When is the sentencing?

Judge said Feb 6.   Prosecutors asked that Stone be taken into custody immediately - they believe he violated the gag order by speaking with a journalist last night.

Quote

Prosecutors argued that Stone, who had been out on bond before and during his trial, should be jailed while he waits to be sentenced, though U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ultimately turned down that request.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Kravis said Stone has “shown an unwillingness or inability to abide by the conditions of release the court has set for him,” asserting that the now-convicted political operative had violated a gag order in the case as recently as Thursday night when he sent a message to Infowars radio host Alex Jones.

Defense attorney Bruce Rogow acknowledged that Jones claimed to have received a note from Stone, but he said it was unconfirmed. He said Stone “understands the gravity of the court’s instructions” and would comply with them. In an unusual move, the judge said her gag order would remain in place, even though the trial is over.

Give him some rope before the sentence hearing.  He'll fuck it up in the most royal fashion ever while wearing strange glasses and a bizarre hat.

csb:   I live near Roger Stone and occasionally see him around. I don't know him and have never spoken to him.  Even when he tries to dress normal he sticks out.  You see him and the lizard part of your brain just starts giving you the "this dude is crazy, watch it" vibe even though he's not physically intimidating in the least.   Last time I saw him he was waiting for cold cuts at the Publix deli (the pin head shape is the dead giveaway)   I resisted the urge to tell him to fuck right off and enjoy prison, but like I said, you just look at him and get that sense he is NOT RIGHT in the head.   /csb

I sure hope the sweet old ladies with the strong Haitian accent working the deli counter know who he is and his politics...   one can hope.

So predictable.  So obvious.

Roger Stone convicted of all counts charged for perjury and witness tampering - which he committed to cover up Trump's conspiracy with the Russian hack and drop attack on the 2016 election.

Now, from inside the White House grounds, the theatric case is underway for Trump to pardon Stone

And Stone's daughter given Fox audience for the same:

Trump and his 2016 election hack co-conspirators are so fucking criminal mob.

please pardon Roger Stone, it will blow up in his face

Trump's lawyers will tell Trump that pardoning Stone in the near future will just put Stone in front on Congress again.  Trump's best move is to send a comm to Stone to let him know that once the GOP re-wins the House in 2020, Stone can be pardoned.  Which Stone knows is basically telling him to f off.

  • Who exactly are Trump's lawyers again?
  • Trump just pardoned 3 soldiers against the advice of the Secretary of the DoD among others, which leads to...
  • When has Trump ever listened to anybody?
  • However, if anyone is good at throwing someone under the bus, it would be Trump so the latter move is probably as you said, the best one and since he does seem to have a self-preservation streak probably what will happen.

Which shows how disconnected the DOJ is from criminal justice on the ground.

There's definitely an element of TrumpBarrco interfering here, but this is SOP for the DOJ.  And this is where we draw most/all of our Supreme Court nominees.

It's a good thing for Roger Stone that he's just a wealthy white man who has been convicted of perjury, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice and not, for example, a black man selling loose cigarettes on a street in New York City because there are big time repercussions for that!  It's especially a good thing for Roger that he's not five black teenagers who were wrongfully accused of raping a woman in Central Park because Trump would be calling for his execution.

Are you saying it's better to be white in America than to be black?

I am shocked.

So:  collude with Russians to subvert democratic elections , repeatedly lie to FBI about said collusion, threaten violence against your co-conspirators and fellow witnesses, encourage violence against a federal judge, and rest easy knowing that Trump and Barr will obstruct justice on your behalf?

Fucking sickening.
