  1. I said, “Wtf is this” “He got a big raise” Sorry y’all. Last time I try to break a story. Neg away.
  2. Back when he left Sam Houston for Bama, the reason Nick Saban hired him was because he told Saban to his face he wanted to be an NFL HC one day. I guess that got Saban fired up. And this move would likely help that trajectory. None of us can guarantee how great his defense will be but if you took the time to research his history and how he got into coaching, not sure we could get a more dedicated and committed guy. He is going to coach his ass off. And if you've ever watched a Georgia game, you can tell Kirby has his hands all over that defense. This would definitely allow him some more autonomy.
  3. Correct. And as a high school football coach myself, I do not take jinxes lightly and wanted to avoid jinxing it from falling apart lol.
  4. Just texted my buddy. (Both sides are working on it being a) Done deal. Lanning and Sark have same agent. Played a big role.
  5. A friend of mine is very close with Lanning. I reached out to see if he had heard anything from Lanning about Bama contacting him. He said he hasn’t talked to him in a few days so he didn’t really have anything on Bama. But he did say that Texas reached out at some point throughout the process but never offered. He said the offer was expected to be north of $2 million if it was made. I have no idea if this provides any value to this board but that’ll be $9.95 😁. Sidenote: If you haven’t heard Lanning’s story on how he got into coaching college ball you should look him up, it’s pretty incredible. He started out as a high school position coach and is now a DC being floated around by FCB as a Saban target.
  6. The comments on this tweet speak for this hire and why it's a homerun.
  7. Sorry if already discussed... when is the last time someone came to Texas directly from a coordinator position? As in we didn’t hire a head coach from someone else’s program. I truly believe this is a primary reason to why Sark will hire a better staff than Strong or Herman. He’s not bringing in a bunch of guys who just recently worked for him and attempting to do things the exact same way they did the previous year at a different school. He is going to end up bringing in the majority of his staff from separate programs, which hopefully leads to new and collaborative ideas that can positively impact Sark’s program. Just my two cents.
  8. For those who have the time today... Sark talking some ball here.
