I'm not wasting my time in a sports board arguing with a misinformed know-it-all. You can read this book if you want an unflinching, fair look at the matter.

Once again, attack the messenger, don't deal with facts.

Anyone following along, that wants to be a mis-informed know-it-all, should read the following in order:

Forgotten Kingdom (Dave Bigler, 1996)  https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0874212456

Fort Limhi (Dave Bigler, 2004)   https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0874215692

Mountain Meadows Massacre (Juanita Brooks, 1950)   https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0806123184

No Man Knows My History (Fawn Brodie, 1945)   https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0679730540

Blood of the Prophets (Will Bagley, 2004)   https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0806136391/ref=tmm_pap_used_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=used&qid=1569040542&sr=1-1

Misinformed.  I'd buy that for a dollar.

Oxford University Press, the publisher, didn't think it's a joke.

Answer the question.  Why has it taken 12 years to publish volume 2 ?

Did you know that briggy had himself indicted in 1860 because he was afraid the feds were going to do so first?

And why would he do that?  Why, to have himself tried in a brethren-controlled Probate Court.  But if he didn't order it, then of course he would have no reason to indict himself, would he?

Misinformed.   Comedy goald.

The messenger should go take his message elsewhere not on a football thread.  And none of us give a shit about anything you post.

@shitty, you speak as if you have any say around here.  if you don't like my content, take a hint, and take a hike.

there are a number of us who don't want to be in the same conference as byu, and who will do what is necessary to keep you from promoting your institution in this forum.

Yeah, those are pretty bad ass. Just saw a pic of Emtman, and I dig those. That's the uni I always think of when watching them for some reason. It's before my time, but those are sick.

Agreed.  Its like they decided to fuck up something perfect.   It was a timeless look.

I don't think they fucked it up. I think Washington is one of those schools that they can incorporate different looks and still look slick. That's not to say their older doesn't look better, but they pull it off nicely. The purple goes well with white, black, the gold/yellow (whatever the actual color is).

They are now convinced they beat Utah this year because they beat the team that beat Utah.

What are you talking about pops? Who thinks that? Do you have an example?

We just like watching our main rival lose and even better that it's to a team we beat. Schadenfreude. I don't think that's a foreign concept.

Speak for yourself.  I thought it was informative, even though I already knew of the sordid history of Brigham Young and his cult.

Richard E. Turley, one of the authors of this book, is the managing director of the Mormon church's Public Affairs Department.
Glen M. Leonard, another author of this book, was the president of one of the Mormon church's international governing bodies.
Ronald W. Walker, the third of three authors listed for this book, was employed by Brigham Young University - owned by the Mormon Church.

62–34–4 and 9 losses in a row is what you call a rival?  UMass is your main rival now.

Fair point, but the Church leaders were ready to go where the evidence pointed. An interview with Richard Turley:

When asked what he would do if he had found Young did order the massacre, he said, "I would highlight it. Some may question that, but it's true. We were committed to follow the evidence wherever it took us and to let the chips fall where they may.

Oh fer sure.  That's exactly what a man drawing a large paycheck to serve as managing director of the Mormon church's Public Affairs Department would have done.  Mos def!

"Some might wonder whether I would have had my hand slapped if I learned Brigham Young ordered the massacre." As an employee of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Turley said he made senior church leaders "aware of my intent to follow the evidence to its conclusion. They supported it and, to a man, were willing to accept it and follow the truth."

...

Turley said he and his co-authors approached Young's role "as a historical question, not as a theological or a political one. We were open to any possibility."

Go away and take your Mormon bullshit with you
