  1. funny, i make the same face every time i visit this thread
  2. I agree with the MIL tactic, but given what we've seen from Cannon thus far, she won't rule on it and just say that the jury instructions will be given to the jury when the time comes. Can you get to the 11th when a judge continues to say "I haven't made any ruling yet."
  3. That could definitely be the case here, but I'm pretty sure there are many banks in CA that will now do business with those in the industry.
  4. I came across Dogtooth in 2011 and randomly watched it one night knowing nothing about Yorgos or the movie. I couldn't get the movie out of my head for months. Haven't missed any of his stuff since.
  5. In college I stopped showing up to a class after about the second week. Walked in to take the final months later and after I sat down the professor looked at me and, in front of everyone, said "what are you doing here?" Then informed me that I was welcome to take the exam but I'd be getting an F in the class regardless. Put my pens back in my pocket and walked out the room. Parents were pretty thrilled with that one.
  6. I suggest everyone read the last couple of pages of that. They formulate a set of jury instructions under Cannon's proposal to show how fucking stupid she is.
  7. no offense intended! I have a black lab friend.
  8. Bit of a segue here, but I think of this often when it comes to this conflict: I lived in the middle east as a child, and was there in '93 when the Oslo Accords were signed. I guess as some sort of "spread the word" mission, they (not sure how spearheaded this) had a group of Israeli children and a group of Palestinian children tour various cities to talk about how life had been pre-Oslo, and how they had such a bright vision for the future. They brought both groups to speak to our grade, as we were all about the same age. They told us that as part of this goodwill tour, they had played a cricket game - Israeli kids vs Palestinians. Neither side had really any experience with stick-and-ball games. I will never forget hearing a boy my age talk about how much better the Palestinian kids were at Cricket when neither side had any experience. The reason given for the talent gap was that the Palestinian children had been throwing rocks at tanks driving up and down their streets since they could walk, while the Israeli kids admitted not having any real experience throwing anything. To this day, whenever this conflict enters my mind, my immediate thought is that boy my age who grew up throwing rocks at tanks and I wonder where he is now.
  9. Lol, so you don't have any evidence to support your claim? Why bother responding?

    LBGTQ

    doesn't that mean you're having a stroke?
  11. Hell yeah! You tell those anonymous internet posters that you're not going to let them run your life!
  12. This one always makes me feel like I'm about to go tumbling into the river
  13. I actually don't think he violated the order there. IIRC, the judge did not include himself or his family as part of the order, only witnesses and prosecutors. Edit: missed the line about DA lies. That might be enough
  14. No you won't. Shit, we've banned you like 8 times and you don't get the hint.
  15. No, he was right. Posting a response does not mean you answered the question.
  16. I never said he did. I was explaining why people want him dead. Because he tried to install himself as an unelected dictator. Historically, when you do things like that and fail, you get a pretty severe comeuppance. Also, the way I'm framing it? He spent months trying to steal an election and install himself as leader. You look like a fucking fool trying to equivocate on the means.
  17. Trump tried to overturn an election, install himself as leader, and put an end to our form of Democracy in this country. Right?
  18. I had a legitimate, full-blown panic attack while driving over the Ravenel bridge in Charleston, SC many years ago. My first (and thankfully one of the last) panic attacks, so had no idea what was going on. Remains one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. None since, but every time I hit a bridge behind a wheel I take a deep breath and think "here we go."
