  1. That talks about desires, but I didn't see anything about actions. I'm interested in seeing if there are actually any studies of people who have already moved, that would support the assertion that "it's mostly Republicans fleeing Democratic states." And it's not so much "can't afford to live in California" but more like "can buy more for their money" in Texas. I'm an engineer/business guy in high tech in Austin, most of the California transplants I know are tech workers that have relocated, often for the same company but switching from bay area offices, to Texas ones, to make their money stretch further. And like I said, not a one of them would be classified as conservative or Republican.
  2. Could be? Is there a link to back that up? I know lots of Californians that have moved to Texas. Not a single one of them could be described as "Republican."
  3. You're obviously a hoot at parties.
  4. Agree 100%. If you couldn't tell by the wording, I was just having some fun. I think it's okay to poke fun at our own program. I don't take myself or UT sports overly seriously. It's entertainment-- it's supposed to be fun. But I disagree with this 100%. The capability for self-reflection is one of the prime differentiators between Longhorns, and ags. It's a tremendous weakness for them, that they take themselves far too seriously, and are completely incapable of self-reflection.
  5. We've had our own issues, like an assistant coach who got involved with a chubby trainer, Case McCoy's video escapades, and of course Ol Freak Nasty. But at least none of them were murderers.
  6. Banh mi, imo I appreciate the sentiment but good lord, why would anyone subject themselves to some of the worst beer on the planet, when the French make the best wine?
  7. I've liked the Imagine models for years. I don't own one but I tour through the boat and RV show every year and Imagine always have a tighter fit and finish than the majority of competitors.
  8. Such a beautiful era of cars!
  9. pickle talk on the BBQ thread not going away
  10. The all-encompassing-non-Texas-weather thread would be appropriate, but anyway, hope you're staying safe and don't end up in Oz. Unless you want to go to Oz.
  11. Superior is definitely good and has decent happy hour specials including $1.25 oysters.
  12. Yup I prefer DST but either way my vote is for sticking to one or the other and not ever changing again.
  13. The Stallion chicken fried steak and yeller gravy. I too have a lot of memories at the Drum and will miss it.
  14. Oh they had that covered right here:
  15. Oh yeah, I'm not asserting that it would matter to anyone other than the ags.
  16. The B1G would gladly accept TAMU for the same reasons the SEC did-- access to Texas recruiting and Texas televisions without bringing in a threat to the established powers of the conference. This rumor is almost certain to be completely false, but it's also plausible, which is why people are still discussing it.
  17. Euro... Brazilian... whatever it takes.
  18. Euros are racist AF. They don't need any external promptings to say racist shit.
  19. Oh man not me. I love poring through a weighty tome, turning page after page, watching the remainder dwindle through time and dreading the moment I turn that final page and end the story. Tablets can never duplicate that feeling.
  20. It's not just poors who bitch about prices. Rich olds bitch about prices too, 'cause back in my day...
  21. If I didn't know better I'd be hopeful it would lead to turmoil and dysfunction and RBR losing momentum and losing races, but we just aren't that lucky.
  22. The part where you have as little to do with the City of Austin government as possible, which is invariably a net positive.
