Kerr and Ish are two good pick ups.

You really are satya 2.0. They’re both fine, nothing special. We have better guys on our board than Kerr and slow played him.

if they committed to us you’d be whining about us taking 2 guys outside the national top 300 and saying how CFP teams wouldn’t take these kinds of guys.

Have any Georgia commits switched to A&M?

I would think the former Georgia coaches could coax a player they have a relationship with to at least visit. I don't know what kind of money is flowing. If any, at least they could collect their visit bonus for showing up.

Where Texas A&M stands at every position and with every target in the 2022 class
BRIAN PERRONI

The 2022 recruiting cycle has already been a fun one for Texas A&M fans. The Aggies have 10 commitments with all but one being a four- or five-star. And even that one is ranked as a four-star by 247Sports.

This past month has been the most talent-laden of any in Aggieland since I have been in the business. Texas A&M had over 1/3 of the entire group of five-stars from across the country on campus for official visits, unofficial visits or camps - all in the month of June. And, after picking up a pair of four-star pledges for the 2022 class over the weekend, are in good shape for several others.

Texas A&M will likely take 23 or 24 in the class as the Aggies plan to save room for potential transfers from four-year schools next offseason. Because of that, spots are at a premium. A&M is also very much involved with a number of very highly-ranked recruits going forward. In fact, the Aggies will likely be in an enviable position of having to turn some very good players down.

With it now being a dead period until the season, with an exception for the final week of July in which A&M will have a big recruiting barbecue as well as bring in an official visitor or two, the picture is becoming clearer as to what the class will look like.

The following is a breakdown of where things at every position with every target.

QUARTERBACK

QB Conner Weigman
Texas A&M picked up a commitment in early spring from five-star Conner Weigman of Cypress Bridgeland. Barring something changing, he will be the lone quarterback in the class.

If A&M does decide to go after a second quarterback, though, there are two players to watch. And both camped in Aggieland this summer. Memphis (Tenn.) PURE Youth’s Tevin Carter has had a strong spring and summer and will be at the Elite 11 Finals. Four-star Zion Turner of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas had a very strong camp in Aggieland as he made the trip with a pair of teammates. Both players on high on the Maroon and White at the moment.

RUNNING BACK

RB TreVonte' Citizen
Texas A&M has signed multiple running backs in all but one class under Fisher. However, with the depth currently on campus and the numbers in 2022, one is likely. There are a handful of candidates for the spot and it very well could come down to first man to commit gets it.

The most likely could be four-star Jamarion Miller of Tyler Legacy. The East Texan was a last-minute addition to a loaded first official visit weekend and there was a ton of momentum with pretty much every recruit there during those three days. Miller is also high on Alabama and Florida but then made another last-minute trip this past weekend when he made it to Austin. This could be an A&M-Texas battle.

Another player being pursued by both the Aggies and Longhorns is Lake Charles (La.) Prep four-star TreVonte' Citizen. The 6-foot, 220-pounder is up there with Miller among the most likely to take the spot. He visited Aggieland in weekend No. 2 and also took officials to Auburn, LSU and Texas. He likes Fisher’s history with running backs.

Another four-star from Louisiana, Le'veon Moss of Baton Rouge Istrouma, officially visited in weekend No. 3. However, he had made a commitment to Alabama while on campus two weeks earlier and in-state LSU is the most likely candidate to flip him, if any school can.

National top-100 back Nicholas Singleton of Reading (Pa.) Governor Mifflin made a midweek official to A&M last week before then heading to Alabama for a weekend trip. All his other trips were to Midwest schools, though, and it could be hard to get him from the region.

El Paso Burges four-star Tavorus Jones is a bit of a forgotten man and the 5-foot-10, 195-pounder just took his first official visit this past weekend as he made his way to Missouri. There is one week in July where officials will be allowed again and Jones says he has one set up to Aggieland at that point. Depending on how things shake out with the others, he is one to watch as well.

The other target has not scheduled an official at this point but A&M is working to get four-star Trevor Etienne of Jennings, La. on campus this summer. He is pretty open right now and has not taken any officials yet.

WIDE RECEIVER

WR Chris Marshall
The Aggies have a bigger wide receiver committed in Noah Thomas of League City Clear Springs. The 6-foot-5, 180-pounder is a dangerous target in the red zone. While the Aggies are pursuing a few more taller wideouts, focus will mainly be on speed the rest of the way. A four-man class could be a reality.

Fort Bend Marshall four-star Chris Marshall has only played football for a year but the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder was immediately dominant. A&M had him in during the first weekend of June and is in very good shape. However, he says he does not want to make a commitment until after the season. He has officialled to USC as well and wants to hit up Alabama and Arizona State in the fall.

