I get that, but Terry has been here for 3 years, and the DB play hasn't improved even though the talent definitely has.

With Sark doing exit interviews with all the coaches after the season, this has to have been a topic of conversation each of the 3 years.

Now we're losing 2, if not 3+, experienced members of that room.  Hopefully the freshman class is full of Manny Muhammad and Derek Williams clones.

last year was a weird season.. the Run Defense was so elite it forced teams to throw.. we didn't exactly have a great pass rush, and we got picked apart, even vs not so great QBs.  I still feel there was improvement from the season before.  This season they need to keep improving or perhaps Sark makes it clear that they should entertain offers because the writing is on the wall that these performances will not cut it here

    - Gerry says he has Dakorien Moore @ 51% to Texas, and then adds - quite seriously - he could "go to 52% or 53%"

    - Bobby's reaction, when he hears that, is ... all of us 😂  😂  😂

    - Also, Bobby said that as of now, none of Guilbeau, Barron or Jordan is expected to enter the portal

I’ll say this in regards to Brooks father and Coach Joseph.

The issue that came up during Brooks freshman year was tied directly to how Joseph runs his room (rotations+playing time and how it’s communicated to the players) Some other coaches got involved because they related better to the family and solved the issues before the bowl game. In film breakdown towards the end of 2022 the coaches were grading out Brooks higher than other corners but the playing time wasn’t always reflecting that. When Jamison got back fully healthy, Jamison and his family expected him to return to the starting spot but Brooks family expected Brooks to continue to start because he had been playing well and grading out higher than Jamison. During Bowl practices the issue came to a head because Joseph was sending two different messages to each family and didn’t take the issue head on to be clear about the plan for bowl game rotations and who would start.

Manny Muhammad’s family didn’t really vibe with Joseph either early during that recruitment. They felt like they talked to everybody except Joseph. Sark had to really get on him to get more involved because the family liked Texas and loved Jeff Banks but wasn’t sold on how much Joseph wanted Manny.

Is this a serious thing?  Is this why we are missing out on players right now in CB recruiting? Like Sellers and Guidry leaning elsewhere?

@Thiefery what happened on the OTF stream this morning? Saw your comment on the other site and wanted the unfiltered context of what happened with a players parent.

it was on a OB live..  Chat was talking about Norton and Sorrells dad (OnThePorchSorrell) joined the chat and said that Norton isn't any good and that he isn't SEC type of player.  He continued to say that Bill wasn't Murphy or Sweat (duh) and then said something about VB wouldn't be happy if this happened or something to that effect.

I was responding to him at the time then got the usual come see me at the game while wearing a sorrell jersey.. i told him I would be wearing a Norton jersey and give him a hug.  It was just weird how he attacked Bill so vehomelty. Usually he's a pretty cool guy who just says "88 will be great" .. maybe drop a nugget or two on how the DL/DEF is doing and leave.

  5. listening to a postgame show of the LSU spring game while coding..

apparently they are calling for them to grab everyone at DT/DE in the portal..because what they have out there is shit..

also think that they will face much better DLs in conference..however the DL won't ever face as good as a group as their OL.. ????  This sounds eerily similar to what we said after chuck beat ND in Austin.. which we all found out..there were much better OL we actually faced in that shitastic season..

CB continues to be a mystery early in this cycle. There's Brew and then a bunch of question marks around who they really want.

From what Gerry said on OTF a day or so ago..  They were recruiting Sellers, but with how they are going in on the kid from Louisiana.. it shows where things are trending and not trending.  I'm deciphering that Sellers is looking to commit with ou or aggy, not us.

Agree with some of this and disagree with some.

Nahlin and Burton, while both the owners/leaders of their respective companies, have completely different roles on streams. Bobby isn't perfect but he's a pretty decent host and facilitator and can bring tons of knowledge of the history of Texas sports and recruiting; no one's been doing it longer. Nahlin though isn't a host. He's very very stiff in front of the camera/mic, and talks fast with a monotone voice. You have to really concentrate on it to process what he's saying.

Agree on Wadlington, somehow he makes Boyd better.

I like Vogel and Wells but Wells can be a little dry or quiet so a slight nod to Vogel, but then then I really don't understand why his twitter and TFB avatar looks almost nothing like him.

has Bobby ever lashed out on his own subs in the message boards? Cause I've seen screenshots of Nahlin doing  it

Gullette is a guy we don't hear much about, although he's still young.

Tapp had a little juice from the little pt we saw him get, but at best he's competing for Walton to be the #6 guy at a position where the top 3-4 figure to eat up a majority of the snaps

like a week or so ago... Gullette was getting love

If I could save one from that list it would probably be Robertson. Maybe Cojoe next. I could see all of those guys being productive college players but losing them doesn’t change our roster outlook too significantly.

This roster is in a good place

With the type of talent they are bringing in from the high school ranks... they are raising the floors so projects like Cojoe have to go elsewhere to get significant PT.. Imagine if they close on Fasusi and Rodgers this cycle.. and you already know they are heavy into the best looking OT in '26.. these guys are bluechips.. still can redshirt a season and learn but their floors are higher than the strohs, cojoes of the world at OT
