So what does that mean about the WR spots since Wingo is so good. Bond and golden get spots. Would it be wingo bond golden cook? Moore seems to be good too. I wonder if someone transfers.

WRs want to play in this offense and they’ll get in line to do it. If someone transfers, no fucks should be given. That said, they like their guys and the word is that the guys are happy. The rotation will be expanded this season.

  2. While I have been to steakhouses all over, fortunately, in my travels for work and pleasure, I still think Pappa’s on Westheimer ranks as high as any of them. So that’s why they were in the list, I guess.

Anyway, I think we’re doing Da Marco. I wanted BCN since I haven’t been since last year but the other female doesn’t like spanish food.

Agreed on Coppa being a place I can, and do, go to regularly.

Yeah I get the sense that Gerry isn't as tapped into the ongoings of Texas basketball as was in the past.

Both Hunter and Mitchell indicated that they were going to portal last year, even though Texas wanted them back. Their people put out feelers at other places and regarding the NBA. Both decided Texas, and the NIL with it, were worth it. So Texas, and therefore Gerry, thought they were gone.

Last year isn’t this year in regard to how choices are being made.

Also, Gerry talks and texts with key members on the staff whenever he wants. They’re probably not super pumped about the “embarrassing” comments right now, but there isn’t anyone better connected to the program while Ogden and Terry are around than Gerry.

Yes, it should be a given. But on these boards, I’m never certain.

Suppose I said that as I’d be considered pro-DP. I see positives with him but it’s as much pro-Texas as anything. I’m almost always pro player so I’ll be positive on that front even though my opinions/views have no impact on the actual season.

Mix in a little homerism and we’re finishing strong. As annoying as that hope may be to some. Not the “finishing strong” but my optimism for the finish.

You do you. That said, The Stockdale Paradox is your friend.

  5. A small group of us have 4 reservations for Friday night and I'm trying to decide which one is the most interesting at this moment in time. None of these are new but they're all nice and that's as much this thread as anything. Anybody got a strong opinion? It's for 2 couples:

    -Coppa

    -Pappa's Steakhouse

    -BCN

    -DaMarco

We've all been to all of these before.

Are you saying those statements are false?

My comment was just stirring the pot. Honestly I have no idea who would be the top 5/10 coaches. They’ll all have flaws. And it would be like Sark - right place, right time as to which guy would be best.

I don’t give up on the season until it’s over. That’s where I am. I see the upside to this team although that takes a hit with the Witt news. I’m more a DP fan than ever just cause all the shit talkin but that’s my mentality - right or wrong. But I’m more about Texas succeeding than any coach. I’ll worry about next year after this year.

The concept of being "more about Texas than a coach" should be an absolute given. I didn't even realize that there was a scenario in which the opposite could be the case.

  7. That was truly the most worthless practice report I have ever read.

Regardless, the word is that Gabriel Brownlow Dindy has packed up his bible and offering tray and headed towards the city limits. If so, that's another 5 star - out. 13 of 30 players from 2022 and counting.

One thing Karels did provide was just a recitation of who was actually on campus and on the roster. I counted 9 guys that I would trade for someone on UT's roster as of right now. By that I mean, if I could have Shemar Stewart instead of Max Merrill, I would make that trade today.

So you lied. I used simple context clues and made an inference about your post about Bakich coaching on the east coast.

You are a child. I’m not going to continue to go multiple rounds over this on a Wednesday because there are much more important things in life. Save us both the time.

You can want David Pierce fired, that’s fine, I have no loyalty to David Pierce other than the fact he is the current head man of Texas baseball. All I’ll say is if you are going to fire someone who has made it to Omaha 3/6 full seasons and won his conference 3/6 seasons, the plan better be a hell of a lot better than money whipping Erik Bakich and Tom Walters.

    Negged.

Now you are lying, at no point did I say I know more about college baseball than you because I post more than you and you won’t find a single post stating that.

You did that for me with your assessment of Walters and Vitello

You sit here and negg people on a message board like a child.

No, I didn't lie. I used simple context clues and made an inference. Again, you're using another weak rhetorical tactic in a futile attempt to equivocate about displayed behaviors.

As to negging, it's the currency we have here and my exchange with you in which you straight up made shit up was worth more to me than just a tedious dialogue. Cry about it.

I guess we will see. Nobody expected Mitchell or Hunter back last year either.

Maybe we've already seen, though? As of right now, there is zero NIL allocation available for either player.

You chose to get butt hurt over the geographical location of Michigan to try and be an asshole when it was a quick summarization of every coaching stop to save everyone the geography lecture.

You like to belittle people. It’s okay.

