  1. Wow that’s a fucking awful contract…
  2. 1. Houston 2. Arizona 3.Creighton 4.Alabama 5.Wisconsin 6.BYU 7.Fuckin’ Horns 8.Mississippi State 9.TCU 10.Drake 11.NC State 12.McNeese State 13.Samford 14.Colgate 15.Western Kentucky 16.Grambling/Montana State WC - North Carolina
  3. Too bad Jay Randolph is retired, we might have had a shot…
  4. So we’re 2-1 as a favorite and 0-2 as a dog? That 1999 team was just worn the fuck out by the end of the year. We started 0-4 but got things turned around with a short bench, and by mid-February we were playing as well as anyone. It caught up to us in the end; we lost to Missouri at home with a chance to win the conference, struggled against a shitty Colorado team and lost to Okie Lite in the B12 tourney, and dropped this game in Boston. Was a great season, but the light roster was just done by March. That Duke game pissed me off; I’m not generally one to blame officiating for a loss, but they were particularly bad this game, even more so on any call on either end of the floor involving Damian James. The 2014 team was completely overmatched against Michigan, the better team definitely won that game…
  5. Jesus Christ man, stop taking yourself so fucking seriously. It’s a fucking internet fan board; you could take your own advice and ignore what people here say, since the vast majority of it offends your clearly superior basketball intellect.
  6. So for all the bluster in this thread, anyone here (a) have season tickets and (b) going to Charlotte? I might have an extra ticket….
  7. And God forbid anyone mention it or (even worse) like it, but Jalen Green has been playing really well over the last month or so…
  8. Was more around the notion that a guy who has averaged 95 catches a year since 2017 (and that’s with one year of 66) is ‘always hurt’ than the value of the $18MM or the extension. Dick comment though; I’m mostly full of shit. I hope Nico has taken that next step in his 3rd year like so many WRs do, and that Tank completely recovers and shows the explosiveness he showed over the 11 games he played last year. Still, I think we have to keep in mind that our receiver room is a guy who hadn’t had 40 catches or 500 yards before last year; a guy who will be 32 in week 1, is known for his blocking and is 5 years removed from a 1,000 yard season; a guy still trying to come back from beating leukemia; and two guys who were prepping for their pro day this time last year. There is absolutely potential in this group, but given that we have a generational QB who apparently needs 2 weeks to get used to the pro game, I’d like to prioritize putting playmakers around him above everything and let DeMeco scheme around weaknesses on D. Shit, worse comes to worse he looks like he could suit up and give us 30 snaps a game….
  9. Not a bad deal for experienced depth; was hopeful Deculus could grow into that role but I doubt he makes it out of camp…
  10. Eh, wide receivers are a dime a dozen, right?
  11. As opposed to staying in LA with one year left? Post a list of all the 30+ year old non-QBs in NFL history who have held out of an $18MM deal…
  12. Did you watch the NFL last year? Compare Keenan Allen’s numbers to Nico; this would have been a hell of a one-year rental. He missed some time with injury in 2022; other than that he’s caught at least 95 passes every year since 2016. It didn’t work out, but a dude like this on a one-year deal would be huge for CJ’s development. This is real football, not your fucking fantasy team….
  13. It quit mattering years ago, and probably wouldn’t have mattered that night, but with 43 seconds left we were down by 5 and Syracuse was inbounding on the sideline, and their inbound guy took three lateral steps, which should have been our ball. tl;dr - that loss sucked but that year was fun as hell…
  14. That was an epic week of national tours; within an 8-day span you had that show, U2, and two consecutive nights of Pink Floyd. The 2nd of those Floyd shows is when I definitively answered the question “Is it possible to die from an overdose of LSD?” (shockingly, no!) The FEC was a shit venue for music and basketball, but for better or for worse it was what we had. Probably my worst experience there was paying $29 (a lot of fucking money for me back then) to see a Tyson fight on closed-circuit and being in the pisser when he knocked out Michael Spinx in the first 35 seconds or some such shit…
  15. Sure feels like things are getting lined up for some kind of trade; we’ll see….
  16. Too lazy to do the math but the net/net of the Deshaun/Will A/Vikings deals keeps looking better. If that fucking aggy guard can get his shit together this year it looks even better….
  17. Kid just hasn’t given them any reason at all to waste any more time in the minors. He’s ready…
  18. Better to have weed and not need it than to need weed and not have it..
  19. Yeah I’m not too worried; there are still rotational pieces left in FA, plus the draft will shake loose a few veterans; there’s also June 1st cuts and the trade market. Agree with the above that this doesn’t mandate that we take an DT in Round 1. I’d say QB and DE are off the table because of existing talent on the roster, LB, S, RB, and TE because of a combo of positional value and the talent in this particular draft. That leaves WR, OL, DT, and CB - I’m good with BPA from that group, and there’s some good options there. This is a crazy-deep WR group… EDIT - No way in hell we were going $17/year for AA. Good for him, and good for us. I like where we are right now, time to move on to the draft…
  20. Let that be a fucking lesson… Cutting Jimmie Ward would save $3.8MM this year so there’s a little more available if you want to upgrade at more of a center fielder type than a close-to-the line guy. I’m not as down on Pitre as a lot of people, I think if you can put him in a hybrid LB/safety role he can be a playmaker. Cutting Robert Woods adds $5.5MM to that total, so if you want to upgrade Ward there’s $9.3MM available on top of the $21.55 listed above. If you cut Woods you probably want to draft a WR in the first three rounds, which I’d like to do regardless….
  21. Everything worked fine for me with Command Line….
  22. This seems like a good option to me, provided a WR/DB they really like doesn’t unexpectedly fall to 23. I really like the way Sainristil plays, would be a good option for late 2nd round…
  23. Yeah I would expect at least one in the draft to push for Woods’ roster spot, if nothing else to free up $5MM for Nico’s extension…
