Because I'm tired of them.  LeBron is almost fucking 40 and has been the center of the basketball world for 20 years.  KD is 35.  Steph is 36.  Just go away and let me watch the younger guys like Ant, Brunson, Halliburton, Chet, Banchero, etc.  I'd be much more interested in watching that.  I'm not a big fan of the old dudes hanging on for one more go-round.  You've had your shot, now let the younger guys take over.

I don't need any more LeBron, Steph or KD in my life.  I'm full.

You might find that those younger guys while talented simply aren't as good.

Also separate question, how many of yall that like this show have seen Scorsese’s movie Silence?

I just learned of it this weekend and wonder if it’s any good and worth a watch if the wife and I love Shogun…

It is a good but not enjoyable movie

I get teased daily that I’m the Rainey Street Ripper. I mean it’s cool bc now my inbox isn’t flooded with crap anymore. Plus, I’m notorious now.

I’ve been on X lately a lot more bc I’m following a case of a young boy in Tennessee who went missing. He has autism. Someone very close to me has autism and this particular case strikes a chord with me. At any rate, most people are good people that follow this case.

but There are a few though that will find every tweet you make and attack you for thinking his mom/stepdad might be guilty. I used to respond to those attacks. It’s not like they stopped attacking and they agreed with me they just kept posting and attacking and I’d attack back.

and it derailed a very good thread regarding theories and information on this young boy. Finding him is so important. After that I no longer acknowledge. I just ignore. And keep ignoring. I don’t block anyone on the chance they might have good info but now that I ignore people instead of trying to make them agree with me, it doesn’t bother me anymore and it won’t derail threads. The OP can deal with it. Jmo. My two cents that no one asked for ever.

Looking forward to returning to Austin at some point and hanging out in the entertainment district. Check out the lake and order some Chilean sea bass (the epitome of class and elegance in fine dining.)

If the same thing happened today, it would create substantially the same kind of circus.

There would be some differences due to the absurd political climate of the day, but it would still be huge.

that news cycle wouldn't last a week

@henrygandorf is right: that was such an epically productive time for Hollywood.  It is my fervent hope that as comic book mania recedes, much like Western's, we will see another burst of creativity and innovative film making.

I mean we already saw it but it was on TV instead, you're not going to get the kind of creative freedom you got from New Hollywood without some sort of triggering cultural event and generally something has to collapse for a movement to happen, there's only one French New Wave.

it's like the stupid argument people get into about pulp fiction and how telling a story out-of-sequence isn't that special (duh, because pulp fiction basically invented it).

no like everything else Tarantino copied it and popularized it for stupid people

Well Chinatown was nominated for 11 Oscars and the only thing that won was screenplay. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since Towne was writing for Jack Nicholson and McQuarrie for Stephen Baldwin.

Though adapted from a book, best screenplay in this genre is LA Confidential.

I mean no you're wrong, Chinatown is one of the greatest screenplays of all time. The only competition is like the Godfather, Citizen Kane and Casablanca

My most hated athlete of all-time is David Ortiz fwiw. I can be objective. I’ve known of Martinez since he was a recruit because of his status as a homie, but I mean he’s done nothing but show out at the P5 level. Thought it’d be worth it to bring him in since he’s at the top of his game, vs our current RB’s who while talented are still growing/learning. But fuck me I guess.

  9. Kentucky was done with him, he'd lost most of his power and autonomy and was just a matter of time before they terminated him so he left before they could. Cal won when he had overwhelming talent, he was routinely outcoached. For multiple reasons that talent gap is no longer there and he didn't adjust to the portal era.

paying $175k for a star hs kid to be a back up is a thing of the past

the blue bloods have been nuked by the utter shit pile that is American high school basketball, theres no recruiting advantage when all 5 stars are busts

Don't know how the tv folks never had a Fall Guy and T.J. Hooker crossover event. Or, maybe it was determined all teenage boys would suffer permanent dominant arm damage if the Heathers appeared on screen together working undercover in bikinis to wrestle a perp/bail jumper to the ground on the beach.

  12. The original sequels are all pretty meh and go down in quality quickly, like the last ones budget was literally 5000 dollars. The Tim Burton one was garbage and the reboots have actually all been pretty good
