  1. I’m using the HBOMax app and when you go to the show’s main screen it says English, click on it and it changes to Italian. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  3. How is there no thread for this? It’s been one of the most popular shows in the world for several years and from what I’ve been told it’s easily one of the best gangster TV series ever. I just started it and I’m about halfway through Season 1 and it’s held up to its reputation so far. The influences from The Sopranos and The Wire are very obvious. 4. Watched Hunter Hunter last night and it exceeded all my expectations. Ending was nuts! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  6. It seems there are people that haven’t seen Starred Up. Remedy that. Big fan of Brawl In Cellblock 99. Just watched A Prayer Before Dawn last night about Billy Moore the English boxer who spent time in a Thailand prison and ended up competing in Muay Thai tournaments. It’s a difficult watch in some parts and was a little slow for the subject matter. I don’t think I can recommend it personally, but everyone else that sees it loves it so what do I know. 7. My oldest kid has me watching some of these - my first anime at age 45. - Attack on Titan - Maybe my favorite, very cool concept - The Last Airbender - The kids love this, but I’m a few episodes in and it just seems like a kids cartoon to me where these others are more adult oriented. - Tokyo Ghoul - Pretty good, enjoyed season 1. - The Promised Neverland - Depressing! Not sure I’m going to stick with it. - Parasyte - Liked this a lot. They have me set up to watch Devilman Crybaby this weekend? No idea what that is. Looks like I’ll check out Cowboy Bebop, Mob Psycho, One Punch Man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  8. Seriously not trying to start shit here, genuinely curious. I’ve always been for legalizing weed, and before San Francisco I was for legalizing everything. But after traveling to SF for work a few times and seeing all the junkies just chillin in the street, taking dumps, messing with people, shooting up in broad daylight, etc. I dont know. Its pretty much fucking chaos. I’m curious what’s going on there, because that’s fucking terrible. Is SF doing something differently than what Oregon will be doing? Educate me or rip me to shreds for my ignorance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Also - if you haven’t seen Red Dog, watch it with your kids. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Making my way through Korean cinema, my 4 favorites. The Man From Nowhere - Just saw this last night and loved it. Could not recommend this more if you like action thrillers. I Saw the Devil - A lot of people prefer this to TMFN but I think I liked TMFN more. Both are great, this one is more horror and has some crazy shit to sit through. The Wailing - One of the best horror movies I’ve see, period. Train to Busan - Great action horror, recommend. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Attack the Block. I had never heard of this movie a couple of weeks ago but then I started reading about it and how huge it was. Worth a watch I suppose but I was underwhelmed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. If you like the story and are in to horror movies definitely check out “The Innocents”. It’s definitely the best adaptation of The Turn of the Screw. There are probably 6-7 other adaptations - The Turning (terrible), The Nightcomers with Marlon Brando, and at least 4 other movies actually called “The Turn of the Screw” through the years. 14. Rec is my favorite found footage film and REC2 is just as good. You’ve got to stay away from the dubbed version. As stated above it’s not easy to find an original but I watched them both with original audio maybe 2 months ago on either Tubi or Pluto. Keep checking the “Justwatch” app periodically. I will go ahead and give an update since we saw some quality stuff over the weekend (in addition to TCM at the theater): Phenomena - I hadn’t watched an Argento film in a long time and I’ve never seen this one and damn I don’t know how I missed it. It’s a little slow and a bit all over the place but what an ending! Jennifer Connelly’s first film I think (and the chimp bit her finger off - for real). I think this is a must see just for the crazy-ass ending. (Amazon Prime) Ticks - Another “how the hell have I missed this?” movie. As far as creature features go, this instantly goes very close to the top. You think when you see Seth Green and Alfonso Ribeiro that it’s going to be just another cheesy B movie from the 90s - but it packs a major punch. The ticks are awesome, the gore is top-notch, and it has what has to be considered one of the best death scenes in horror history. (Tubi) The Mortuary Collection - This is a Shudder Exclusive and is definitely worth seeing. It’s basically an R rated Goosebumps. One of the better anthologies I’ve seen. (Shudder) Scare Me - I’ve seen some good reviews but it just didn’t work for me. (Shudder) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Went to see the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre at Tinseltown Plano last night. Some observations: (Spoilers?) - Why did