Just some info on how to watch this Sunday...

How to Watch 2020 TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game

  • When: Sunday, May 17 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. ET
  • TV Channel: NBC, GOLF Channel, NBCSN
  • Stream Live: on PGA TOUR LIVE , GOLFPASS and GOLF Channel
  • Golfers: Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson vs. Rickie Fowler and Matt Wolff
  • Announcers: Mike Tirico, Rich Lerner, Paul Azinger, Gary Koch, Steve Sands, Jerry Foltz

For details on the event, GolfChannel.com has you covered.

With all money going to charity, both teams will start with $500,000 in the bank. From there, hole values will increase as the match continues: Nos. 1-6 will be worth $50,000 each, while Nos. 7-16 will be worth $100,000. The 17th hole will be worth $200,000 while No. 18 will feature a $500,000 skin.

In the event of any ties, the dollar values will carry over from hole to hole. If the 18th hole is tied and play concludes before 5:45 p.m. ET, players will head to the par-3 17th and play it from approximately 125 yards. If the teams are still tied, they would return to the 17th tee and decide the remaining skins and money by a closest-to-the-pin contest.

If play concludes after 5:45 p.m. ET and the teams remain tied, only the closest-to-the-pin option on No. 17 will be used.

Additional bonus money will be awarded for low scores, with players earning an extra $25,000 per birdie, $50,000 per eagle and $150,000 per hole-in-one or double eagle. All putts for birdies or better must be holed and won’t subject to concession, even if the putt doesn’t affect the team score.

They should be playing with one club.

Lee Trevino says "Dr. Pepper bottle"

"In an early betting gimmick, he would sucker lesser players by offering to play a hole or two using a quart-size glass Dr Pepper bottle instead of a club."

Lee is definitely in my dream foursome. Seems like a great guy and I love hearing him tell stories.

Wonder who the funnier guys are now on today's pga tour??

Believe it or not, Ian Poulter may be one...  Phil's a great trash talker.

Today’s match made me think about the greatest skins shot ever.

Reminds me of the Par 3 shootout held at TreeTops from 1999 to 2006, which was a fun event - I still need to play their Threetops par 3 course; and of course Lee did this 200, to win another $1,000,000

Always a fan of Lee

Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning will be on one team, and they will face off against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

How to watch The Match: Champions for Charity

Date: Sunday, May 24 | Start time: 3 p.m. ET
Course: Medalist Golf Club -- Hobe Sound, Florida
Format: Match play -- Best ball on front nine, alternate shot on back nine
Broadcast team: Brian Anderson, Charles Barkley, Trevor Immelman, Justin Thomas, Amanda Balionis

TV: TNT, TBS, truTV, HLN
Live stream: fuboTV (Try for free)
Pre-match live stream: Bleacher Report

The Match: Champions for Charity goes down on Sunday, May 24 at 3 p.m. ET at Medalist Golf Club in Florida. The charity event will feature four of the biggest sports names of the last 50 years.

This represents the second consecutive Sunday that live golf will be on television following last week's match at Seminole Golf Club featuring Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson against Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff. Medalist will likely be a bit tougher than what Seminole was without the wind blowing, which could prove problematic for Manning and Brady.

Regardless of the quality of the golf, the cause is a great one. There has been $10 million pledged from WarnerMedia and the golfers themselves with more likely to be raised during the actual event. That money will go to benefit places like Direct Relief, American Red Cross, Save Small Business and the ALL In Challenge.

The match will feature interesting one-off competitions like the one-club challenge, which will take place on the fifth hole. Charles Barkley (!) and Justin Thomas (!!) will be involved in the telecast. Here's a primer about the rules, format and more about the event.

It's not the golf we thought we were going to get to kick-start the summer on the day before Memorial Day, but it's maybe as good as we could have hoped for after a two-month pause on pro golf on the PGA Tour. It also might be a harbinger for Woods and Mickelson as they execute busy schedules over the course of the rest of 2020, which will feature three major championships and a Ryder Cup.And for the second straight week, a lump sum in the millions will be raised for a terrific cause as Woods, Mickelson, Brady and Manning do their part to help defeat the virus that has created the weirdest season of professional sports (and culture) of any of our lifetimes.

In a surprise to absolutely no one, some of the most famous names in sports have decked out carts that feature either their personal logos or numbers and team logos. Behold what these guys will be riding in all their glory -- along with a cameo from PGA Tour star Justin Thomas.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hope Fort Worth can handle possible protests outside the golf course next week at "The Colonial" -- tournament will have empty stands and tents, as the tournament is proceeding without fans.

 Koepka playing...

it's gonna be hot, but unless there is some drastic change, rain will not be a factor at the Colonial.  bright and sunny every day.  this is good.  last thing we need is rain playing havoc with one of the first semblance of sports returning in the U.S.  hope the wind picks up a little more.
