  1. Preaching to the choir I know, but If Aston is truly serious about competing for championships, then they need to have some serious reflection on keeping Lance as a driver. Imo, he did his part well in helping get the team to where they are now as a pay driver, but AM is now ready to take the next step with a better #2 driver. The results so far this weekend are about as glaring as you can get.
  2. Interesting. So they just restarted coverage or did they also restart some actual energy investment funds?
  3. It seems like the Powder is perpetually on the verge. The Turner seems like the best rock these days, but it's not really unconventional. It's low porosity sandstones. You have a lot other of these near shoreface sands up section like the Sussex, Shannon, etc. that have produced conventiknally for decades and now operators are sticking Hz in the fringes. They make good wells, but the areal distribution is limited and you can have pretty serious pressure communication issues making it difficult the scale. Niobrara is decent, but it's more clay rich vs the silty organics (hybrid) down in the Permian. Mowry is the next bench down but that's more gassy plus we'll cost is higher. And most of the better source rock is towards the southern end of the basin. It's a fascinating basin with value for sure, but it's just harder for it to compete if you have Permian positions with stacked prolific benches in a portfolio. I'm sure there's above ground issues as well. The Permian is truly a geologic, geographic, and economic Goldilocks.
  4. Breakfast: Ham and Gruyere Oeufs Lunch: Jambalaya (rice on side...I know) Dinner: Reverse seared steak The real win was the kids liked it all.
  5. Harris county, Heights area. Have a rental house that went down a bit, house we homestead went up about 8%...going to protest that one and see what sticks, but there's been some renos in the neighborhood that a re probably driving that.
  6. Ended up ordering a Camp Chef Woodind Pro. Supposed to be thicker gauge and I liked the additional smoker box. We'll see how it goes...
  7. Can you expand on this? What is the integrity issue with the salt domes? Over geologic time, sure, but are you talking about something on human time scales?
  8. I'll check out Undying Mercenaries based on this because we have a bit of overlap looks like. Thanks. The first four novellas of Murderbot Diaries are awesome, too. Loved them all and saw that Apple TV is picking it up. They seem to be targeting the scifi market from what I can tell. Currently on The Girl with all the Gifts at the moment. Not bad so far...
  9. Fran's given plenty of props to Texas in the past when it was warranted. It's just that we suck.
  10. Re: no heat at Love. It was similar at Harvard Elementary. No heat yesterday and today. A lot of the older campuses have so many bandaids it's ridiculous. Requests to replace the HVAC system have been made but it keeps getting rejected...big surprise. I get that it's not cheap to update old schools with modern equipment, but can the people bitching about books, bathrooms, vouchers, etc please just sit down and let the adults fix actual issues such as these? We are sapping resources when we need them most. And the Miles comes out and says he regrets closing schools on Tuesday? GTFO with that BS.
  11. Mine is outside and, like others said, as long as the power is on she should be fine due to the heating element. During the winter storm a couple years ago I played it safe and just drained it but this time I didn't do anything and it was fine (Houston). Rinnai system here.
  12. Lol with this take. No one told you you're racist and you know you'll keep watching. Calm down.
  13. It's still a thing and there are some full developments of it besides just single wells here and there. But it's so clay rich compared to the Spraberry and Wolfcamp that it's just so far down the queue of development. Also, the Barnett in the Midland Basin is now a legit bench (not everywhere, though) and operators are putting capital towards appraising that now, too. It's basically a $60 oil bench before you start thinking about it.
  14. Wife got me the first book of Murderbot Diaries for Christmas. Looking forward to giving it a go...
  15. Just finished The Final Architecture series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Fantastic read. I thought the third bin really came off the page. Less abstract than his Children of Time series.
  16. I'll throw in another for Milwaukee. I like how integrated their battery system is.
