It's very much not a red state.

Actually, it is.  Its resident commissioner, Jenniffer González-Colón, is a Republican.

It's like all those midwesterners that by all reason would be Democrats, voted for Trump.

I don't think we have the foggiest idea what the average Borinquena thinks about anything.  Just the loudmouth grifters.

The leaked chats:

https://www.scribd.com/document/417063494/Chat-de-Telegram-de-Rossello-y-sus-amigos#from_embed

The dude fired his secretary of state, so the next in line is Vázquez, who is just a female Rossello.

Quote

Rosselló isn't completely out the door yet. He announced that his resignation effective at the end of next week, but he had not issued a resignation letter Thursday. Legislators are digging in. An impeachment report from the speaker of the House, Johnny Méndez, suggested that five criminal activities related to the Telegram chats had been committed.

The protests are a quarter of the entire island population. They have been relatively peaceful though considering.

Sure, let the people decide. There wasn't much of a stomach for independence in the past but maybe that's changed.

yes, and once it is voted, no going back. Caribenos can be fickle. Just an interesting side note. And today I am sure it would be larger turn out, but lower approval.

A referendum on annexation by the United States was held in the Dominican Republic on 19 February 1870.[1] The proposal was approved by 99.93% of voters, although turnout was just 30%.[1] However, the United States Senate rejected the annexation on 30 June 1870 with a 28–28 vote.[2]

You think Trump is bad with Central Americans crossing the Rio Grande. Imagine what he would do if he saw Haitians crossing the Massacre into the US.

How sad.  This is why you need checks and balances.

Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garced fired the island's emergency manager, hours after a warehouse filled with supplies was discovered.

The emergency aid is believed to be from when Hurricane Maria hit the island two years ago, the governor said.

A warehouse filled with bottled water and emergency supplies was opened Saturday by residents in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Carlos Acevedo, director of Puerto Rico's Office of Emergency Management, was dismissed Saturday. The governor appointed Maj. Gen. José J. Reyes, the adjutant general of the Puerto Rico National

If Trump wasn't so divisive, liberals wouldn't be forced to hide supplies from dying people.

Neither of the last two governors could be labelled as "liberals," you fucking idiot. In spite of them being from the same party in Puerto Rico, the former one was a centrist Democrat who opposes gay marriage and the current one self-identifies as a Republican at the national level. The ideological spectrum you presuppose isn't the same there.

Do some research before spouting off your imbecilic prejudices.

You're such fool.  Puerto Rico's politics do not align to our politics, at all. They have their own parties and priorities. You just assume because they have more melanin than your mayonnaise ass they are liberal.

They are TDS for sure though. Some right wing, some left wing that went down for corruption.

Then there's this gem, shirts were made to politicise the response against Trump... Rather than deliver the aid to the citizens. They were actually motivated to keep supplies away from people to make Trump look bad it seems.