Suwannee (Ga.) Lambert four-star Kojo Antwi has a decision date fast approaching as the nation’s No. 115 prospect will announce on July 5. He took an official to A&M the second weekend of June and this has long looked like a battle between the Aggies and in-state Georgia. However, Ohio State and USC also got official visits and Alabama is keeping in communication and could be a wild card.

As for the straight speedy wideouts, one of the top targets is four-star West Texan Brenen Thompson of Spearman. The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder was on an a midweek unofficial to A&M last week and went to Oregon over the weekend. He has also used one to Oklahoma State while Alabama, Clemson and Texas round out his top six. A midseason or after-season decision is likely and, at the moment, all six schools are very much in it.

Frisco Liberty five-star Evan Stewart had initially set up an official visit to A&M after decommitting from Texas in the spring. However, he only officially visited Florida and Texas this summer. The Aggies got an unofficial visit but Stewart is very focused on Alabama at the moment with Florida, LSU and Texas in it as well. He took an official to Austin but a lot of people expect him to end up in the SEC.

Four-star Andre Greene Jr. of Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher’s tried to make visits to all of his top 12 this June. He unofficially visited A&M in early June and could be one to watch. The Aggies also offered Houston Kinkaid athlete Dillon Bell after a camp performance. He wants to take an official to Aggieland this fall and does not plan to announce until his birthday in November. However, he could speed that up as Michigan is in a good place with him. But, he is a name to at least keep in mind down the road. Speedy Fayetteville, Ark., four-star Isaiah Sategna decommitted a couple weeks ago and listed a top two of Oregon and USC over the weekend. He is unlikely to end up back in the class. Rockwall-Heath’s Jay Fair is another player to keep an eye on, though TCU is in a good spot with him.

TIGHT END

TE Donovan Green
Texas A&M only offered one tight end for the longest time and it paid off as the Aggies landed four-star Donovan Green of Dickinson in January. He was the top target and is solid in his commitment.

With Fernando Garza from the class of 2021 greyshirting and enrolling in January due to an injury suffered during his senior season, there likely will not be another tight end in the class.

If, during fall camp or during the season, A&M decides to take another at the position, Mason Taylor Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas and Houston Thomas of College Station are the two to watch. Both camped this summer with Thomas making two trips to work out at the local school.

OFFENSIVE LINE

OT Kam Dewberry

Texas A&M will likely sign five prospects in the class. That will include a couple pure tackles and at least one pure interior player. The other two spots could be either and the Aggies are recruiting several versatile prospects.

There are currently two pledges with both being solid. They are national top-100 tackle PJ Williams of Dickinson and four-star tackle Hunter Erb of Haslet Eaton. Williams is a tackle all the way while Erb could potentially play inside as well.

Though A&M is after a lot of other players, there are three that would be considered absolute priorities at the moment. They are five-star tackle Kelvin Banks of Humble Summer Creek, four-star tackle Kam Dewberry of Atascocita and guard Mark Nabou of Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea.

Banks was on an official at A&M over the weekend and will be deciding in the next month or so. A&M and Texas are in the best shape at the moment but LSU and Oregon are also in it. Dewberry has been to Aggieland a ton and took his official in weekend No. 3. He used an official to LSU the first weekend was at Ohio State over the weekend and will take his final two officials to Alabama and Oklahoma this fall. Texas is also in it. Nabou was a recent pledge to in-state Washington when the 6-foot-4, 330-pounder joined a big group of players from Seattle on a camp tour. He picked up an offer at A&M and set up an official less than two weeks later. He has since decommitted from Washington with A&M and Michigan both being in good shape. The Aggies are likely the team to beat at this point but he has no timeline.

A&M also really likes Allen four-star Neto Umeozulu but the nation’s No. 158 overall prospect has only used one official so far, which was to USC. Look for him to officially visit at some point.

This past weekend, the Aggies had four-star Edmond (Okla.) Deer Creek tackle Jacob Sexton in town, but the two in-state schools are in the best position for him. Frisco four-star guard Cole Hutson was also in town and a decision will likely come before the senior season for him. He has not tipped his hand a ton, though. Dayne Shor out of Georgia was a midweek visitor this past week and plans to commit at the end of July. He also officialed to Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee.

The one wildcard could be four-star interior lineman Jaylen Early of Duncanville. He took an official to A&M the third weekend with Ohio State and Florida State being big competitors. The Buckeyes could be tough to beat if they decide to push while the Seminoles got an official visit this past weekend. Oklahoma is in the mix as well.

DEFENSIVE LINE

DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy
The Aggies have a number of very good defensive linemen on campus but the possibilities in the class are too good for A&M not to take a big number along the front four. There are going to have to be some tough conversations in recruiting meetings for sure.

