  1. He mainly keeps time and make sure the orchestra stays together with his guidance. They don't need him to tell them how to play the music but to make sure they don't start playing at different tempos, causing it to sound off. Within each piece, there are tempo changes and he guides these for the different groups, even how fast or slower they need to go. Also, to play louder or more quiet. I used to wonder the same thing and had it explained to me.
  2. He was definitely not trying to keep the peace. He grabbed a dude by the throat region in the beginning and was being held back. He was right in the middle of it.
  3. Yep, OL is going to be bad. DL is also going to bad. Won't be able to run the ball or stop the run. Recipe for disaster.
  4. Didn't they hire him back a few years after they fired him? Not in the same capacity, but some special assistant title in the athletic department. Not sure if he still has that or not.
  5. But fanbase will continue to only blame Dak and think it will magically change after. Remember hearing this same stuff at the end of Aikman's tenure. And we all know the black hole between Aikman and Romo. Not a ton of hope for Trey Lance, who couldn't even succeed in the SF QB friendly system to succeeding in our circus franchise. Good luck with that young man who has almost no QB experience at this level.
  6. Stafford is very talented at throwing pick 6's for sure.
  7. I have none. I think we can dick around to the playoffs because we own Washington and NYG and can usually split Philly. Especially with the extra playoff spot these days. But in terms of actually winning in the playoffs? No hope. Only if we somehow get matched up with a shitty team like Tampa a few seasons ago. But once we face a legit team, no shot. And let's not pretend this Green Bay team was super legit. They caught fire late and were a sleeper team but weren't a contender. But we made them look like one. That was about as bad a playoff loss as I can remember. Minnesota 2009 and Detroit 1991 also come to mind. Just dominated start to finish and stood no chance. Except this one was at home. Embarrassing.
  8. Hanging out at shot bars at his age? Hanging out at bars in general with all the alcohol issues he's had in the past? Probably not the best idea. The fact we are discussing why didn't his people assault another group because he was cold clocked in a bar fight in his 40s is pretty embarrassing at this point. Texas has bent over backwards giving him multiple chances to land on his feet with his past decisions with alcohol and here we are again. He was the aggressor in the beginning of the video. He wasn't some innocent bystander in all this. And he was still being physical at the end. He was fair game, no rules in nonsense bar fights. People will pick up stools, sticks and hit you with it if they need to. Or even worse, pull out a knife or a gun and just kill you on the spot.
  9. If you are telling your almost 10 year vet that you need to "prove it", that speaks wonders to how much they don't believe in him. Time to move on if thats the case. I'm sure the list is next to none of guys who take 9-10 years to finally get over the hump. I guess you can point to Elway but he had way more success than Dak once he finally won it all and had already been to a Super Bowl. The only one I can think of is Stafford, but it took him going to a whole new franchise and a great coach for QBs. So if that's the case, Dak won't do it here. But those who think replacing Dak alone is going to magically cure things will have a hard dose of reality. I'm not against replacing Dak at this point but there are still so many holes to fill. OL and DL being the main ones. Those are huge areas of concern. Then their approach to drafting. Last year's class so far looks like a big bag of dog shit.
  10. There are no rules, though. That is the exact point. You can be jumped 5 on 1 if they want. People looking to catch you off guard and cold clock you. VY was right in the middle of it the whole time. VY was right in the middle of it the whole time, even grabbed someone by the throat. You saying he was playing peacemaker the whole time? He was having to be held back in the beginning. He was still being physical at the end of it. He wasn't paying attention to the smaller dude looking to deck someone. And paid the price. And nah, I stay away from bars because of this ignorant behavior displayed by VY and the others in the video. Being in your 40s and getting into fights at bars has to be embarrassing. Especially for the whole world to see. You get into a fight outside of a controlled sport, all bets are off. People can cry "Cheap shot" all they want, but doesn't really mean anything. Guarantee that doesn't happen if he was on his toes, That guy isn't going to attempt that if VY was paying attention to him. Not sure how saying that is being a "tough guy". It's reality. I have been into a few scuffles in a bar/strip club over a decade ago. Got punched without me even paying attention by a much bigger dude at a Ft Worth strip club and he didn't stop until they pulled him off. So yeah, I am well aware of this ignorant behavior unfortunately at these havens for drunk people wanting to get physical for any reason. I'd need to re-evaluate my life, though if this will still happening to me in my 40s.
  11. But this makes no real sense because that's bad business and money management. Keep kicking the can down the road and eat shit when that player is done and then you retool. As long as you have the QB you think can win, move the money around to keep re-stocking with talent every year. Them signing him to a brand new deal next year isn't going to be beneficial for the team in terms of what else they can sign. If this is their approach, then there is no hope. You only ride it out if you plan on moving on with someone else ala Lance. And then the Trey Lance trade would make even less sense than it actually has.
  12. How many surprise onsides even happened on a yearly basis and beyond that, how many worked? Seems the opposing team were on guard for an onside when it was a situation that might warrant it. The most infamous surprise onside I can remember was the Saints/Colts Super Bowl to start the 2nd half by the Saints.
  13. Bingo. This wasn't like he was standing off to the side wanting no part of it. He was right in the middle of it the whole time. But I'm sure he thought he'd have to answer to his boys if he wasn't in the middle of it with them. Way too old to even have to be worrying about any of that, though. VY needs to chill but not sure he ever will. This is who he is.
  14. Same. I did all that in my mid 20s until early 30s. Bars, breastaurants, clubs, strip clubs. Don't miss it all. Don't regret enjoying it when I went, though. The only time I get a drink when out is if we are at a restaurant. I don't go out just to go to a bar anymore. I can enjoy it more at home.
  15. And another aspect of Trey Lance is we are wasting his cheap years. I assume he won't play this season and that would be 2 full years of sitting on the bench we can't take advantage of. The best recipe is to take advantage of your QB on their cheaper deals. If you have zero faith in Dak to win going forward, what is the point of even starting him this year? You need to see what you have in Lance to see if he's even a viable option. So much unknown about him except when he did start at SF, he wasn't good. I'd hate to give an extension to someone you have zero idea they can even play.
