  1. LSU's best shot at winning the game is doing what they've done for years and running the ball up the gut and trying to wear down the other line by their size and athleticism. Trying to break in a new offense on the road with an o-line and qb not suited for the new scheme seems like a recipe for disaster irrespective of how good Texas is.
  2. Only thing that matters is that Sam is better than Hurts. Orlando needs to throw some difficult schemes at him and we should make hurts look like from in the Sugar Bowl. Not a bad pickup by OU but hurts has limitations that baker and kyler didn't have
  3. Corner and o-line will be biggest question marks next year. If we want to get through the season we will need to pick up a grad transfer or two on the line just for sufficient depth in case of an injury or general wear and tear. If Jones comes back our safety depth should be good enough to help offset some of the growing pains of having inexperienced corners.
  4. Sam has been injured which has not allowed him to run as much the past few weeks. If his shoulder is fine and we feel comfortable running him the run game becomes much better. Biggest x-factor of the game will be Duvernay. If Sam can hit him early LJH and CJ will be open the rest of the night.
  5. Saban was never an option that was unrealistic.
  6. Yea, whoever our AD was didn't want to pay the 900k that Oklahoma St wanted for him to take a lateral job so Strong was stuck with making him a playcaller.
  7. I just really don't buy that brand recognition had nothing to do with Ohio St getting in. You don't believe that had it been a scenario similar to 08 with both a 1 loss Texas and Oklahoma team that Ohio St gets in over either of those teams because deciding the tie would be "icky." Ohio St got in because they were the better draw for viewers and it just helped that they killed Wisconsin in their CCG. It didn't matter how much Ohio St won buy the committee had the 13th data point excuse made up well in advance. It's the same reason Bama gets in without winning their conference.
  8. It was created because of the bullshit cfp excuse that Ohio St got in over TCU and Baylor due to their 13th data point. When everyone knew it was just so they could put a bigger name team into the game. Now if it had been Texas and Oklahoma that Ohio St jumped there would be some reason for it, but I doubt that would have happened. I don't think Ohio St winning against Northwestern would be a legitimate reason to vote them over Ou if they didn't play next week. I think how the cfp ranks the two tomorrow would be the same a week later whether Ou would beat Texas or not play them.
  9. He was good at recruiting, but one of the worst game managers I've ever seen. Looking back on the list of candidates from that year there weren't a ton of good options. Only realistic one that would have been good was Franklin.
  10. LSU, Florida, and Kentucky way overrated. I don't think the SEC can hide them this year. Bowl season should expose them.
  11. I think getting Arkansas is not that far fetched. They have not been associated with Texas for close to thirty years so pride wouldn't keep them from jumping ship like it would to aggy or nebraska. They haven't won anything in the SEC and won't for a long time. They might lose money initially, but they would get to play their biggest rival again and have a better shot at the CFP and national relevance. If the Big 12 got them anyone else would be fine.
  12. CJ will be gone for sure, but LJH might stay one more. Would love to see Ehlinger and LJH tear up LSU next year.
  13. Aggy goes 6-6 maybe 7-5 with 4 ooc games and only having to play Bama and LSU as quality SEC opponents. I'm not sure you could ask for a more favorable schedule and even then I don't think they have much more room for improvement. The fact LSU wins consistently is a testament to how poor the quality of play is in the SEC. How a team that hasn't completed a forward pass in a decade can compete is mind boggling
