I just didn't want McGuire at a place like OU.  He does limited damage to us in Waco.  There are still some nice possibilities out there.

This. If he isn't coming here, I'm fine with him at Baylor. He'd be an absolute nightmare for us somewhere like OU or LSU.

Wanted McGuire, that sucks. Baylor’s going to be good, but this is about us getting back to where we’re supposed to be, and if Yurcich and Ash can do that, Baylor doesn’t factor in.

Why?  Rhule is gone.  Aranda is unproven.  He’s more likely to pull a Kevin Steele.

Especially with the Utah OC. That is as bad a pick as Beck was for Herman.

Considering that Herman's background as an OC gave him the ability to call plays if needed, I think Aranda's choice is worse. Not Shawn Watson bad though.

But probably not because they continue to hire excellent leaders who happen to coach.

Example: football, basketball, baseball. (And likely other spring sports)

Their AD > CDC

CDC has hired none of those coaches at Texas. He'll get his first swing this year with basketball. Possibly baseball if Pierce fucks up again. His non-rev hires (track, softball) have looked promising.

Ah, good point and you are correct on CDC. it's just really frustrating watching Baylor win 1 game and then going to the B12 championship game so fast, and also ranked #1 in basketball this week. WTF.

This board's hard on for Baylor is certainly something. Reminds me of the media's love fest for Texas Tech last year. Baylor has made a couple decent to good hires in recent years but across the board they're still Baylor.

Which is why they've failed to have a top 20 finish in the Director's Cup while Texas continues to stack top 10 finishes every year.

I don't know where this narrative is coming from but it's hilarious. Baylor has one truly elite coach (Mulkey) who was hired 20 years ago and another good coach (Drew) who was hired 17 years ago. That's the list. They have some other decent coaches but nothing special. About what you expect from Baylor.

CDC's first two hires-

Mike White (softball): #6 in the preseason polls

Floreal (track and field): Both the men and women's indoor teams are currently ranked #4.

How did you come up with that? Is it not true that baylor is currently better at the big 3 sports?

1) In your original post you said, "And likely other spring sports." You weren't limiting the discussion to just the Big 3 sports. It's simply not true if you look at conference championships, Director's cup rankings, national titles, and so on. This same discussion happened in this thread where a LSU fan was running with the same narrative.

2)  Your initial argument wasn't limited to "currently". You were making the argument that Baylor continues to hire great coaches as if they're stacking great seasons year after year. It simply isn't rue.

Baylor hasn't been better in baseball. Since 2010 Baylor has 1 conference championship and 0 CWS appearances. In the same time frame, Texas has won 3 conference championships and has 3 CWS appearances. Steve Rodriguez has finished 6th, 4th, 5th, 2nd in the Big 12 and has never advanced out of a regional.  Not sure why you think that was some type of great hire by Baylor?

Rhule had a good year but in the last 3 years Baylor is 19-20 with a 1-2 record against Texas. They haven't won a bowl game. I don't want to get into this Rhule debate again but I'm not sure why you think Baylor is currently in a better place in football. Next year will be a rebuild much like year 1 was for Rhule when you look at Baylor's roster/recruiting. So in all likelihood, 3 out of the last 4 years will be average to sub par for Baylor.

Baylor's basketball program is legit and Scott Drew is a good coach. It's not comparable to their baseball or football program.

3) Beyond that fact, you tried to insinuate Baylor's AD is making better hires than CDC.

Here are CDC's three hires so far. White (Softball)-ranked 6th in the preseason poll, Floreal (track and field)-men and women's indoor are ranked 4th, Berque (men's tennis)-currently ranked #1 and won a national title last year.

Please list the great hires the current AD at Baylor has made that even come close to those hires made by CDC? CDC seems pretty legit based on the fact all three of his hires are currently ranked in the top 6.

Yeah. Stanco and some others are looking at the low point for the big 3 Texas sports in the last 20-30 years and the high point for Baylor in that same timeframe and then acting as if it’s the status quo for both programs and he thinks Baylor, over 5 different ADs, has cracked the magical code to perfect hiring success.

In other words, Stanco’d.

In basketball? Yes.

Heading into this season of baseball, I'd call it a draw. Draw.

Heading into the 2020 football season, I'd say Texas is in a lot better shape than Baylor. No.

Stanco'd. Why don't you ask him about Van Fillinger next? Or better yet, get in a heated debate with Derka about Shaka Smart. I mean, if you're looking for ways to pass the time that will only end in frustration.

I like the optimism. “Sports already played - yes.  Sports currently being played - yes. Sports being played in the future - I have a reasonable take of no.  So therefore the answer is no.”

It's optimism to say that Texas is NOT better than Baylor in two out of the three big sports?

I don't think you could have fucked up the Cliffs Notes to my reply any more than you did.

Just curious how the topic changed from football coaches to sex.

Porn addiction is an epidemic whose normalization has produced a sexual culture that would make Roman patricians blush.

You guys sound like bitches.  You honestly saying you looked at that picture, saw that donk, and didn't wonder whether she would let your trouser snake Slytherin?

More like I was seeing patients came back to the board and the first 5 posts on that page were about sex. Not that it was surprising but I was curious about the segue. I assumed it Baylor talk.

Fixin' to head East, 'bout 400 miles to Austin, gonna get the bimonthly needles in the eyeballs, slow down that AMD. As the last few pages seem to indicate, I'm fullyexpecting "Son, I am not disappoint" to be the new interior DL coach by the time I get there. Y'all cover this thing, right?
