We got so royally screwed that year. #7 in the country heading into the Big 12 tournament, and we make it all the way to Finals before losing to Kansas. What does that get us? A fucking four seed. Not only that, but the toughest four seed, getting sent to fucking California with Arizona in the second round. Meanwhile fucking Florida, outside the top 10, gets crushed by Kentucky in the SEC tournament and their reward is a cushy No. 2 seed in the SE region.

And the cherry on top was the refs screwing us out of a win late, because god forbid ESPN's precious media darling Derrick Williams exit the tournament early. Such fucking bullshit.

we finished the season ranked no.5 overall in Kenpom- and that's post tourney- and yet we were a 4 seed who had to face Oakland in round one and then that stacked Zona team in round two. an absolute buttfucking by the committee, followed by some sloppy seconds by the official. i'm still not over it.

Absolute steal in the 3rd round.  He’s just now scratching his potential.  I was watching those highlights and hey killed it at both LB and DE.  Just an absolute freak of an athlete.  He’s been the closest thing to Kindle and Orakpo since their time here.

I’d say he’s better than both of those guys, and those guys were very damn good. Ossai was nearly the sole reason for a few wins surrounded by some less talented groups and shit coaching.

Recency bias or stupidity. Dude could have been up there with another year maybe.

He's more comparable to Kindle but slightly worse. Neither Kindle nor Ossai hold up to the recognition and career Orakpo had.

I feel like even with the injuries, Orakpos NFL career also speaks for itself.

Don’t know if it was his dream school, but didn’t they lead for him late in his recruitment?

Yeah, aggy thought they had him in the bag, (not that kind fortunately] Carrington did his thing and the rest is history.

I was more confused by his statement that we tried to play aggy.

When was that?

CDC tried to schedule a home and home for the 2022 and 2023 season with them in 2018 and got turned down.

Preseason is so dumb and unneeded. Hate this for Ossai.

Agreed, it's just a money grab. A few short controlled scrimmages against another team is all that's needed.

And injuries happen in practices all the time. It sucks, but it’s part of sports. Injuries happen.

Preseason is definitely “needed” to get rookies and younger players in-game action as well as for roster evaluation.   Whether teams charge fans to see these games is a different argument.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery and can show out next season.

They could do that in 1 or 2 games. Every other level of football survives just fine with maybe 2 controlled scrimmages, nevermind full blown games.
