2019-2020 Surly Winter Weather Thread

Two days in the 20's this week, and then the rest of the foreseeable forecast is above freezing during the daylight hours.  We lost half our snow in the matter of two nice days over the weekend.

I'm sure we'll get fucked by some random "hey, here's 9" of snow on April 25th" kind of shit, but it will melt in a day.

We should be mostly out of the proverbial woods (knock on wood).

Morale of troops is starting to rise here. Got one cold snap like you midweek but most extended forecasts see us in the 20s or 30s for the next 10 days into the 40s after that. No real storms unlike last yr. sounds like the jet stream/polar vortex is doing its job unlike last yr.

Need a slow thaw tho for flooding reasons. Can’t go from 30 to 60s and 70s in a few days. No bueno

Yeah, that's always quite a thing for you guys.  Our area is relatively safe from that, being at a (relative) high point and most of the towns are built near, but directly along, rivers.

You guys need it to warm up and dry off so you can run NH3.  Anhydrous logistics this spring are gonna be...bad.

At least for the next two weeks we will have some pleasant weather.  It will get a little warm this week, but he next 2 weeks are expected to be below normal temperature wise and above average rainfall.  We might make a dent in the drought here in Texas.610prcp.new.gif