A&M has one commitment in national top-50 edge Malick Sylla of Katy. He is solid in his pledge. The other pass rusher type that A&M is in good shape with is four-star Ernest Cooper IV of Arlington Martin. A&M is a big fan of him and vice versa. He was in Aggieland for his official this past weekend after making his way to Stanford the one prior. He used one to Ohio State as well but this is an Aggie-Cardinal battle. A decision wlll likely come in the next month or so and A&M has the momentum coming out of the weekend. Philadelphia Imhotep national top-50 edge Enai White made an unofficial in early June but is a bit of a longshot at this point.

A&M is in good shape with quite a few interior players as well as strongside end types. That includes five-star tackle Bear Alexander of Fort Worth Brewer. A Georgia commitment when he speak a weekend in Aggieland earlier this month, he has since decommitted from the Bulldogs. A&M is the favorite here but an official to Alabama this past weekend was big. He also took an official to Miami and will use one to A&M in the fall.

Another five-star that is quite high on the Aggies is Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy of Lakeland, Fla. He likes how A&M uses DeMarvin Leal and absolutely loved his recent official visit. Though other teams are still in it, this is shaping up to be an A&M-Oklahoma battle. Both of his parents went to OU and he grew up a big Sooner fan. However, his dad is a pastor and is taking a job at a church in College Station next year, so that could play a role. This one could go either way.

Four-star Anthony Lucas of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral is another who can play that Leal role or move inside. He used his first official to A&M and his next to Notre Dame and it looked like it could be a battle between those two. However, Miami, Oregon and Alabama also got officials while LSU is in it as well. This could end up being a tough land for the Aggies.

Flower Mound Coram Deo small-school standout Jadon Scarlett is a player that A&M really likes and, depending on how the board shakes out, could end up on the commitment list before the end of the summer. He took an official to Aggieland in weekend No. 2 and then went to Missouri this past weekend. At this point, he does not have any others set up. The 6-foot-2, 260-pounder could play either inside or outside if he ends up in the A&M class.

High three-star tackle Aaron Bryant of Southaven, Miss., was in town for an official in weekend No. 3 and really liked what he saw. Texas impressed him while on an official this past weekend as well. He says he likely won’t use an official to in-state Ole Miss but the Rebels are ones to watch. So is Georgia, which had him in the first weekend. With them losing Alexander, they could up the pressure on Bryant. At the moment, it’s not exactly clear where Bryant stands on the A&M board.

A similar situation to Bryant is that of IMG Academy tackle Dominick Taylor. However, the four-star’s visit to A&M this month was of the unofficial type and he participated in camp as well. If A&M decides to push, he has very real interest.

International standout Hero Kanu, who played in Southern California this past spring, was at A&M along with a big group of European prospects this spring. However, when three of the 2023 players that were offered returned to campus for an unofficial the next week on their way to Houston, four-star Kanu was not with them as he stayed with the majority of the group at the hotel. He has not used any officials, though, and A&M will try to get him back in fall for one.

Local four-star standout Jaray Bledsoe of Bremond is very high on the Aggies. However, he has some work to do off the field before he has a spot in the class. If that happens, there is a good chance he ends up there but it is going to be tough. His scheduled official for early June was pushed back to some point in the fall.

Michigan four-star tackle Alex VanSumeren was in town for an official this past weekend. He keeps things close to the vest but it would be a bit of a surprise if he left the Midwest.

LINEBACKER

LB Harold Perkins

A&M did not sign a linebacker in the 2021 class, so it is a position of need in 2022. Luckily for the Aggies, they have recently picked up two commitments at the position.

Martrell Harris of The Woodlands are a very intriguing prospect as the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder is very athletic. However, after having to play JV as a sophomore due to transferring, he got hurt in the third game as a junior with a collarbone injury. Because of his limited body of work, some schools were hesitant. However, A&M loves him and had no problem taking his pledge following an official.

The other linebacker commit is the most recent pledge. Four-star Ish Harris of Pilot Point does it all for his high school and was an all-state running back. But, A&M likes the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder as a linebacker and he committed on Saturday afternoon. Harris also officially visited Oklahoma but canceled his one to Texas as he had his mind made up already.

There is one major target for the third spot. It is Houston Cy Park five-star Harold Perkins. Though the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder had originally said he did not plan to use officials to any nearby schools, he was in Aggieland on one that very first weekend. And it went very well. He does not plan to announce until early January at the Under Armour All-American Game but A&M is in good shape. Perkins also took one to Texas and has them set to Florida and Oregon for the fall. LSU is probably the main competition, though, and he unofficially visited there this summer.

The other big target, and one that could see A&M stretch it to a four-man class if needed, is four-star MIKE Stone Blanton of Mississippi took an unofficial to Aggieland this month and took officials to South Carolina, Louisville and Stanford. But, he has long been committed to play baseball at Mississippi State. Now that he plans to play both sports, the Bulldogs have a leg up there. But, he does really like A&M.

