  1. He's referring to A&M commit Dallas Walker. Big, strong mobile SEC-sized kid who plays DT, DE, and TE for his high school. Like Broughton, he can play 3tech DT and SDE at the P5 level. Raikes is a 0-tech NT type. High motor kid with excellent quickness and agility. A&M has 4* WDE Fadil Diggs committed too. Like Texas and OU, they're recruiting nationally and doing it quite well. They're still in the final group of schools for 4* Umanmielen, 4* McKinley Jackson, and the high 4* de from Florida. Defensive line recruiting is not a problem for that staff.
  2. They had a lesser rb than Evans lead the SEC in rushing and run for 1700+ yds last season behind that Oline. The two starting tackles were low 3*'s. Give the devil his due. Fisher is as good as any playcaller / OC in P5 at designing and executing run schemes which successfully attack and exploit the weaknesses in opposing defenses.
  3. Either I have a different definition of "elite athleticism" than you have, or I watched the wrong junior szn hudl tape then. There was not a single play in that hudl tape that said 'elite athlete' to me. He looks like he could develop into a reliable jag D1 tight end and contribute on special teams. There's nothing wrong with that. Programs need those types too.
  4. Stowers and Milroe are both projects. Not unusual for junior-qb's-to-be. But if their pass completion % and td to int ratio don't improve considerably as juniors and seniors, then yeah that would be a bad sign. Dematrious Davis is a lot more developed as a qb, but he's listed as 5' 11". Course so are Mayfield, Brees, and Kyler. Very high completion %. The sophmore qb at Lubbock Coronado has impressive tape. He only has one P5 offer so far (Wisconsin). Pro-style qb.
  5. Texas is not anywhere close to the level of Clemson or Bama, true. Texas is also not above Washington's level. Washington has 32 wins, two Pac12 titles, and one CFP appearance in the past 3 seasons. Texas fits in somewhere in the Stanford / Oregon / Michigan / Wisconsin / A&M / LSU / Auburn / Penn State / Iowa / Notre Dame / Georgia / Michigan / Washington pecking order of second-tier teams.
