  1. I can’t get breakfast tacos at my velvet taco, so torchys wins by default.
  2. Mine went up 3% in Harris county. I live in west u so not an insignificant amount. Should I even bother contesting? Looks like it is now at the value we bought a couple of years ago.
  3. Do they make you fill/charge that bad boy up before returning it?
  4. Got my first summons ever earlier this year. Went in not knowing what to expect, and thought the process was pretty smooth for the most part. Got called back for voir dire for a capital murder case. I was juror 50 something and thinking there was no way they get to me. I was picked as the last alternate. All the jurors showed up during the trial so I stayed an alternate, which was nice. The only thing the alternates didn’t do was sit in on jury deliberations. We still went back into the courtroom when guilty verdict was rendered. It was intense. I’ll say after going throughout the process, I have much more respect for the system and people involved. Especially the prosecuting attorneys. That seems like a tough job. I’m glad I did it, but I’ll probably not respond to a summons again unless I’m retired.
  5. I am coming up on my 1 year of purchasing a home and had a home warranty as part of the purchase. I am not going to waste my own money to renew. Our AC was approaching 20 years old and broke down the beginning of summer. It needed to be replaced obviously, but since it was so old, R22, they offered me a couple thousand toward a replacement. Happy to get that, but it took them about 3 weeks to make that decision. Plus their hvac contractor was shady as hell. I took the cash out option and chose my own. So I guess I came out a little ahead, but I rather not have to deal with the process again.
