR when I looked at the start list to see who they were sending.
  12. Milan San Remon is just a few days away, and despite once again not starting in Milan proper, it looks to be a fun one. The starting field has 7 winners from the last 10 years, as well as numerous runners up and podium finishers. The past winners starting on Saturday are VdP, Pogacar, Alaphilippe, Demare, Morohic, Kwiatkowski, and Kristoff. I think most people are expecting a Pog\VdP duel. Who ya got?
  13. Based on the title, I was hoping for a Trey Parker or Mike Judge brand of satirical skewering of the Magical Negro trope featuring all of the best known characters in that genre.
  14. Thanks, AI art. I clocked that the location is Nice, but the random insert of the Eiffel Tower makes sure you get the point.
  15. And Remco still celebrated at the finish line like he fought for the win. Lol. Great win for Jorgenson.
  16. Welp, no wheel-sucking stage victory for Vlasov today.
  17. And from what we’ve seen today, it looks doubtful that Remco can drop Jorgensen for any significant time gap.
  18. With 20k to go, this is looking like a great call! McNutty blew up, and who figured Vlasov would be a bigger factor for Bora than Roglic? Interesting to see how this finishes. It’s known that Remco has no love for TVL, so let’s see how hard he tries to attack Jorgensen for the win.
  19. I wonder if I would have turned into one of those narrow minded dipshits if I didn’t grow up playing soccer and racing BMX (and later MTB) along with the other American team sports. I’ve lost count of the number of mind numbing conversations I’ve had about following cycling racing, with much of the opposition to it having to do with the apparel. “You actually want to watch a bunch of Euros with shaved legs in skin tight “spandex” ride their stupid bicycles? I didn’t realize you were gay.” Whatever. I have of sports to keep me entertained pretty much year round. It would be entertaining to see a rowdy bar full of fat, belligerent redneck cycling fans watching races and taking their shit about team and rider rivalries like they do with NASCAR and college football.
  20. That was great racing. Matteo positioned himself well despite just not having a kick today. McNutty hanging on by a thread. Meanwhile in Tirreno, Jonas continued to do Jonas things and casually destroyed Ayusa and Hindley to fly away for another solo to the finish. And those guys are great climbers and bike racers. He just decided to go.
  21. Just finished watching the Stage 5 replay. That little dude is just ridiculous.
  22. When I was a little kid, my parents granted me access to their record collection and the phonograph on the condition that I didn’t scratch any of the records or fuck up the needle. Sitting on the floor listening to records with big ass 70’s headphones on, for literally hours at a time, is where my obsession with music was truly born. I discovered this album in 1973, and has remained in regular rotation to this day. The production and songs are just immaculate. Both timeless and a time machine simultaneously. As others have already submitted, Pink Floyd has to be considered near the top of the mountain in concept albums. To create three concept albums with the quality and lasting relevance of Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall, is an incredible artistic achievement.
  23. Kinda like the crazy start of the Vuelta last year. Crazy how much weather and start time can affect TTs.