I think the kids were traveling to Austin for a concert? Is that in a remake? A different movie? The fact they went down there to check if their Grandfathers grave was messed with makes total sense. - I had always remembered the door slam scene (first kill) as being the scariest scene. In the theater, the scene where Leatherface comes out of the dark to kill Franklin was the scariest. - Marilyn Burns’ screamed non stop for a solid 30 minutes. I bet she couldn’t talk for a month. - Cool to learn Larroquette did the narration for a joint. - Camera work is just incredible. - I hadn’t remembered the black truck driver coming in and saving the day at the end. He wasn’t having it! I’m going to assume he lives after saving her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  18. My bi-weekly update: - Rewatched Hereditary with a family member that hadn’t seen it. I think it gets better with every watch. I can understand if it’s just not you’re thing, but I can’t see how any horror movie enthusiast could call this a bad movie. Including the beginning of Midsommar, Ari Astor can make the audience feel real dread better than anyone. - The Lie (Amazon Prime) - A must watch IMO. One of the worst movies that I couldn’t turn away from. If you can go in to it understanding that all characters are going to be horrible people who will continuously make the worst decision possible, then you can enjoy it for the terrible movie it is. The acting is....wow. Over the top. - The Deeper You Dig (Shudder) - An extremely low budget indie film written, directed, and acted by a husband, wife, daughter trio. It is unlike anything I have seen before. They bring together some really creepy visuals that had me squirming in my seat for sure, with a pretty good story. Definitely worth seeing. - The Hitcher - Do I really need to even say anything? If you have never seen this (original from the 80s), do it. - Alone (2020, VOD) - Nothing too original, but worth watching - Excision (Prime) - Sick and twisted coming of age story about a girl with psychosexual fantasies about surgery. Not for the faint of heart but pretty damned awesome. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  19. You turned this off??? You missed out. We watched it twice this weekend. Hilariously bad. The worst characters, who continuously make the worst possibly decisions, and to top it off the acting is so over the top it’s cringeworthy. If I hadn’t researched and found out it otherwise, I would have thought it was supposed to be a dark comedy. I’d give it another shot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  20. I’m not sure any other Director has the ability to make the viewer feel dread or true sorrow like Ari Astor. The one seen in Hereditary (we all know which one, and it’s not when it actually happens that hits you, its the 5 mins after) and then the beginning of Midsommar. Probably the 2 best examples of making the viewer feel sorrow I can think of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Love the A Mighty Wind Soundtrack. Anything Levy and O’Hara do together is magic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Aw hell, this is where I contribute to this board. My family watches a shit load of horror. According to Letterboxd, we have watched 180 in 2 years. Can’t spend too much time on this tonight but here are a few: - If you haven’t seen Trick r’ Treat during Halloween you need to. - The Loved Ones - Just watched this again recently. Pretty gnarly. - Incident in a Ghostland is pretty decent, very cool concept. Like The Loved Ones, it’s not for the faint of heart. - Rewatch the 1988 version of The Blob. - Host was a lot of fun. We all watched it at the same time, in the same room, each on our own device with headphones. It was awesome. If you don’t know why, you will when you see it. - The Blackcoat’s Daughter is one we liked. Kinda slow, but we like that if it pays off. - The Innocents (1961) - The Wailing - There are a lot of great Korean horror movies, this may be the best. - Hereditary is probably my favorite horror movie - REC and REC 2 are my favorite found footage - Sleepaway Camp for anyone that hasn’t seen it. - Creep 1 and 2 with Mark Duplass are fun. - Top it off with some Killer Klowns from Outer Space! If you want to see a list - I’m on Letterboxd - wutang75. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  23. The Chris Watts thing was pretty good. It’s all video footage that we have all seen before, the difference is they provide timelines based on her text messages and social media posts. It’s extremely sad how the FB/internet sleuths jumped all over her when he first said she killed the girls. People couldn’t wait to blame her. He got that entire idea from the female agent (Tammy Lee I think?), who I thought was pretty great. The scene where they do the polygraph is a great scene. Chilling. No doubt he did it all for the nookie. The nookie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  25. I should add....my daughters name is Parker. And yes I got the idea from the great Parker Posey. Edit: The GHWB story is the greatest thing I’ve ever read on the Shag. Bravo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
