  1. everything he did and said from his island garb to his f-f-f-f-fuck off speech was brilliant.
  2. graveman is a high leverage guy with closer experience. he could very well be pitching in the 7th or 8th in several important playoff games. he's not the top of the list, but he's up there. he'll influence more games than a 4th outfielder would.
  3. christ you guys could fuck up a wet dream. as far as i'm concerned, this just makes the myles straw deal seem even more like an ass-raping, since yainer allowed us to deal lee and plug a hole. there are a shit ton of young catchers out there - the prospect list is constantly full of them. a lot of them are already up and doing jack squat. we just had a good draft. onward.
  4. we just need a pool of available arms and then go with whomever is hot. you never know who's gonna be right in october.
  5. lynn is the guy you sign for cheap and let him eat innings during the season then trade or put on the il when shit gets real. if someone in the nl wants to trot lynn out as sp2 or sp3 against atlanta, best of luck.
  6. also lol teams are fighting over lance fucking lynn.
  7. because he doesn't like people telling him what to do. if someone is telling him what to do, that means he's not in charge. he likes being in charge. he doesn't have a strategy. he's zero moves ahead. he likes to "see what happens".
  8. that's in 3 weeks, holmes.
  9. he is team pissing me off on off days.
  10. i saw last week. the stuff with nadja and the doll gets real old to me. maybe i'm in the minority. i prefer laszlo and colin robinson with some nandor thrown in for hilarity. the doll didn't need to carry over into this season.
  11. best episode in a while. guess our uber is here.
  12. fairly common when the writer also directs.
  13. i had some steve jobs flashes while i watched. i fucking love that movie. i also had some oliver stone/jfk deja vu, so i was happy to read i was not alone in that. i think some people take issue with the plot because it's not structured like an oppenheimer biopic, it's structured as the story of the confirmation hearing of lewis strauss, using a lot of flashbacks and cutaways. that's the act breakdown. right or wrong, that was the decision nolan made.
  14. so is maldonado going to be suspended? and if not, can we appeal?
  15. seriously. if we wanted gold glove defense dragged down by a .225 avg, 12 homers, and 45 rbi we could've just paid correa $300mm.
  16. ok, so looking ahead... i'm curious if tampa sticks with their 4-man rotation. it looks like mclanahan-bradley-glasnow-eflin the last couple times thru, as off days allowed. they don't play tomorrow, so mclanahan is on track to go friday vs javier. if they stick with it, we'll get glasnow on sunday on regular rest, which is not ideal. he's been nasty. luckily, cleveland plays on thurs (only 4 games scheduled) which means civale goes sunday and we should miss him. he's been their best pitcher.
  17. it's considered bad taste to speak ill of the dead. so if someone could please text me when he dies, i'll have my remarks prepared.
  18. in a stack of bad options, do you gain more putting meyers in the outfield and yordan at dh? or altuve at dh (until completely healed) and dubon at 2nd? as long as yainer is your starting c, everything else kinda takes care of itself. dubon/meyers are fine if they're hitting 9th. diaz is a run producer and he would be hitting 7th or 8th.
