  1. Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi.
  2. Battle of New Orleans. The Battle of New Orleans was fought on Sunday, January 8, 1815,[1] between the British Army under Major General Sir Edward Pakenham, and the United States Army under Brevet Major General Andrew Jackson.[2] It took place approximately 5 miles (8.0 kilometres) east-southeast of the city of New Orleans,[3] close to the present-day town of Chalmette, Louisiana, and was an American victory.[2] The battle effectively marked the end of the War of 1812.
  3. Everything will change once they hire Kendal Briles. White women better have their heads on a swivel.
  4. I bought this Ruger Ranch Rifle in 7.62x39 recently. Wished it had the original furniture.
  5. I bought one for concealed carry a couple of months ago. I've probably got 600 rounds through it and no failures, so far. It has been a great gun. I bought it to replace my Sig P938 which has been a very nice carry gun. Just interested in the additional capacity of the 365. They are practically the same size.
  6. The barrel in the picture is 410/45 acp. I have another 6" barrel that is 357/38 sp. Sits on my desk.
  7. I got my shoulder replaced last June. It's been a year and except for a little stiffness in the morning, I don't even notice it. Dr. Michael Loeb with Texas Orthopedics in Austin. I stretch in out in the morning and its good to go for the rest of the day. No restrictions at all. I went thru two years of progressively more pain before I finally decided to have it done. Dr. Loeb said it should last 15 years or more, but the procedure & materials were so new they haven't been doing it long. I will say that I had absolutely no pain from the operation. They tied a bag around my neck with pain killer and I kept it on for about 5 days. Removed the needle from my neck and still no pain. Prior to the operation, I was buying Advil by the case.
  8. There is a whole range of quality with the Weatherby shotguns. Last year they came out with the Orion Sportsman for about $1000. It really depends on what model you get. Technically, Weatherby doesn't "design" shotguns. However, they do contract with certain firearm manufacturers to make shotguns for them that have certain Weatherby specified features. These features could have to do with things like stock dimensions, stock engraving, stock finishes, grade of wood, metal engraving, metal finishes, choke tube system, and so on. Typically, Weatherby will chose a company that already makes a shotgun that meets their basic needs as to action type and operating features, and then they specify what changes they want made and the quality standards they must meet before putting the Weatherby name on it.
  9. Just read that BCS starts on August 6th
  10. Last night I was reviewing on my DVR the Series Manager. I couldn't make myself delete The Americans. I think I'll leave it there for awhile, just for the memories.
  11. For some reason I have always wanted a Kahr MK9. Out of the blue, one came up for sale at a giveaway price and I couldn't resist. Picked it up this afternoon.