SECONDARY

DB Bryce Anderson

A&M is recruiting guys at multiple positions, so it is a bit tough to break this up into safeties and cornerbacks. But, I would expect that there are two pure safeties, two corners and a swing guy signed.

The Aggies have a commit in four-star cornerback Bobby Taylor of Katy and he is one of the vocal leaders of the class. A&M has talked him about both cornerback and safety and he could end up in either role. He played safety as a freshman at Houston Heights before moving to corner with Katy. Lexington four-star safety Jarred Kerr committed this past Friday and is a player the Aggies are really high on and glad to have on board.

The biggest target to watch in the near future is Bryce Anderson of Beaumont West Brook. The national top-50 prospect and one-time early LSU commit has a decision date set for July 4. While LSU is also in it, the in-state duo and Alabama are in the best positions with the Aggies and the Longhorns possibly set up for a head-to-head battle. When Anderson decommitted from LSU, he was an A&M lean. Things then switched to Texas but the Aggies made up major ground on the first weekend of officials visits and got him back for an unofficial a couple days later. However, Texas got the final visit as he was in Austin up until close to the dead period began at midnight. We will have a better idea later this week of the likely spot but A&M has made huge strides as Fisher is personally recruiting him. Anderson would be a nickel for the Aggies and then likely move to safety.

There were a pair of five-star safety prospects on campus for officials this past weekend in IMG teammates Kamari Wilson and Keon Sabb. Wilson is the more likely of the two but came in a Georgia lean. However, the Aggies made up major ground over the weekend and this one will be interesting to follow. He will likely made a decision this summer.

Another five-star that is high on the Aggies is Deyon Bouie of Bainbridge, Ga. A longtime Georgia commit when he joined Alexander in town on an unofficial the first weekend, he has since decommitted from the Bulldogs. ‘Smoke’ is close with new A&M analyst Nick Williams, who came from UGA, and some other schools think the Aggies are the team to beat. Georgia is also still a big player and is looking to get him back on board. He will use officials to both places in the fall.

In addition to Anderson and the five-stars, A&M’s other main target at safety is national top-100 prospect Xavier Nwankpa of Des Moines (Iowa) Southeast Polk. He was in town for an icial in weekend No. 3 after having previously taken a self-guided trip in the spring. Nwankpa does not have a timeline for a commitment but most think Ohio State has the edge. However, the Aggies are very much in it.

Another longtime Georgia commit, national top-100 cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew, was in town this past weekend on an unofficial. He is likely to return on an official at some point.

The most intriguing player out there is four-star Clear Lake cornerback Julian Humphrey. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound speedster committed to Florida this spring but has remained in frequent communication with A&M. He came to Aggieland to camp this month and plans to be back for the recruiting barbecue next month. He also plans to use an official in the fall. If the Aggies push for him, there is a very good chance he ends up in the class.

A pair of in-state corners are big targets at this point but neither is planning to use an official to Aggieland at this point. Unless that changes, both North Shore five-star Denver Harris and Plano John Paul II four-star Terrance Brooks are longshots. Four-star safety Chace Biddle of Garland also canceled a scheduled official. He could choose to return in the fall instead but TCU is in the best shape right now.

Two four-stars committed elsewhere made unofficials to A&M in June. In-state LSU pledge Laterrance Welch could potentially officially visit as well but does not seem likely to flip. However, Port Arthur Memorial’s Jaylon Guilbeau, a Texas commit, will use an official in the fall. He was once very high on the Aggies so it will be interesting to see what happens should A&M make a strong push.

Speedy Spring cornerback Dorian Friend was offered after he did a private workout one week and returned to camp the next. However, the 5-foot-9, 160-pounder is not on the commitment list following an official to A&M this past weekend. He is very high on the Aggies but says he plans to wait a while. The former Houston pledge will be a name to watch late if there is room.

Five-star LSU safety commit Jacoby Mathews of Ponchatoula, La. used an official to A&M in weekend No. 3. However, it would be a big surprise if he flipped to the Aggies.

Perroni doesn't know shit when it comes to how Texas is with recruits.  Basically brushes Stewart off as going to the SEC.  Barely a mention of Perkins despite an OV and possible fall return.

The best one though is saying Bledsoe is very high on the aggy's with not even a mention of Texas.  All this despite Bledsoe choosing to visit unofficially over the weekend to Texas instead of aggy.

You’re not getting Citizen either, dumbass

RUNNING BACK

The most likely could be four-star Jamarion Miller of Tyler Legacy. The East Texan was a last-minute addition to a loaded first official visit weekend and there was a ton of momentum with pretty much every recruit there during those three days. Miller is also high on Alabama and Florida but then made another last-minute trip this past weekend when he made it to Austin. This could be an A&M-Texas battle.

His Bledsoe update is laughable, as is Stewart's.  He doesn't have a clue the position Texas is in for recruits.
