Rick Perry Resigning

Energy Secretary Rick Perry is expected to announce his resignation next month, according to three people familiar with his plans.

The former Texas governor largely avoided the controversies that pushed other Cabinet members out of the administration, but his contacts with Ukraine have drawn him into the impeachment inquiry engulfing President Donald Trump and his inner circle. However, the three people said the Ukraine affair is unrelated to Perry's departure.

Perry ain't going back to D.C.  And I don't see Sharp giving up his post at A&M System anytime soon.  President of A&M-College Station seems most likely, IMO..

Fuck, I can't believe I'm saying this...but I actually wouldn't mind the shitheap as Lt. Gov.  I certainly prefer him over Dan Patrick, and he's not smart enough to manipulate the Senate for his own agenda, which doesn't really involve much.  Plus the gay porn stash in the Lt. Gov.'s capitol apartment could just stay put.

But yeah, I see him laying low for about a year and either going for A&M-CS President, not A&M System.  Or the head of Scouting.

Perry wouldn't have beaten Obama in 2012, but fun fact---the most predominant reason he wasn't the GOP frontrunner/nominee was because of our former AD Mike Perrin's wife---Melinda Perrin.  A very popular GOP governor in a deep red state (at the time anyway) who was given bullshit credit for our booming economy (relative to the rest of the nation, anyway) who didn't really have much going against him outside of Texas (until of course, the rest of the nation heard him speak).  But think about what a safe pick he was with so much going for him (falsely, but he knew how to take credit for him).  But he fucked with UT in the two years before that, and Melinda and a few others took it upon themselves to systematically one-by-one go to every one of his donors in Texas and make them understand that he fucked with UT and therefore would limp into the Republican primary with few resources, no champions, no track record, no friends, a minister without portfolio.  They spent two years destroying every friendship he had with any UT alumni in our state and it cost him dearly.  He should have been the big deal from the big red state with the big checkbook.  Instead, he "waltzed" in with a drug problem, a shitty memory, and the staying power of his boyfriend's off-brand Cialis pill.

Okay. So what are the odds for the various positions he could take in C-Stat?

All fours, two knees, front spoon, or on his back? Doubt he knows any of that tantric shit.

This story gave me a boner.

I remember the shit he tried to pull and I remember the full might of the University of Texas putting him back in his place but this story takes it to 11. Fuck with the bull and you get the horns, poor aggy.

Perry’s campaign was doomed as soon as he said giving illegal immigrants in-state tuition was the right move.

He got booed. At a debate. Of Republicans. 2 months later, “oops.”

He was doomed when Republicans discovered he was friendly with La Raza, even gave a keynote at their yearly get-together and was buddies with one of their top people (who is also an aggy).

Or in 2001 when he talked about having open borders with Mexico, and working on a healthcare system that operated in Texas and Mexico, treating the border as one big group of people.

He never left.  He's still been living in Round Top the whole time he has been in the cabinet.

I had him figured as a Bottom.

i too remember when the texas GOP (and, so, the national GOP) was friendly with mexico and mexicans.  then a bunch of fuckers from hazel green and kansas took over and ruined the one positive direction the GOP was moving.

2006-ish, Perry, George W, and others, were still pushing a guest-worker program.  Basically, acknowledging reality while getting the illegal immigrants documented so that we knew who was here, and pushing them into properly paying taxes.

Trump has tossed Rick under the bus, saying it was Rick's idea to have the Ukraine call

Here is a purported quote from Trump.  Trump here is talking about the call to Ukraine where he asked for a favor relating to the Bidens:

Quote

"Not a lot of people know this but, I didn't even want to make the call. The only reason I made the call was because Rick asked me to. Something about an LNG [liquefied natural gas] plant"

C'mon Donald...
