  1. The Miami RedHawks upset the Bearcats 31-24 in overtime last week, breaking a 16-game losing streak in the rivalry and reclaiming the Victory Bell. Maybe they were looking ahead or maybe this Cincinnati team isn’t all that good.
  2. That writer is an idiot. Cincinnati chili is not chili. It’s not Cincinnati’s take on chili. It’s not ‘how they make chili in Cincinnati.’ It’s its own thing. If you go into any normal restaurant in Cincinnati, not one like Skyline or Gold Star that serves Cincinnati chili exclusively, and order chili, you’ll get traditional chili. If the restaurant also has Cincinnati chili on the menu, you’ll need to specify Cincinnati chili or you’ll get chili. What you think of as chili is not a foreign concept to anyone in Cincinnati (or Ohio or the Midwest). You’ll never serve a bowl of chili to someone from Cincinnati and hear them gasp, “Where are the noodles?!” JFC, it’s not hard. But ignorance about it is like a point of pride in some places.
  3. ‘Bout damn time. NCAA committee recommends legislation to remove cannabis from banned substances list in all three divisions https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ncaa-committee-recommends-legislation-to-remove-cannabis-from-banned-substances-list-in-all-three-divisions/ The NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports recommended legislation that would remove cannabis from the NCAA's list of banned drug classes at all three divisions, the governing body announced Friday. The recommendation calls for a "robust educational strategy" for college athletes when it comes to cannabis. The committee concluded that removing cannabis from the list of banned substances would accomplish the following: Acknowledges the ineffectiveness of existing policy (banning, testing and penalizing). Affirms the role of the NCAA drug-testing program to address only performance-enhancing substances. Emphasizes the importance of moving toward a harm-reduction strategy that prioritizes education and support at the school level over penalties. "Cannabis is not a performance-enhancing drug and that a harm-reduction approach to cannabis is best implemented at the school level," The NCAA stated in a release following midweek meetings in Indianapolis. The committee's release also cites changing "cultural and legal landscapes" surrounding the use cannabis. As for what's next, the timetable for adoption of this new legislation now rests in the hands of all three NCAA divisional governing structures. "When making a decision on an important topic like this, we agree that the membership should have an opportunity to vote on the final outcome," committee chair James Houle, lead sport psychologist at Ohio State, said in a statement. "We are recommending a big shift in the paradigm when it comes to cannabinoids. We want to modernize the strategy with the most up-to-date research to give schools the best opportunity to support the health of student-athletes."
  4. Is this big? This seems big. Common sense policy coming from the NCAA. 5. Not everyone can be as awesome as the totally awesome Big 12, man.
  6. Took him forever to see he had room to run and was still able to run it in. That’s a lot of open grass.
  7. From the right? Hell, there would be all sorts of dissent on the left about a ticket with two white men.
  8. Death penalty for eco-terrorists. Offer a huge reward for information leading to their capture and conviction. Someone will flip.
  9. Before they can answer, they have to actually show up for the question. Imagine a cabinet member from Trump’s term just doing that.
  10. In the case of the Murdochs, by “better” I assume you mean worse. Again there’s the example of George W. Bush.
  11. Don’t forget George W. Bush.
  12. You know, it’s not actually possible to pull oneself up by one’s own bootstraps.
  13. Still running from his own subpoena. It’s a fucking joke. No one should respond to any subpoena coming from his committee. They’re illegitimate.
  14. I’m guessing she should’ve found a better ghost writer.
  15. That’s a 4-way. Should be fairly self-explanatory.
  16. The problem with that interpretation is that there are three scripted comedic parts of the show: the monologue at the beginning, New Rules at the end, and one other bit in the middle, and when Bill announced that the show was returning, he said those portions of the show would be omitted. So it would just be the interview and the panel discussion. Any comedy in those segments is improvised. So Bill wasn’t trying to write the monologue or the other bits himself. He has been a working stand-up comedian for decades so it’s not like he’s new to writing his own material. But why would he want to take on the task of writing all that new material every week? He’s got more enjoyable things to do with his time.
  17. Dude was headhunting, pure and simple. It was obvious. He got a congratulatory low-five from a teammate afterward. It was a cheap shot delivered with malicious intent.

It’s called a chick in a dress, I’d say. But whatever.
  19. I can think of lots of places where you can see pornographic evidence of the ball between the uprights.

Wouldn’t that be more of a drag king, if there is such a thing?