#3 and #4 in that post sitting right next each other is also pretty amusing because it shows how little you know about college baseball

Okay, so you were flatly wrong on some idiotic take initially. I called you on it, since it was idiotic. Now you just attempted, because we're in a different thread and you think you're in some sort of safe space, to spin that weak shit into me being ignorant of where a coach coached that I brought up first? That's yellow, dishonest, spineless shit and also laughable. So negged again now that that is confirmed.

Beyond that, I don't enjoy belittling people. I don't really care what you think about it either way. I will admit to not suffering fools or liars well, and you appear to be both, so you've made yourself worthy of forward derision from me every chance I get, whether you approve or not.

As to dick measuring about baseball knowledge, you are simply guilty of the same old trope of other baseball board denizens that because you post on Texas baseball more, you therefore believe that somehow magically identifies you as more knowledgeable. If that thinking gives you some sort of low-info poster comfort, I'm not here to take it from you.

  12. 3 minutes ago, chase25 said:

It’s pretty straight forward, but you didn’t even know where Bakich had coached when you threw out his name as the savior of Texas baseball. So maybe I am expecting a little too much

If you're going to make shit up as a rhetorical tactic in a discussion with me, it's not going to go well and I will enjoy the following experience. So why don't you verify that you aren't a lying sack of human shit and show me that post where I didn't know where Bakich coached?

What are the parameters for your expectations of Texas baseball?

I’m trying to figure it out just so I can see if the pitch fork mob even has a competent plan for what’s next.

I don't understand this question. Can you de-corporatize yourself for a second and put something in plain English that you'd like answered?

What bottle in the price range is better?

Listen, BO&W has quotas he has to hit each day on this board, or the system will cast him permanently to purgatory where he can only chat with himself. Today is Wednesday, so he has to post a minimum of 30 idiotic hawt takes or he gets yanked. His post about Casamigos is just one drop in the bucket and perfectly ignorable for the rest of us.

  15. Looks like this thread is certifiably surly already, just on page 3. It's the next year's basketball team thread and the only thing being discussed is personnel that will not actually be a part of the team next year.

    meh

Rink didn't pass the "can this guy make a difference for us winning the CFP?" test. Good pickup for the aggies though. If they're in the process of reorienting around the notion of being a development school, like KSU, Iowa, or Kentucky, they'll be a consistently good 9-4/8-5 program. I don't think the mouthbreathers will let Elko settle into that, but it looks like he's got something trending towards the right idea.

@HenryJames can you tell me what % of our NIL Witt ate up to not pitch? And who we passed on to get him back.

That’s terrible for him. He seems as orange blooded as any player we got which makes it a bit more disappointing.

I'm interested in hearing details from HJ on this one.

College football/basketball used to seem to me to be a better job than pro’s because of recruiting and development. The current 24-7-365 environment of portal and NIL would absolutely kill my enjoyment as a coach.

This is the same lamentation that coaches and ex-coaches make on XM84 all day long.  It’s tiring. Don’t like the role now? Feel free to step out of line and watch 100 more show up and try to replace you. That game done changed, get over it or the get the fuck out.

What amazes me is why anyone cheering for and/or supporting Texas would look at this era in any sport as a negative. Texas is one of the biggest net-gainers from portal + NIL times.

Now, we have a tiny clown in baseball rendering advantages things moot currently and we may potentially have a normal sized clown in basketball doing the same, not sure yet, but that’s on coaching, not the era.

Do us all a favor and go back to the football boards

I hate this kind of take as much as I hate the fucking sunshine pumping that you’ve been doing all baseball season.

You’re not the only poster that follows multiple sports. Posters on the baseball or basketball boards don’t magically know more about either sport because they type about them more. Same as football posters.

I don’t care if Texas winds up going 2 and a Q again in Omaha and some of you “David Pierce just needs 7 more years!” guys wind up feeling vindicated by that this season. This is a bad year with a team that has holes in it. Year 7 with a solid NIL foundation means that the fucking midget coaching the team shouldn’t get any benefit of the doubt when consistently losing to unknown or bad baseball programs.

My pay grade is a little lower than Ohtani so I'm no expert on the workings of high level finance. But it would seem to me one can't just wire transfer $4.5 million without the banks verifying identity a few times during the process. So either we are to believe Ippie is the dumbest motherfucker on the planet who forged signatures and impersonated his golden goose to steal millions from his boss. Or, Ohtani is super secretive about his life because he's a degenerate lying scumbag with no qualms about throwing a brother/lover from another mother under the bus to save himself.

One of the two is a piece of shit human being. Wonder what the odds are on that bet?

The banks don’t handhold that stuff. Billions are moved around in wires everyday. You need your login credentials and a token code to match the dynamic authentication code and you’re good.
