  1. That was my 1st thought, but we havent seen what Bryant or Mitchell look like. Until we see the product on the field it is hard to really question. This is Surly, so I am sure if they struggle on field there will be plenty of comments about it.
  2. PFF grades on interior DL last year. #1 T Sweat (91.7). #2 B Murphy (91.1). #60 Alfred Collins (79.9). #270 Bill Norton (70.6). #312 Damonic Williams (69.4). #393 Trill Carter (67.2) #398 Vernon Broughton (67.1) #788 Jay Toia (56.4).
  3. I think the issue is this group is different. This group is missing that guy, who you trust to anchor vs the double team. I dont see a 2 gapping DT that is ready to see a ton of action this year, but maybe Sydir or January surprises. That does not mean there isnt talent on the DL. This will likely be the most athletic set of DTs Texas has had in some time. PK may just have to tweak the approach this year. Be more aggressive upfront to take advantage of that athleticism, since there is no immoveable object on the DL like Sweat. I believe the back end will be better this year and that should help in the run game also (bringing down a safety more often).
  4. I have heard guys liek Gerry and Bobby talk about this, but I doubt any actual research has been done on this.
  5. Most times when they check that box, the destination is already done. It is isnt 100% accurate, but I dont get my hopes up on a kid that has the no-communication box checked (unless the Texas rumors have been circling for awhile)
  6. I wonder if he checked the box for open to communication or not. (which makes me laugh. If you check the no communication box, it is basically admitting to tampering. not that the NCAA cares)
  7. That battle will come down to who develops the most this off-season. I doubt that it will be settled prior to September. Baxter needs to work on keeping his feet moving through contact. Blue needs to prove he is more than a speed back. I hope both fill the holes in their games this summer and this fight goes until both are drafted.
  8. I didn’t say it was a bad thing, that is your assumption. I just said they have growing to do. It’s not unexpected.
  9. Blue is in year 3 and Baxter is in year 2. I said I don’t think either have hit their ceiling and the one that does will take the job. I don’t see what the issue is with that statement. Seems pretty fair to me.
  10. Why? I don’t think any of the RBs have put together 3-4 games in a row of high level tape. This isn’t like Bijan going into his 2nd year, where you were like that is the guy. I don’t think they suck. I just don’t think any of them have hit their ceiling yet. Not sure there is a guy that can take 18-20 touches a game in the room. We won’t know until one of them goes out and does it
  11. Baxter is likely the guy that makes the biggest jump this year. 2nd year is usually the biggest jump for a player. To the original point I think all the RBs flashed last year, but I didn’t see anyone that took the job. So it will be interesting to watch this play out and see who makes the necessary improvements to be the guy
  12. Yes, it’s on blue. Completely ridiculous to pretend it is on Helm.
  13. Wait, you are blaming a fumble on the guy who was blocking downfield and blue ran up his back? That is an interesting take
  14. Held under 3.3 yards in 2 of his last 4 (2.6 vs ISU (Baxter was at 5.9) and 3.3 vs OSU). Killed it vs a beaten down Tech team. His mistakes vs Washington put a damper on Washington game (non-contact fumble and a dropped TD pass). Most the hype is based on that TEch game.
